Fireworks are soooooooo unbelievably boring that I can't undertsand why a single person on the whole of this fine planet would bother to drive 20 miles to sit in a parking lot to watch intermittent flashes of light in the sky for a few minutes.

The entire concept is absurd, and it's a complete waste of time.

Why do you like fireworks? I don't even think I liked them when I was a stupid little kid. And now that I'm a stupid little teenager, I still don't like them.

The near-perpetual pop and the crack of them drives me close to the brink of insanity.

I hate the chinese and their god damned fireworks!!!! ARGH!!

I used to like them too, but now they are just repetitive. Firecrackers are still fun cause you can blow **** up, but that's about it.

Haha! I was always the same about fireworks until I moved to Hong Kong. You should have seen the display that they put on every night here for a month after Chinese New Year - impressive! I'll find a couple of pics that I took later.

i think there is 2 reasons for me.
1 is being a pyro and loving fire and to blow things up
2 its the only time when your parents are actually ok with you blowing things up, and lighting fires(for me)

they are boring just lighting them. you gotta find some fun things to do, like shoot bottle rockets at the neighbors cat (i dont do that but just an example)

What fun is it to talk about shooting stuff at a cat if you aren't going to do it. It's should be illegal to not kill cats.

If fireworks were made out of the ground up bones of cats, I would have to change my stance on them. Fireworks would be the greatest thing ever created if they led to the extinction of our feline foe.

well i cant exactly shoot the neighbors cat when the cats are locked inside for the weekend. people generally go to the lake for holiday weekends around here.
AND it was just an example of soemthing to do

I personally think that setting off fireworks on your own is so much better than watching someone do it from 3 miles away.

I was seriously completating going over to New Hampshire to get myself some good fireworks (Bottle rockets, roman candles, etc) Last night. Since fireworks are illegal in Maine, I figured it was worth it. But I didn't. 👎

But whenever the 4th comes around, the security around the state line gets tight. So what I'm thinking is that I go to New Hampshire in the dead of winter to get the good stuff. Not these sissy Sparklers and Morning Glories.

Klos, wanna go with me on a fireworks run? I think fireworks are illegal in Massachutes?

light just ONE with a short fuse and I can bet your boredom problem will be cured for a while.

Of course fireworks are illegal here. Everything flammable is. I don't know why. The state could just put a big tax on them like they do everything else.

another thing, fireworks are for people like 12 and under. fireworks are going til about 4 in the morning tonight, and then tomorow i have to see all these people who complain that they didnt sleep good because they had to watch their 8 year old light fireworks til 4am.

you just gotta find fun things to do with them

I live in Phila. we have some great fireworks . In fact we have had them now since Friday night...I'm kinda burnt out ..plus the nieghborhood sounds like Iraq on a good news day, my dogs so far under the couch , I may need a saw to get her out.

Heh. That's how Maine gets it's money. Tax everything to the hilt.

Gas, cigarettes, liquor, car registration fees, propetry tax, You name it, it's taxed.

But Maine actually fixes the roads. When I drove through Maine, every couple hundred yards, there was another work zone (with actual worker!). And I think I saw a sign that calculated exactly how much tax payer money was being used to fix the roads.

Yeah. MTA (Maine Turnpike Authority) Is doing a huge widening project that supposed to go on till next year.

I think according to our govenor, it costs $125,000 to pave one mile of road. All that money comes from the horrible tax on everything.

Klos, want to have a grass-growing contest?

Do we all agree, at least, that Manny Ramirez is AL MVP? I'm stuck on NL MVP - it's down to Scott Rolen, Albert Pujols, Roger Clemens and Aaron Miles, really.

i think fireworks are pretty. or, some of it. not those that people buy on sale for new years eve and such. only the expencive big ones. allthough i would never ever spend my money on something that literally goes up in smoke..

Try mixing a pro' laser and fireworks show together.... So amazing. The local INCO refinery did one to celebrate their 100th anniversary, best display ever. It even rivalled the Disney ones.

What about David Ortiz? He's right up there alongside Ramirez. And yet he hasn't made the All-Star team.

Scott Rolen is NL MVP right now. Come September it'll be he or Pujols.

A grass-growing contest sounds fun right about now.

aww come on guys.. Fireworks own, when done safely. Im a fireworks fan but not like a crazy texan who gets like 100.00 worth and go all wild and stuff hehe.

No. Ramirez. Though I've jumped on the Ivan Rodriguez bandwagon recently. And you can't not see Vlad Guerrero's intense brilliance this year.

- Scott Rolen
- Albert Pujols
- Todd Helton
- Roger Clemens

Rookie of the year is either Aaron Miles or Matt Holliday. If neither of them win, I'm killing whoever wins AL MVP. It's only fair.

Fer about two month before Halloween around here , there are fireworks ignited every night , they like to strap 3 or 4 M20's ( a french vloud banger 1/4 stick/dynamite ) together to make a sort of bomb and then let them off on the green or on the highway down near the village .

Fireworks are fun when you light the fuse yourself and you're close enough to hear the whooosh when a rocket goes up. Professional fireworks show are about as entertaining as a windows screensaver though.

Yeah. Little sisters make it better. Steal their old barbies, ties a whole pack of M20's to it, and blow it to bits. Loads of fun if you ask me.

Then again, get a large doll, cut a hole in the top, fill with favorite explosive, and cork it.

But, take the cork, drill a small hole in it, fix a fuse to it that reaches to the explosive, cork the doll and watch $20 go up in flames.

God I need a life.
