...but posting nine things as one is apparently just fine if done less willy-nilly-ly :p

Actually, he posted one item. That he was a generalist. Those items you noticed on the count of 9 were only explanations to show that he's a generalist.......so that those of use who don't understand, can.

Duke, ages ago I added Duke's Lackey as my signature, it was because some of our views were similar on particular subjects and we seemed to be backing each other up occasionally. Now I realize how close it is to the truth. Not so much that lackey part, but the similarities. I really wish you lived in this part of the world. I'd like to buy you a drink and talk views.

I 'spose I can rummage around in my pink matter for something you guys don't know about me...

1. I'm a sometimes-perfectionist. It depends what I'm doing, the mood I'm in, and the time or distinct lack of time I have to do it in. I tend to start a project with the very best intentions, and go about my work in great detail until I feel (or if I feel) that it's run on too long. At that time I'll hastily finish up, or if possible, break from it entirely until such time that I can complete it to my satisfaction. For example, the downstairs bathroom in my house had never been finished - The walls never filled or painted, no trim installed. I started to fill and reconstruct it until such time that I had a deadline imposed - Some people looking to buy the house. I was able to continue a good quality of work until I was unable to afford time towards it, at which time my mother took over and immediately botched it by poorly sanding and painting it. Oh well.

2. I am non-confrontational. Often, I will go out of my way to avoid serious confrontations with family and coworkers. Part of this is my passive personality, and partly that I know I will have to continue to deal with said coworkers or family (to a lesser extent). No point in worsening the relations between myself and others unless I strongly believe it's worth it.

3. I show very few 'weak' emotions. I'm not sure why, but I just don't. I won't hesitate to show my anger (which admittedly is not often), but I have shown nary a sign of crying in a few years. I've seen relatives injured, my parents fight and divorce, conflicts between good friends, and more that I won't get into. But I've not cried in years. The last time I recall weeping was more than five years ago...

4. I'm a quiet person. Both emotionally (generally), and verbally I'm one of the quietest people I can think of. I'm somewhat socially akward, and I attribute this partly to completely uprooting and moving my life when I was in Grade 8. To make matters worse, I became friends with people similar to myself and had a limited network of friends a fair way through high school. I, fortunately, realised what was happening and began to make efforts through Grade 10 to socialise more and join a new group of people. I feel that I was well known and with a good network of friends by the end of school, although I, to this date, still won't open up any good portion of feelings or thoughts to friends or family (Which I'm sure my family suspects, but I won't confirm). I am quite introverted around people I am unfamiliar with, and fairly formal with people out of my peer group and age bracket.

5. I make a point to not follow many popular trends. It has been pointed out in this thread that in doing so, I am still reacting to trends. However, I have more reason to do this than just to be different. If my tastes happen to cross those of a popular trend, then great! But I try not to follow trends in a subtle attempt to show my disdain for pop culture. I think 98.5 per cent of new music (the stuff you hear on the radio, at least) is unoriginal and essentially sucks (as detailed in a post I made in the Music subforum). Modern fashion sucks, although I personally prefer a clean-cut, casual or semi-formal look that can be easily found. Among dozens of other things I could pick out, I dislike most modern media and news agencies, as well as Hollywood (Although I still manage to choke down the odd movie that comes from them). Partly because of the over-hyping of the smallest issues, and partly because of the most superfluous BS becoming an issue.
I figure that I have enough to worry about with what I am doing and where I am going that I needn't concern myself with what others are doing.

Hmm... That went on longer than expected.

1) I was born in Belgium but when I turned 15, we moved to Norway. It was something I will never regret. I think I could describe myself in this as a person who is been fascinated with knowing people and learning their language in other countries. I'm very proud of the fact I now speak norwegian, it only makes my opportunities in further life bigger 👍

2) I'm a language freak. I hate math and all those stuff, the only thing which draws my attention in school is languages and astronomy. I've started learning German, I had French lessons for a couple of years now and next year, I will begin with Spanish and off course, English will just continue throughout these years 👍 So actually, after high school, I speak nearly 6 languages...

3) Toyotas are my favorit cars. People might think they're crap but I litteraly nearly grew up between Toyotas! As a little boy, I played inside my dad's BJ40's (He had 3 of them). Later on when he bought a Landcruiser GX 3.0L my love for Toyota really was there and became even bigger when I discovered the Supra at an age of 8 and has been my dreamcar ever since. I watched both the 24 hours of Le Mans '98 and '99 and the Toyota GT-One TS020 has always and always will be, my favourit race car.

4) My favourit music band is Pink Floyd. I began listening to Pink Floyd at an age of 6 and ever since, I listen to it every single day. I guess my emotional part of me has evolved really well because of the emotional music of Pink Floyd...this may sound dumb but listening to their songs really made me think about all kinds of things.

5) Hmmm, a fifth thing you should now...I'm not that interesting actually, the only thing I do is to improve my acting skill but I guess I could you guys that I playh the bass guitar and off course, I enjoy playing Pink Floyd the most and Pearl Jam is one of my favourit bands to play along with as well 👍

i like this thread. its one of the only ones in existance where i am interested in what everyone has to say :)

1) i am an automotive enthusiast to the tenth degree. i have no means of expressing it though. its frusterating. i dont have a sports car yet, i dont have a car to work on, i dont have a garage to do it in, or i dont have a father that does. GT4 and test driving random dealer vehicles is all i got right now. but i do aspire to own a turbocharged MR2.

2) i have never traveled faster than 90 mph in a car.

3) i like all your definitions of an objectivist. i am definetly one of those conclusively.

4) i speak eloquetly, but dont usually use proper typing grammar. i never use the apostrophe because i am a terrible typer and have to look at the keyboard to do it. im too slow already so i skip what i can.

5) i love engineering. i am going to school to do so.

one more?

6) i am extremely personable and mature. most often i can hold a conversation better with an adult than a individual of equal age. i also find it hard to convey the type of person i am on the internet. i am actaully very funny, and have many friends, but reading the history of my posts would not give you that impression. im trying my best to adapt Famines humor or other moderators, but i never seem to find an apropriate opportunity

1. I'm quite a sensitive person - the type who sometimes takes what people say to me to heart, even though I already know it's probably a joke. For example, I've had people mimic my rather different than usual voice, which can effect me. I just have a habit of hiding it so you won't know if I took offense to the comments or not. Sometimes I'm fine, sometimes not. It's quite random.

2. I'm generally quite shy, even with my family. But when I'm into the swing of things, I start to open up quite a bit. I'm sure that's why I seem more enthusiastic on GTP/MSN, because I'm not literally looking and talking at you guys. I presume this is the case for most of you.

3. Once I am determined to do something, I won't give up. Unless it's completely ridiculous in my opinion. For example, arranging the lists in the GT4 Wiki section was a huge job, but I needed to get it finished. I don't like leaving things unfinished due to other people having to finish it after me, or them to complain it isn't finished. If you see what I'm saying. I'm partly the same during gaming too.

4. To continue with what I said above, I'm a perfectionist too. I also hate poor grammar (I admit myself that I don't know all the ins and outs of it all), and my written work has to be just right. A good example of this is when I was in a Maths exam last Monday, and I had noticed my pie chart was a few degrees off. I kept rubbing it out and out until I got it spot on. Luckily I had enough time left to do it! So expect me to get frustrated with myself when I don't hit the racing lines properly, UKGTPers. ;)

5. I've always had a select few friends in real life. I'm not sure whether that's because people always hated me at school or not, but I think in general I just don't like to be "popular". Again, on the internet it's different (:D), but in real life it's overwhelming. Maybe it's something I'll get used to during my life.
