whats your torque distro at? stock or custom set?

@TheInfamousJEW6 No worries. at stock custom form it was a handful to drive. And just to make sure you did mean to tune a 550pp and not 600pp car?
Edit; Mr Jew oh how I wished for more power or less weight on your car. It was fantastic and surprisingly very very competitive with the other R32's will see how it holds up to the R33/34's

Yeah 550pp, mostly because I didn't pay attention to the rules and tuned it too low. :embarrassed: When I finally realized my mistake, it was way too late as I had already published the tune. So I guess we'll find out just how much of a handicap 50pp really is! ;) It's been a crazy month, hopefully next time I'll be less distracted by RL! :lol: :cheers:

It was smack in the middle of the R32's with all in 2:08.xxx time frames. The lower speed worked well on the wet allowed for much later breaking points than the 600 cars but the lack of power hurt in the straights.

my torque is 35:65. Sorry :bowdown:

now modified my post
TY i'll see if this moves you around in the list in a bit. getting the seasonals done need the $$$ :lol: hardly ever at 5 day log in so taking advantage of the double cred's

Try doing the quick races too, the Motegi GT500 quick race doesn't get a full lobby most of the time and you get 530k for winning a 3 lap race.

I would if I had the time, skill and tune to win that race. People in low population lobbies tend to get sloppy and dirty.

FITT Tōge Challenge

Group 1

@fordracer Trans Am:
3:34.449
DC: 8

Notes:
  • Ok launch, some wheelspin and a bit of RPM loss
  • Seems to run out of steam at the top of 3rd
  • Good brakes, stable but not restrictive
  • Decent rotation, bit of understeer on longer corners
  • Very easy to drive but feels lazy
  • Tons of grip upon exit, easy to get on the throttle early
  • Engine/transmission is killing the speed
Suggested Mods:
  • Rebuild transmission
  • Stiffer rear damper compression to help maintain rotation on longer corners
  • Stiffen spring rates slightly to improve responsiveness

@TheInfamousJEW6 RX7
3:34.012
DC: 9.5

Notes:
  • Fair bit of wheelspin when launching but gets away well once it hooks up
  • Wonderful balance, quite oversteer prone but very predictable and responsive
  • Easy to over do it but doesn't try to kill you
  • Fantastic brakes
  • Feels a bit down on power
Suggested Mods:
  • I think a transmission retune would work wonders for the lap time. Lengthen the gears so you're using more of the RPM range rather than just the last 1000 where there isn't much power
  • Maybe raise the LSD Initial a little to smooth power transmission and reduce traction loss

@Otaliema Impreza III
3:32.572
DC: 9

Notes:
  • Good launch and pull through the gears although it bogs in 6th at times
  • Good rotation, a bit overly keen in some of the slower corners but not difficult to use
  • Brakes feel a bit weak but not unmanageable
  • Initially the car feels a little odd but after a few laps it shows its colours and drives really well
Suggested Mods:
  • Maybe drop the rear toe a bit, might lose a bit of rotation but it'll feel much more predictable in the slower corners

@chrisspeed281 MX5
3:34.912
DC: 7.5

Notes:
  • Quite a lot of wheelspin off the line and then seems to struggle in the higher gears
  • Fantastic brakes
  • Very nervous and skatey
  • Oversteers a lot, easy to deal with at low speed bu impossible to recover when going faster
  • Rotation and response is good but there just isn't any grip
Suggested Mods:
  • Soften springs to improve traction and reduce twitchiness
  • Increase LSD decel to stabilise rear during braking
  • Shorten 4th/5th lengthen 1st/2nd

@hall90 S15
3:32.816
DC: 8.5

Notes:
  • Very easy to drive
  • Plenty of initial grip but seems to run out fairly quickly
  • Outside rear loses grip on exit randomly, not enough to destabilise the car fully but quite off putting
  • Transmission seems a bit clunky
Suggested Mods:
  • Lose camber to improve total grip and increase cornering speed
  • Increase LSD Accel to equal/higher than Initial to stop it dumping power when slip occurs
  • Either make 2nd shorter or 3rd longer to reduce clunkiness

@shaunm80
3:32.814
DC: 8

Notes:
  • Very neutral
  • Good rotation for the most part but understeer appears in the longer corners
  • Rear likes to come around under hard braking
  • Good transmission
  • Easy to drive but hard to maintain speed, small mistakes cost lots of time
Suggested Mods:
  • Either balance the brakes or add some rear LSD Decel to sop it over rotating
  • Increase front extension/rear compression to maintain rotation in longer corners

@DolHaus X4
3:30.696
DC:8.5
Notes:

  • Brakes could be better

@Antares26 MX5
3:33.204
DC: 7.5

Notes:
  • Fair bit of wheelspin off the line but gets away nicely once it hooks up
  • Rotation and response isn't bad but its really easy to upset the balance and get quickly out of shape
  • Rear gets loose under braking, hard to be confident on the brakes
Suggested Mods:
  • Increase LSD Decel
  • Balance front compression/rear extension
  • Stiffen rear ARB

@steve nfs Impreza III
3:32.088
DC: 8

Notes:
  • Gets off the line without any problems but just doesn't seem to be pulling that hard, seems to be all out of ideas by the top of 4th
  • Feels a bit sluggish and understeery at first but once you're used to it the rotation and grip are decent
  • Front end grip helps pull the nose round coming out of slower corners allowing for early throttle application
Suggested Mods:
  • Transmission retune
  • Maybe a click higher on front + rear damper compressio to sharpen response
  • Perhaps reduce front LSD Initial to improve response on turn in

@xande1959 MX5
3:33.398
DC: 5.5

Notes:
  • Good controlled launch and pull through the gears
  • Very nervous, feels like its skating constantly
  • Front end hops if put under too much load
  • Doesn't like the bumps
  • Always wants to oversteer, easy enough to catch but I'm constantly fighting it
  • Ask too much of the front and the understeer is dramatic
Suggested Mods:
  • Soften the springs significantly on the front and rear to improve traction and stop it skating
  • Lower damper compression front and rear so the suspension can respond to bumps and elevation changes better

@sinof1337 Trans Am
3:33.850
DC: 8

Notes:
  • Controlled launch but lacks punch
  • Geared like a big diesel truck, trys to do a lot with very few RPM
  • Good brakes
  • Good rotation and grip coming out of corners but just doesn't pick up any speed
  • Easy to be consistent, hard to be fast
Suggested Mods:
  • Wider transmission so you're using more RPM per gear
  • More power?

@CJorex MR2
3:32.748
DC: 6

Notes:
  • Not bad off the line, bit of wheelspin but nothing major
  • Transmission seems too narrow
  • Very nervous and skittish
  • Can't get confident enough in the car to push, constantly fighting it
  • Brakes work well
  • Fair bit of body roll
Suggested Mods:
  • Lower spring rates on front end to improve traction and reduce skittishness
  • Increase damper extension on front and rear
  • Increase front ARB to reduce body roll
  • Lower ride height to reduce nervousness
  • Either increase LSD Decel or reduce Initial to improve consistency

@fbccars924 PT Cruiser
3:39.474
DC: 6

Notes:
  • And the award for the longest burnout goes to...
  • LSD feels broken, induces off throttle understeer and wheelspins like crazy when on it
  • Rotation isn't bad apart from the LSD holding it back
Suggested Mods:
  • Lower LSD Initial substatially
  • Increase Accel
  • Increase rear compression to match front extension (no sense transferring weight away from the front wheels)
  • Reduce rear toe to improve rotation (maybe even a bit of toe out)

@RB26DETT MR2
3:35.400
DC: 5

Notes:
  • Gets off the line faily well
  • Gears are way too long, strangles the power and I never got out of 4th
  • Understeer on turn in followed by the rear swinging round like a pendulum
  • Brakes are poor
  • Unpredictable and impossible to recover once it lets go
  • Only made it to the bottom twice in 15 attempts
Suggested Mods:
  • Lower ARB to make lateral weight transfer slower and more manageable
  • Increase rear damper extension to keep weight over rear axle
  • Higher final gear
  • Lower front spring rate slightly to allow brakes to work better
  • From experience I know this car is extremely difficult to tune and just isn't suited to this sort of terrain

@Ale67 Evo 4
3:32.274
DC: 7.5

Notes:
  • Clean launch although 2nd feels a bit short
  • Neutral/understeer feel
  • Quite slow to react to steering input but the grip and rotation is decent enough
  • Suffers through the longer, high load corners
  • Throttle induced understeer on exit
  • Good brakes
Suggested Mods:
  • Lower ride height to reduce body roll
  • Stiffen front extension/rear damper compression to reduce throttle understeer and improve response
  • Reduce rear toe to improve rotation
  • Maybe lower LSD accel on the front to improve rotation

Thanks for the review. Your time is very similar to mine. I am glad that you found a lot of positive points in my setup and will try out your suggested modifications to solve the understeer issue the car has. :)

@DolHaus thank you for the laps, I'm glad you found the car fun to drive out. It did bog a bit in 6th but I didn't have the time to work that out of it. I'll look at dropping the rear toe s bit, maybe it's a DS3 thing greater wheel turn. I early turn my wheel more than 90 degrees one way while racing so I tune in a lot of rotation because of that.
@steve nfs for your first 4wd it's doing great you are prolly knock me off the Scoobie throne :cheers:

5.5 Our I did wrong.as I had not copied the event circuit, prepared in nurburgring. so (Dampers Compression) longer required, zebras are higher. already in the event of the circuit (which is not trained) I can say (Dampers Extension) increasing the values will improve and, balance, stability, thanks for testing follow their advice, but not trained in this circuit.:banghead:

Thanks buddy. Please don't over praise me. :lol: Still learning to tune cars for 'mass market' usage.:gtpflag:HAPPY. 👍
It's a damn good car. And you sir are a very good tuner I look forward to the challenge you and the rest of the new(er) guys are bringing to FITT.

Suddenly I became this on Sunday morning. :lol:

OK, preliminary testing is done. Spent an hour with each car, and still not very happy with the results. Going back now and run each car 5 laps and write my review. Hope some of these lap times improve.

A sleep in between lengthy sessions will usually result in gains, you're brain has time to subconsciously process everything you were consciously trying to do and turn into something more coherent and familiar. Ideally you should make it the last thing you do before bed if you want to see maximum effects but any sleep in between is a good thing

Insanely tight this time around. About 1 second spread for the top ten looks a F1 race 👍
