I made the switch to FireFox 2.0RC2 a couple of days ago, after 1.5.0.7 deleted my bookmarks - again. So far so good, I liked the new 'X' button above each tab, and it seemed much more stable - and for a crappy computer like mine, the "remember tabs" is pretty usefull for "quick-shutdown". Everything went fine, until...

Yesterday, Gmail wouldn't log into the regular version. It offered the HTML-version instead... Urgh. Awful. Then, GTPlanet.net stopped letting me use the regular "Edit" box (Automatically going to the "Advanced-edit"), and when quick-replying, it always reloaded the page. Also, other Javascript stopped working. I have Javascript and Java enabled in the settings-screen, and I'm using NoScript, the latest version, RC2-compatible. GTP and Gmail are in the whitelist, and even disableing didn't help.

Any suggestions? I tried re-installing...

Well, Gmail and everything else you mentioned works for me. I'd switch back to 1.5.0.7 and use the Tab Mix Plus extension, which can restore sessions after a crash, and it offers the "x"s on each tab.

Problem is, that 1.5.0.7 crashed pretty often, which is why I moved up. The problem didn't appear together with the upgrade, only a bit later - and didn't appear at all on other PCs in my house.

EDIT: Downgraded, and... Problem solved. Thanks... I'll wait for a more advanced release.
