Gracias (:

Yeah that MR2 Spyder isn't doing it for me. Though I had no idea they were so light. And that S2000 has a quite an engine bay going on. I'm with M5Power - can't be many modded Ss in Idaho - I doubt there are many at all. Kind of like Arkansas but perhaps even fewer. These two places don't really have ideal convertible climates.

Different strokes for different folks on the car thing. I am an MR junkie, and while the S2000 is awesome in many many ways, its not MR... and I have my odd love for Toyota to maintain as well. I guess a better equiv to your S2000 goal of 3 years ago would be my ultimate goal of a Lotus Exige (I'd settle for an Elise, but need more track car as an MR-S will suffice for summer top down driving)

On the modded S2000s in Idaho, that picture was taken in Spokane, WA, not far from Idaho really. Probably half a dozen modded S2000s in the area up there (at uni right now, about 70 miles south Spokane... and 8 miles from Idaho). But anything fancy is rare... seen ONE Lambo ever in Spokane, and an NSX once... Lots and LOTS of modded WRXs though.. holy crap. Oh, there was an Exige I saw just about a month ago though, caught me complete off guard (though I was in a wealthier part of town).

Convertibles are far less common up here though, do to having snow on the ground about a third of the year and the low winter temps. Not much rain though, being on the East side of the state, so summer time you can leave the top down all the time.

Well done LoudMusic - looks hot.

An S2000 is on my top ten car list - I think they're great cars.

Yours looks great! Good find. Enjoy it. :)

So, does this mean that anyone who says the S2000 LM doesn't exist is wrong?

Nice car, LM. (:

Crappy pics indeed, LM. As a future civil engineer I'm interested though in the bridge at the back, so it ain't all that bad ;)

Here in The Netherlands I see S2000's quite often, but I've never seen one in blue. It makes your car look both elegant and sporty. Great choice!
Unless you're going to plan some track days, I'd leave the car as it is right now. It doesn't need anything to be done to the exterior. But it's your car ofcourse. Enjoy the drive :)

daan: I've been trying to come up with a good license plate. Maybe "S2000 LM" is the one to have. (:

Hugo Boss: That's the "Big Dam Bridge" spanning the Arkansas River between Little Rock and North Little Rock. Plenty of information at http://www.bigdambridge.com/. It's for bicycle and pedestrian traffic and connects our linear parks along the river forming one very long bike path.

Looks great!

The wing on that other stook is positively hideous. In general, unless its a prototype or formula car, wings on verts = 👎

Great looking car! 👍 I would love to own a S2000 and a recent one, but college has to be finished first and start working for a while before I could even consider a purchase. I bet you are as sick of all the rain we are getting as I am. 👎 All of this rain is killing my golf game, so I am sure it is a putting a damper on your open air driving experiences.

I have experienced the hot black leather. I was out of the car for about 2 minutes while I took those pictures and getting back in, with full length pants mind you, I had a warm welcome from the seat.

The rain has sucked a bunch, but today wasn't so bad. Unfortunately my wife made it out of the house before me and took the car while I was in the shower. The hybrid and I had a pleasant drive to work ...

Oh, that would be a terrible surprise in the morning when you are expecting to drive you newly purchased car to work.

I am sick of the rain. I have lived within the same area of Oklahoma for my entire life and I do not remember a single year in which we had two different periods of good snow and this much rain in one year. The two different periods of good snow would have been amazing in itself, but this much rain is just odd. :odd: This time last year, it was already getting into the mid to high 90s with 100s soon following. This year I am starting to wonder if I need to build an ark or something.

Well the both of us can always hope for sunshine so I can enjoy my golf and you can enjoy your open air motoring.

Again beautiful car and enjoy it! 👍

Wow, the wind noise in that mic is terrible. :indiff: But you already knew that. ;)

Looks like a great parking lot to, uh, drive irresponsibly in. Maybe you could make a video on a nice winding road when you get the sound sorted out? I’d love to see what that car can do. :D

I'd love to have that parking lot. Oh, and the car too. ;) I'm still working on getting a MkI ('88) MR2 that's in town. The guy wants $2500, while KBB is about $1500-1600.

Roflmao@Big Dam Bridge

I bet that S2k is even more beautiful in person. I know somebody with a black one, and that thing is elegant. Pictures just can't do them justice.

Looks to be a great video, minus the wind noise. The wind noise really kinda cuts some of the sense of speed out since you cannot really hear the engine because of it.

Hopefully you will be able to figure it out because I would love to see a video of your S2k, as I am very jealous that you have one and I do not. The S2k is on my list of cars to consider buying once I graduate in a little over a year.

To everyone: Yes the wind noise totally suck. I'm thinking of just putting a piece of tape over the mic and be done with it.

Graduating from ... high school or college?

College . . . I have been out of high school for over three years now. Went straight to college, well interned at an engineering firm for the first summer out of high school, after high school. I just have two semesters and 27 hours left to complete for a degree in Civil Engineering.

I hope you can get the mic to work properly, as I want to hear all 8000 glorious revs the S2k can make.

Nice video
As for the sound if your video recorder has a mic input you could hook one up and set the mic inside the car to stop wind noise.
If not try building a plexglass box for the recorder just dont leave in in there for too long (not sure if you would have a heat issue). Might try not having a back on the box so you could get the sound. Just a thought?

Hadn't thought about boxing the whole thing. But that might get too heavy. I was just going to make a small shield for the mic, and as you mentioned, leave the back open to hopefully get some true sound. What you're hearing in the video is the wind beating the crap out of the mic.

I'm assuming that the mic is integrated in the camera, but perhaps a second one positioned in close proximity to the exhaust tips?

How do you like the digital dash?

Or tape it just above the exhaust. Edit: Tree'd by Slicks.

Please can you post up some shots of how you mounted the camera?

Loud Music-> Yup, I do recall that you were aiming for the S2K 2-3 years ago, and by the way, congratulations! You are now the owner of the best car I've EVER driven (casual, race, and drift on an AP2 S2K)! Just be careful on those twitchy weight transitions, it gets ugly when you do. ;)

-> I hope I could own one one day. :indiff:

I really like the digital dash. It makes sense to me. As far as the camera ... it has no external jacks, unfortunately. Otherwise the sound would have been awesometastic ;)

Love the bodge :D

Seriously, I'm not sure I'd want to risk a camera on a construction taped and tied onto my car - but as you said on s2ki, it's your camera, and if you're confident in it then fair enough. I'm impressed it stayed still enough to give that good a video.

Good job 👍

Frankly I was surprised by it myself. I partly expected it to come lose and tear a mess out of my bumper.

Yeah, that looks rather unwieldy. But whatever, the view is awesome.

Great view, kinda like GT. :D

I think it's noticably darker when you finish than when you start - it must get dark quick over there!

And more video please. :)

You could try losing your awesome viewpoint for a dash mounted cam? Behind the windscreen there should be less wind noise and more engine noise... :trouble:

Meh, everybody has one of those ;)

Looks like fun.

I've never driven an S2K before, but I've sat in an AP2 one, and it seemed like a very tight car. It'd be beautiful to drive.
