I was wondering if anyone else on GTP had any of the Mircosoft Flight Simulators.

I currently have FS2004, Century of Flight with quite a few add-ons.

Some important info about Flight Nav.-
There are 6 types of Flight Nav going from $70-$80 an add-on.
I have the $320 deal @ the bottom.

The only one I don't have and may get is AirNav Professional.

Its great though. You can manage and fly real world schedules.
For those who don't know, FS2004 features over $400 in add-ons each about $20-$30 an add-on.


So I want to know if any else here has any FS games.

I've heard about X-Plane, but haven't tried it yet.
 
I've the FS2002 Prof but I haven't played it for a long time. But I'll buy a X45 Flight Stick. Then I'll try to learn how to flight.
 
I have been flying Flight Simulator since FS95. I have FS2004 right now.


The best add-ons are free add-ons. The best developers, IMO, are FSD and Real Air. FSD's Piper Seneca V is my personal favorite.
 
the last harccore FLight Sim i was into was "Falcon 4.0" and i'm still waiting for 5.0 to come out. :scared:

you guys remember how insane we thought the graphics were for falcon 4.0?
 
I have FS 98-2004 and X-Plane, however I haven't played any recently. X-Plane is pretty cool as it has it's own physics model that it applies to the planes rather than each plane having a model file. This lets you design your own plane and see how it reacts. The designer itself is incredibly complex at first, but it becomes easier with time. The weather system is also very good and allows weather that is much more severe than in FS2004. Frame rates are very good, often around 60fps on my 2-year old computer. The trade-off for all this is the graphics. The scenery is very bland and flat with cities looking like gray blobs with the occasional gray block sticking up. Overall, X-Plane is very good if you manage to be able to design your own planes as I have. It can take weeks to make a sucessful one, but it's worth it.
 
I prefer X-Plane over FS. X-Plane runs smoother, and the physics are top notch. And besides, some of the special scenerios they have are great fun (Flying on Mars, performing Space Shuttle re-entrys, aircraft carrier landings/takeoffs). The only place where FS is decisively better than X-Plane, is obviously graphics.
 
FS2004 is the only reason I would buy a Windows machine. I fly X-plane on the Mac, and I like the way it handles a lot, but the graphics are way down compared to FS.
 
another bonus of x-plane is the large number of planes already in the game. there are actually military planes and dropping expirimental planes from b52s is fun. the graphics are bland but the storms are awesome. oh yeah, there are actual commercial airlines in the game instead of fake companies.

You can add them in Flight Simulator.

I even keep the fake ones around too.
 
I'm a keen FS'04 player. We should all get together and fly multiplayer sometime!
 
I have the FS professional version. Love it. It was a great game with the microsoft force feedback pro joystick... it was awesome!



Sadly, xp doenst support the older force feedback.
 
I have a few flight sims, love em. I have the Logitech Wingman Force 3D (Force Feedback) flight stick.
 
i had the same damn one. i spent 20 bucks on it at best buy. and it broke after 2 weeks of usage. :grumpy: I havent bought anything from best buy in years. since then :crazy:
