After a dissapointing week with no seasonals last Thursday, it's true what they say you take things for granted until they are not there anymore, lol!

It's made me realise how much I enjoy the weekly events PD have been offering us & I'm hoping they missed last weeks events to give us something special tomorrow, time will soon tell anyway :)

After reading what a lot of other GT5 gamers think about the problems this game has, I personally think it's the best racing game I've ever played & haven't been able to put it down since I bought it (it's even made Black Ops gather dust on the shelf), so with the addition of seasonals, that just opened up my eyes to the possibilities PD could do with extra content for this game, new tracks, new cars, new events etc. Hopefully the last 6 Seasonal Events were a trial run where they have listened to feedback from the gaming community & are improving it where needed...

Not just the seasonal events, where's the leaderboards.
 
There was Setsubun last week when the seasonal events would have normally updated so I don't expect anything special. The way these things should work is that you don't expect anything out of the ordinary and if they do something special, then people get happy.

In stead, if everything is normal, a lot of people whine. It's free events so let's just accept the fact that sometimes, those that make games also take vacation.
 
Who knows if we will get 10 events instead of the normal 5 (to make up for the missing ones)? That would be awesome :lol:
 
Ah but if we judge what's happened before:

1. Seasonals arrive - great stuff, free extra content
2. No restrictions on Seasonals - PD obviously listening to some feedback that the Restrictions were too hard (I found that challenging but that's another topic entirely...)
3. A notice saying seasonals will be updated every Thursday give or take a day
4. No seasonals the following week which confused a great many gamers but could mean that PD are restructuring the Seasonal Events for us

So like I said in the 1st place, fingers crossed, lol... :)
 
There will probably be a new special event coming this week or next because the last news update said something like, "keep on the lookout for new special events apart from the seasonal events."

True & that was official news, thanks for reminding me as I'd forgotten about that! It can only mean good things are in the pipeline...
 
Heres hoping we get seasonal events 7 & 8 tomorrow :)
 
I'd take bets we only get seasonals #7 tomorrow, as the online dealership will be refreshed as well and the cars from last week won't be buyable for the rumored rallye events.

Would be amazing if we got a 'top gear challenge!'
Buy a car for under 15grand with a minimum of 2k on mods
and race them in a series of challenges! would be funny

but thats never going to happen, we will be lucky if we get seasonal 7
 
I'm holding onto hope for a Pikes Peak hill climb track... maybe that can be our seasonal event too!

+1 Hill climb track would be amazing, I would love to blast up the mountain in the Escudo
 
Here's hoping for even a basic Season Event update. I'll be at a meeting at 9pm local time when they would normally update, so hopefully I come home to good news...
 
I would imagine PD is very busy right now fixing the time trial penalty system for the Academy that started back in December. If I were PD, with all the publicity this competition got (including a promotion sticker on every copy sold in the US) I would have made sure the penalty system was ready before it started. Now they got a bit of bad press due to their previous lack of attention to this issue and have to play catch up, and fix it at a time when they were not planning on doing it. So I'm guessing seasonal events may take a bit longer to get updated.
 
I think there'll be an update which improves corner cutting, revises the seasonal event structure and adds the driver club (whatever that is). Who knows, they might also include Pikes Peak as well...
 
Seasonal with a car and caravan on top gear test track would be good

If I had a penny for everytime I saw this on GTPlanet I'd be a millionaire.

Omg, I'd completely forgotten this 'official' release about new special events, and as it is 'official' and included in the other 'official' release about the seasonal events being 'officially' weekly from now on it must be the truth. I for one won't 'officially' be holding my breath. ;)
