First 69' Camaro with clear tail lights!!!!

it looks alright. Just do as Duke said and get all 3 of them to light up.

Also, the primer already looks awesome. I dont think you should paint it silver - black primer though, would probably be really cool

You ever think maybe, just maybe, you are the first person to put clear tail lights on a Camaro because, just stay with me here, maybe everyone else in the world thinks they are utterly cheap and ugly?

I find it hilarious how you pride yourself on your ugly tail lights.

With that in mind, I'd like to unveil the world's first Dodge Viper covered entirely in aluminium foil.

I've got a collection of banana stickers on it. That's another 5hp, easy.

Viper Zero
A Viper transmission in a Camaro? I bet the Mopar guys are puking chunks on their keyboards right now.

Why? The Tremec T56 6-speed has been used in the Viper, Camaro, Trans Am, Corvette, Mustang Cobra, Mustang Cobra R, DB7, DB7 Vantage, Vanquish, GTO, Monaro and Commodore.

Duke, I think the only primer that looks good is black...

Anyways, Camaroboy I just thought up something that would look even better... why not get clear plastic and buy red LED's for the taillights? They ain't DOT legal but you can get em at Pep boys for like $7.99 apiece

Uhm, Firebird, I guess it's alright buy you can mention just the GTO or Monaro they're the same car :P Well, except the LS2 aussie boys :P

It's too bad the SCCA put restrictions on it (adding weight & cutting power, if I remember correctly...).

It's pretty cool to watch mean, black LS6-powered beasts tear up a track. Then it becomes kind of strange when you realize it's a Cadillac, sharing dealership space with DeVilles...

I know.

But now the RS6's are diproportionately fast. With all o the changes they make the whole season ends up see-sawing back and forth between the cars. Fair maybe, but uninteresting when you know one car will do better than the rest.

At least it's nowhere near as bad as F1, where watching a race is a waste of time because the winner is always a certain someone driving for Ferrari...

Yeah... and his last name ain't Barichello, either. Besides with all the weight added eventually all the other cars will catch up with Audi and Cadillac, which should make for a real interesting finale ;)

Thats excellent to find some more guys that have some great knowledge of cars! It was nice to come back to this thread with some more positive feed back!!! That is a good idea about the 3 lights in each lens. I like that idea.
I have LED lights sitting in the garage for it that I plan on installing after the Woodward Dream Cruise this saturday in Detroit. Its the biggest car show in the world and I really really want to make it there!!
I drove the car to work and on the way home I snapped a couple more pics of the car in the sun.

The only relevance I can relate to why someone would make such a tuner part is that 60s Camaros were used in "2 Fast 2 Furious." I can almost remember the scene very well (no knocking on me, alright?). The ones in questions were Yenko Camaros without being overly or moderately pimped or modded. Clear lights look alright on a recent Mustang, but those on the '69 Camaro is... unique. Most American car lovers I talk with usually dislike anything remotely similar to what Japanese and [American] domestic sport compacts and imports pack. In other words, what you see in "Import Tuner," Sport Compact, Super Street, or whatever.

As I've said, I think the Toyota Altezza/Lexus IS300 kind of started the craze, since you usually hear of the Altezza being associated with the tuner part. If you ask me, I possibly wouldn't want to do it, even if I had enough money to buy two Lamborghini Murcielagos (both in red, but that's another story). If I wanted to get into the tuner hobby, my ultimate goal would be to take a Toyota Supra from the 1994-1998 (if not import one = more money), and make it a road course superweapon. But nice of you to be unique, CAMAROBOY. Any more rants/raves against CAMAROBOY's clear lights?

I think it would look cheesy if he actually put clear lights on there....but that mesh material with 3 lights in each lens will look awesome, and unique...

The entire lense is actually clear plastic with a texture on the back just like tail lights on almost every car. The only reason it looks like "mesh" is because of my crappy camera. The bulbs are also bright red and not pink. I need a better camera.

Here is something that most people didnt notice and no one pointed out. The front turn signal lights in the lower valance are CLEAR. 👍 Almost all of the 69 Camaros had CLEAR front turn signal lens up front with yellow bulbs from the factory. :)

The rear tail light housing is the same housing that was already brought to SEMA last year. It is the same housing on the 1000HP 69 Camaro called the Mule. I had the idea of the clear lens instead of the red. So I worked with the guy who makes these housings out of aluminum and I told him I would be willing to represent his site and promote his business by putting the clear tail lights on my car. He sent me the housing and I installed the clear lens and I will be modifying the housing to fit LED lights. Hope that answers your question.
So instead of the red I have the clear.

looks sweet bro, you know i love it, but i think the reason nobody noticed the lower front turn signals are clear is because they look like driving lights ;)

Oh yes, who can forget the RS6-whipping CTS-V :D
Easily. For starters, would you drive something as ugly as the CTS-V? The only good thing about this car is that it was tuned on the Nürburgring and drives half decent. But it's no RS6.

CAMAROBOY69, I like your car. I'm sure it would look great with a deep red colour finish. Although, the alloys are too clean.

I don't think you are doing those lights justice since you haven't painted the car. Show everyone the finished product and you will get a clearer picture of what everyone really thinks.

Personally I think the car has great potential. I'm just not a big fan of the lights at this moment in time. 👍

Sweet Jesus! What the hell is going on with the bonnet (hood)?

As he says, cowl induction, taking air from the high pressure area that stacks up at the base of the windshield. It also leaves room for a pair of giant 4-barrel carbeuretors that I hope are sitting under there.
