Not quite sure I understand what you're asking.

Sorry maybe I'm thinking of another thread about that part, they were moving partly to iRacing correct?

Oh, yeah. We won't be running the NC model on GT5 anymore and Wardez might be starting up a series on iRacing using the MX-5 Cup cars. (maybe?) Depends on how much interest we get.

The what model? Long story short I asked to join in the season in the season 2 thread and you told me I was better off waiting till season 3 since you said you were close to the end of the season

We ran a "GT Class" last season using the new Miatas (2007 model) in GT5. Which we will not be doing again. But since iRacing has that car, in MX-5 Cup form, we'll be doing it over there instead. That doesn't mean everyone has to go to iRacing, as we'll be building a new participant base over there.

I'll get the thread back up and running in late October so people can join again.

:) funny I saw you guys had the '04 miata and that was my first car in GT5 and it was red and I painted it yellow, and saw that you had the similar yellow color on your model :p
I don't have iRacing and I might run the premium miata :)

End of October.

C-Zeta has a Euro Series going that will start in a few weeks here.

Eeeeexcept it currently has a post count of 0, so at this rate it won't be starting at all. Why this is the case is beyond my mind by quite a large distance

Yeah, I'm almost at the point where there is probably no reason to start back up. The interest just isn't there anymore. I'll try again in October, but if there's still no interest I'm just going to call it quits. Pretty sure people are tired of racing slow cars given the amount of GT500 and LeMans series there are...

This is the problem I always had with my series - the cars were either too slow or as I found out when I tried for an X2010 Championship a while ago too ambitious. The problem with those series though is that I'm far too slow - I'm just a DS3 user with average speed for that league, and against a good number of people here I'd be eaten alive. Plus I struggle to control some of those cars sometimes, given that I am the Antichrist to throttle control, tyres and speed sometimes  It's why I've never managed to get proper online racing here (except public racing always ends in shouting and unreasonable crashes). The one time I've actually been in a series here was the original Cappuccino Cup, and I was slow there but I didn't care (+ I actually had a good last race in that). To be fair, the reason why I choose not to race in this section is because I know I don't stand a chance...it is the sad sad truth, sadly. :(

I think your wrong about there not being interest its just summer time for one. People want to race build it and they will come.I for one look foward to it.Its a great series.Racers live in the now and it doesnt seem to be that.To much planning and no racing.Just my observation.

It's sad that people think that series with slower cars are boring. Actually, its quite the opposite. These cars bring close and intense racing, unlike Le Mans Series where its unbalanced. In these kind of series like the Miata or the Lotus elise its tight racing and in my opinion its real racing. 👍

Wow! Not sure was precipitated that comment but I for one can't wait for the series to start back up again. 👍

Well said. Not that I don't like the faster cars but the crazy draft in this game makes them much more difficult to drive in race conditions. With slower cars, the competitive balance between different cars is easier to achieve and the racing is often much tighter, making it a more rewarding experience.

That being said, I'm pretty good at jumping in most cars and finding something that I like about it although there are some cars I like more than others (the Audi R8 4.2 is one of my personal favorites). :D

Why so serious!?! :)

Wasn't trying to be overly serious, I guess I just misunderstood some of the other posts about sponsorships. It sounded to me like some of you had found real-world sponsors, so I was just trying to understand how such a thing would work.

Yes, and I was just quoting Heath Ledger's famous Joker line.

No, there's no actual sponsorship. You can pick whatever company you like based on their colors.

My Little Pony isn't exactly a well known corporation so I wouldn't advise it.

If I don't get answers, I'm posting Pony pictures... Seriously.
Three months ago, I would have agreed with Wardez. Today, I'm not that certain. :boggled:

Wish we could put a little more color on the cars. Having only the whole body and the rims to paint makes matching sponsorship colors a bit hard.

GT5 needs a livery editor. Hopefully we will have one soon. :)

👍 Very true.

I've updated the schedule by deleting a couple tracks and getting rid of the practice races. This is to avoid the attendance problem we usually have, when everyone attends the practice races then doesn't show for the actual point paying races.

I'd be interested in this, what are car specs and do you run any practice races?

Car specs are on the website. I might move everything from there to this thread before the season starts. We run practice races every once in a while. Nothing planned at the moment.

Yeah I found them, didn't think to check the site first :dunce: and ok then, I'll keep checking back :)

A few changes I will be making for Season 3:

  • Max number of drivers will be 16
  • Reserve list
  • Same day qualifying
  • No pre-season races

I feel one of the reasons people might be put off with joining us is that we have made the series too complicated. The schedule was too spread out and people that didn't think they had a chance to qualify probably just stayed away. With the new format, which is widely used on the forums, we have a guaranteed set number of drivers, and a few drivers to take their place if needed.

This allows us to shorten the weekly schedule and run same day qualifying which will be a 10 to 15 minute session immediately followed by the race. There will be no pre-season races to help keep attendance numbers up. When we start, we start.

I will also be ditching the website and running the series directly from this thread. (or a new one)
