Fingers Crossed for something phenomenal to happen with the Seasonals tomorrow...

Don't be surprised if we get a big fat goose egg this week. A big general update to GT5 including seasonals and driver's club or whatever would be cool, but I don't think that's at all likely.. As usual all we can do is hope because as usual PD and Kaz say squat when we need some updated info.

only reason i enjoy seasonal events is cause its the only that levels me up..

Hope for the best
expect the worse

.. or nothing major in this case

im hopeing for the best, but i think that nothing is going to happen this week, and next week we will get the update with the Gt drivers club

Just to note.

They have removed the anouncement talking about the update scedule for seasonal events from the news part. (It has on my psn anyway)

Because they have finished!!

yea sure, they release a news saying "updated weekly every thursday +- a day" and one week later the seasonals are finished.

No they haven't, its still there but in the news list, not on the main screen, because its now old news.

PD has to have the worst PR department ever, sometimes I doubt they even have a proper PR department. The statements they release tend to be arcane and meaningless, really they shouldn't post anything or make any promises until they're just about ready to hit the go button. Seems like the only reasonable thing they can do since they are constantly coming up long on deadlines. It's almost like Kaz is either unable to or unwilling to establish clear divisions of labor within the company.

Me too, and to be honest I'm pretty excited about not being disappointed again :)

+1... and my feeling is that this new update/patch/dlc will be the last chance to continue with this infamous GT.

I am dealing with the thought of, probably, the disc will fall from my PS3. Killzone 3 are coming and this GT is more like official merchandising of The Walking Dead... a real zombie! :dopey:

You never know with PD, so I'm just expecting nothing. GT Academy isn't for people outside US anyway, so I'm just expecting a return to grinding Indy.

+1 back, I'm happy to wait for this update as everyone(apart from postpony digital and soony) say that its going to be big. After that tbh I may just concede that gt5 is never going to be the game they hyped. I have always been optimistic about it, even going against better judgement and making excuses for them. But 2 1/1/2 months after release is plenty of time to get the ball rolling in the right direction. I'm level 30, not keen on the redbull etc, I've enjoyed the game, it was worth the money for a game even though if I'm honest with myself there aren't many places in the game without fault.

I will get back to other things and the disc will have to be removed for a while, I think its become one of those games that will sit on the shelf for months until I feel like a bit of racing for a few hours, at the moment there just isn't anything to keep me interested. No more challenges worth the effort to try and squeeze some enjoyment. I have spent a whole lot more time here in the last week talking about the game rather than playing it. I will probably still buy gt6(if there is one) but not until its been out for 6mnths I spent way too much time waiting for this game, enjoyable as it is, it has left a bad taste.

Hopefully in the next few days I'll change my mind and actually feel like I'm part of a community with my friends online, with leaderboards to challenge each other, maybe a few more a-spec challenges, the ability to skip through b-spec races, save endurance races, basic things really. I don't need more cars and tracks, better collision detection and damage are higher up my list but not a need just a want. I'm 'officially' not holding my breath though. All good things must come to an end. I stopped playing Ac3, Black ops, Re5 etc when gt5 came out, not because I wasn't enjoying them, just because I enjoyed gt5 more. I'm now looking forward to having 'a little break' myself

To be honest you moaners dont deserve anything really ... all you do it sit on your bum all day playing GT5 and criticising every little thing that is fine to others ... Constructive criticism is good for their company but just being a baby about stuff wont help.

Why should they bring out new features when your going to cry about them too? Just make use of what youve got at the moment and im sure PD will expand the features as time goes on 👍

Don't count on anything happening anytime soon, it appears.

Dam, the only reason I've been logging on recently is to race the seasonal races! This game got boring way too fast.

What is up with all the PD backing, put on a happy face folks? I paid for the game: ENTERTAIN ME! It took 6 years for this thing to come to market, it should be better than this already!

I have played hours upon hours of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and feel I've gotten way more than my money's worth. Not so with GT5.

im crossing my fingers

or you could pray (like Ayrton Senna in your avatar pic)

Would be amazing if we got a 'top gear challenge!'
Buy a car for under 15grand with a minimum of 2k on mods
and race them in a series of challenges! would be funny

now that would great fun! 👍

perhaps GT5 could jump on the bandwagon and introduce an undead mode just like countless other games :dopey:

Just hoping to have something new to do when I switch it on tomorrow. The top gear challenge is a great idea.

The possibilities are endless with the "Top Gear Challenge" idea, just think about the van racing they did round the Nurburgring in one episode, a new selection of souped up short wheel based vans like the new VW Transporter or Ford Transit, now that would be a laugh! Or even "Beat The Stig" time trials in a selection of cars...

Well atleast you took the time to put together a reasonable and well supported argument... Oh wait.

What exactly makes you so special that you're somehow above the label of "crybaby" when you can't even see the idiocy in complaining about other people's complaining.

''The possibilities are endless with the "Top Gear Challenge" idea''

The possibilities are endless with GT5 in general. That's what is sad.

Great physics, plenty of cars and tracks, but so little actual racing content. They could easily double, triple, or quadruple the single player championships, events, challenges, etc.. It's all there for them to just add a "bunch more stuff to do"..

That Top Gear challenge idea is just one out of 100 great ideas that would be great to put in there for us. I'd even pay reasonable $$ for a big fat GT5 add-on pack with a bunch of bonus single player content (like 522 races worth- size of GT4 a-spec)..

+1 for Top Gear style challenges

some ideas for this

1 on 1 race where you dont have to beat the stig only be within a second of him across the finish ( basically chasing him around the track )

Have PD pick a cheap car and have our own GT5 "star in a reasonably priced car" leader board

Beat the stig .. take actual lap times from the show for cars that are in game and try to beat them ( dunno how well this would work since RL is a bit slower than the game )

So whining about complainers is ok but having a complaint about Gran Turismo 5 on the Gran Turismo 5 boards isnt?

ok

Here's my thing. It's not that there weren't new seasonal events posted last week. I was half expecting them to go away sometime anyhow.

It's that we were told in the news snippet what TIME they were going to be updated, and that they were going to be updated every week, and then they weren't.

I don't know about your part of the world, but here, that's called a lie.

And it's not nice.
