Yes there was but they restarted it because they did not make the webpages quick enough.

I think the old record was around ~3 million.

Mozilla's FAQ said there was not a previous record.

Well what do you think? The people who manage the themes and addons are normal everyday humans and they need their sleep.

Hey, does anyone know where to download the latest version of Firefox 2? I mean, it was really terrible. Not only did some of the add-on doesn't work, there are some functions that wouldn't work (I can't right click to view images) and there are some pages in a forum that I couldn't even click to the next page! :ouch:

I'm doomed to failure....

I don't recall ever having to right-click to view any images, unless you've set it that way. I always left click to look at thumbnails or to zoom into a large image resized by the browser. Unless you're on about something else.

And guys, as said above, FF3 has only been out a day so give the add-ons time to be compatible......

Yes you can right click a image --> View image(or is this a forum feature you are talking about?).
Well its exactly that. I don't know why, but it wouldn't work on any page that I tried viewing. Not sure if its a Firefox 3 problem (cause I never had any problem with Firefox 2) or maybe I didn't set up correctly, but its been bugging me a lot lately. :irked:

*sigh* the more reason I need reinstall firefox 2 again..... :grumpy:

Works just as it ever has...

I really like Firefox 3, it is quicker than 2 but I don't know if it really does use less memory.... seems like it uses more!

I like the "awesome bar" although it would be even better to have rolling searches appear off the web from Google as you type and not just stuff saved in History or Favorites..

I have installed the add on that makes all the buttons vista blue and it looks slick!

Is FF3 using up a lot of resources for anyone else? Mine is using 130mb at the moment.

Try to disable these extensions temporarily to see if it goes down. But 130MB isn't much for Firefox standards, really.

Yup thats about the same for me.... its more than 2 used which is odd because they claim it uses less but at least its mostly stable....

One niggle though.....

Sometimes if too many tabs are open (like 10) you cant just double click to open a new tab, you have to go file - new tab..... this freeze up didn't happen with the last one.

I never knew you can do that. I've always had a "new tab" button right beside the "new window" one in the toolbar however, maybe that'll help you.

I didnt know you could double click either. I use to right click on the tab I was using and then select new tab, so there is servral ways to get around that glitch you mention Robin. Anyway 10 tabs surely there is never a reason for that many!!

I got 11 tabs open, a few extensions, and I have been browsing sine 12:30, so that is a good 6 hours of use. I'm using the linux version, as of now 203.0 MB. of ram

 Are the memory leaks really gone?

That was under long use, I remember once I had 25 tabs open in Firefox 2 with some sites that refresh creating more of a load and I believe I had photoshop 7 running also in the back.

As of now with 4 tabs and I have run firefox 3(with some addons) for an hour now I have used up 125 MB of ram.
