Nice!

I noticed another new feature today. When watching a youtube video, it automatically paused if i switch to a different tab. Don't know if it works with other vids.

I agree a nice feature, but i like watching videos of bands, people playing music etc. so i hope there's a way of disabling that so that i can listen to the music whilst browsing in other tabs.

Thanks for the link, will D/L when i get home from uni 👍

Very good! :)

The spell checker is the most noticeable change for me. I've corrected one spelling mistake in this post alone... A few nice other touches too, like the restore after you boot up your computer again when it has crashed. 👍

You haven't been using the betas?

I really don't notice anything different from RC3, there's the same bugs. :grumpy:

I installed RC3 yesterday. I tend to stay away from betas, but I couldn't resist. :)

And yeah, I didn't notice any difference between the versions either.

Looks good. But I'lm going to wait until some of my favorite extensions are compatable before I upgrade. Like tabcolor, session savior and gmail alert.

I still don't see the point in upgrading right now, so I won't. I know that a couple of extensions I use would be unnecessary, but I don't need to replace them or anything.

It's been added to the repos so I got it this morning. I agree with Duck and G.T; I don't notice a difference. It still crashes once in a while, but it's almost predictable. Maybe the crashing is intentional, so they can show off the restore-session feature. :dopey:

Edit: October's been a busy month for software! IE7, FF 2.0, Ubuntu 6.10, Fedora Core 6, and Windows Defender all going final this month. How, uhh, exciting?

:odd:

You just go to Mozilla's website and download it here, then you just install it like any other program...
Ok, I used the link in post 1 & couldn't figure it out, then I found a simpler installer & it had a million bugs in FieFox even though its suppose to be the full version. Oh well, I'll try your link instead of using stupid MSN explorer because IE wont open.

Ok, musn't have been a full installation even though it was almost the same as the one you gave me Duck. It's working now.

Go to GetFirefox.com and download it.

EDIT: treed, I should really pay more attention :ouch:

I need some help here. I had been using the previous version of Firefox until this morning, when I downloaded and installed Version 2.0. I also have Internet Explorer Version 6.xxxxx... installed on my computer, and I could access Outlook Express from both Firefox and IE at any given time. (I prefer Firefox, but certain State of Texas websites that I routinely access only work 'properly' with Internet Explorer.)

I don't remember having to fiddle around with the previous version of Firefox in order to associate Outlook Express with it, although it is highly possible that I did. I have been using Firefox for most websites for at least a year, and I do not remember if I had issues with my default email client when I first installed it.

Can someone provide some assistance as to how to go about configuring Firefox Version 2.0 in order to place an icon on the Navigation Toolbar that will launch Outlook Express?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the link and for KILLING ALL MY FAVORITE PLUGINS!!!! No seriously...I'm sure they will be compatible soon enough.

If it's still like FF1.7 then right-click on the navigation bar (in a blank space) and choose "customize...". You can then drag and drop the "mail" icon to the toolbar.

Oh, well that is the very first thing that I tried. The problem is that there is no "mail" icon available to drag to (or from) the Toolbar on the customize menu.

Edit 10/28/2006:
After hunting around on the net, I ran into this helpful post:
For reasons that seem to escape everyone, it has been removed from FF2. You can easily reinstall it with the GetMail extension -- which works quite nicely -- available at:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/3591/

This created an email icon that I was able to access via the "customize" option. Maybe this will help someone else.

I'm quite impressed with Firefox 2.0. I've had it for about 3 days now, and I've not had much issues with it so far. A few extensions were killed off, but I'm okay with it, since the ones I truly desire are still intact and usable.

I downloaded it last night and nothing worked.

I couldn't close tabs, i could only reload/stop the first one and half of the sites I was trying to go to didn't work.

It seems weird, like an old version, but I got it from Mozilla.
