Hey guys I"ve jsut spent a ton of money on my Bugatti Veyron to increase its BHP but its handling is absolutely shocking. Does anybody have any tips on how to modify it so that it can be even slightly useful around corners?

Buy Suspension for 15'000 CR. then optimize it like this.
on the right side. the first line put 4.0 - 4.0
on the left side the first line put -15 - -15

and buy flat tires (middle) its 25'000CR. i think.

sorry for bad english.

I believe he means camber @ 4.0 on both sides and ride height @ -15 front/rear. And R2 tires.

Thanks guys. Its about as useless as a chocolate fireman around corners at the moment. The front end doesnt get around corners and by the time the car has turned the corner the other guys in the expert gran turismo series pass me like im in a flinstones mobile. lets hope the mods help. Thanks again guys

Those cars are too light, I doubt you'll beat them in it. If you're on about the event I think you are.

i dont think you will be able to fix the problem with the veyron. i too have it and mine has about 1163 hp, but because you can not install any kind of body kit or wings, the car is totally useless at speed going around a corner... so save it for a race with long straights and few corners (SSR 7?)

often excessive understeer isn't due to the car's balance; it's caused by insufficient braking.

try driving the car at its limit instead of past it and see how it handles...

Agreed. 👍 This response deserves to be repeated. The tires, weight and structure of the car and the corner itself will put an upper bound on how fast the car can take a turn. Sometimes "chronic understeer" = taking the corner way too fast.

cheers

the veyron is a PORKER with huge horsepower. its the perfect recipe for **** braking and cornering.

I dunno if you guys watch top gear, but a 250ish hp caterham (remember from gt4?) is faster around their track than the 1000hp bugatti specifically for this reason.

I think people just don't realize that they need to brake earlier than normal when driving the Veyron. Just think of a really heavy car, and think how early you need to brake for it. You need to brake even earlier than that, because the Veyron is much faster than that.

i didn't add too much bhp to it, new suspension, exhaust and tires, it handles better than i expected

I am only on level 19 however I have a fully modded Ferrari 438i, The better Lambo merc fully modded, and the veyron fully modded. I have left the stock suspension enabled on the veyron because even after a considerable amount of time working with the suspension I can not find a notabely better setup and almost any change seems to destroy the cars handling at 220+mph.

That being said I find the Veyron unbeliebabley fast and it pulls considerabely faster lap times on high speed ring (the track with a bunch of mid speed sweepers and 1 big high speed banked turn)

The key is as said many times above brake early brake hard. Also I went into the brake controller and set the brakes to 9 front and rear and I also have abs on 1. I am sure someone has a better time than me but on high speed ring going the direction where the high speed turn is the first turn after the finish I hit a low 59 second lap and I have consistent low 1:00 laps.

I am bye no way a pro player so I am sure others have done much better but I can not get faster times on any other car.

*EDIT* I think I am on 18 (I can play the japanese race on expert after the gallardo race)
I am at work so I am unsure!

Also I think people should note what speed they are going around a certain turn for example if your going 100mph around a large sweeper then try the same turn in a car that you want to believe handles better. You may find that the veyron is hitting that turn faster and that your understeer was the fact that the veyron came flying into the turn at 175mph instead of another car coming in at 100mph.

for example: On high speed ring I barely have to break at all in my fully modded VR4 and I beleive my best lap time on that is a low 1:07

Even so, it still got beat by a car with one quarter of the horsepower.

But the Caterham is also 1/4 of the kerb weight, so power to weight ratios are similar to the Veyron and the handling nods nearly always go to the lighter car. One thing I've noticed though is not to mash the brake pedal, as it WILL cause you to lock up quite easily which is really easy to do when you're approaching a corner 40-50km/h faster than you intended to.

Aye, it is... and because of that it's not pounding it's tires into submission constantly. Or it's brakes. Or it's drivetrain.

...you get the point. Except for obscene top speed runs (and isn't that precisely what the Veyron was built for?) I'll take the lighter car between two with identical p/w ratios.

yep... when choosing a car for a specific race I always look at the lightest cars first and then work my way towards the ones with the biggest engines afterward.

If you choose the lightest car possible you will always out-grip the competition. This is the same reason why its so hard to take a production car and beat race cars regardless of your tune.

I bought every upgrade for it and i don't find it driving bad. All i adjusted was shock absorbers height and the line beneath that, forgot how it was called...

I've found with the Veyron you just have to brake REALLY, REALLY early. Thing is, you've got a H-uuuuuuuge engine in a relatively large and heavy chassis, so the motor just completely overwhelms the rest of the car. 'Tis the nature of the beast.

Well depends on which Race cars your facing and what production car you choose though. Ex. F430 VS Camero LM car... You should have no trouble beating average racecars, or GT500 cars with a tuned production car.. But if your going agianst Class C monsters with a Veyron/Speed 12, then yeah you're going to get smoked.

Quickest fix for the buggati veyron is get forza. You have to use very little throttle around any corner in. it. I have forza 4 and both buggatis and they are a cloud to drive

You seriously necroing 5 years old thread just to advertise Forza?

There is a reason, on a top gear episode, a 1000+ hp Bugatti is way slower than a 700 hp Pagani Zonda. IRL it is like that.

And i try driving Veyron on Forza. Its still heavy. Not easier than GT at all.

I dont read the dates. I just was looking for a little more handling on my ss and this popped up. Im just saying i dont have a problem at all with my 16.4 veyron
