GT5 is very tough to handle when it comes to connections. You really need a good connection to hold it online. When I first got it, I couldnt stay online for more than 5 minutes no matter what room I was in. I was on wireless and still am, but I had a 100Mb/s router. Now I have a 600MB/s router and Voila, the problems were gone. Didnt need to port forward anything, or whatsoever. Also, my connection is private(password protected). Maybe upgrading router or modem could help, at least it helped me a lot.
 
What does Alpinestars do for this? Just their logo?
 
FYI for Division 2: Fastest lap of the race was NOT Forcednduckshn. ;)

Well, I wasn't sure if Forced pitted on that lap. If you saw him pit though, than yeah, what I could've done is irrelevant to your bonus point.
 
I stayed out for the bonus point and it likely cost me a shot at 2nd or even 1st. :(
A good warning to pick wisely when choosing whether to stay out another lap or not.:lol:

I'm beginning to think you're Playstation is sick. If you're wired I wonder if you have a busted NIC. The odd issues you've been having could just be packet-loss... Games run on a stateless protocol so packet loss causes really strange stuff.
Honestly if you're wired I'd try wireless; see if that helps.
I'd expect the game to actually crash or lock-up if you're system was having problems beyond the networking.
Something has to have gone sour on you recently though. You're connection has always been ok before and now you're having all kinds of strange issues suddenly. Seems like they've been getting worse too.

The setup I had today was manual IP + DMZ which should have meant no problems. The funny thing is that my old setup was manual IP + DMZ + Port forwarding which makes absolutely no sense but it was stable. I already switched to that and I'll be opening rooms this week to see if that fixes it.

If it doesn't, I'll likely drop out of the series. There is no way I am going to put so much effort into something and have the game kick me mid-race once again. 👎

I want to say I'm sorry to spyhunter for the first lap. Also it felt like god smited me for running him off the road with a power outage. I feel like I ruined spyhunter's race and I and willing to accept a penalty because of it.

While I wasn't happy about what happened, that is racing. Things happen. Just have to move on to the next race. 👍 I dont think any penalty needs to be handed out at all. I actually want to go back and watch, to make sure I gave you adequate room. I thought I did, but want to make sure. Wouldn't have been an issue if I hadn't had that hobble in the corner before, anyway!

Good racing, everyone! Green, was hoping we would start using the bump draft early in the race. Also, didnt mean to turn down in on you in T1. I checked your location going in, and thought I was going to be able to slide underneath. Was a fun battle there at the end! A little disappointed with the times I was running, but Nur F has never been a good track for me.

Looking forward to next Sunday!!!!

I have my router box port-forwarded for the ps3. I also have the traffic prioritized so so one's web browsing can get in mah way. (I'm a selfish sys admin at my house. ;) )
We'll have to stress your connection with long practice runs 'very high'. 👍

Hit pause when the lead car crosses the line... use the gap number in the timing sheet after that.
You'll only be off by a tenth or so at worst.

:lol: I do this as well, when its race time. My parents got used to it, so it doesnt annoy them anymore. :D
 
My race was pretty solid, watching the replay now there was quite a few great battles going on in the race, sadly, I wasnt a part of any 👎 . I cant be too disappointed with my result as this was my first race using the G27, and although I am not quite as fast yet, it was much more enjoyable. I noticed while watching the replay how inconsistent I was on the brakes, and at this track this really killed me. I lost a bunch of time blowing corners having to back it way down and killing my drive for these long straights. :yuck: Always improving though, hopefully I can have a good battle or two at GVR, should suit me a bit better being a track that flows a bit more, not so stop and go. 👍
 
Final results are have been published. Remember to get to them, click the "Click for Result" text below each race on the schedule. I'm going to start on the points right now, however they'll only be 98% accurate until I get the lap leaders info from D3.

I'm starting to think I'm the only one here with a wheel who doesn't left foot brake. Is this true? Any other wheel users not left foot braking?

When I was getting frustrated with my high lap times I tried it for a bit but it was too much for me. Left foot braking kills my consistency. I need a lot of practice with it before whipping it out in a race.
 
Yeah, it would probably help if you spaced your pedals apart more a bit. That helped me a lot in switching to left-foot. It's not incredibly much faster but you will find it easier to gain those last few extra tenths that usually take days.

It's a lot funner for me too, wouldn't go back to my old ways

First of all, thank you all D3 drivers for the excellent fair play. This Championship has everything to be successful.

To be really honest, I forgot to do after running-in the new car so... less horsepower for the race. :sick:

Anyway, all D3 are very fast but I will take the challenge till the end.

I just looked to the standings and my nick is under the Canadian flag... it should be UK...

Can't wait for the next race!

Despite being last in div 1:( must say I thoroughly enjoyed this. It's a privilege to share the track with you guys. Hopefully I did a good job of getting out the leaders way as you lapped me.

Obviously I hope to get better as we go on but am conscious of not being in the same league as most of you. Hope no one minds me dawdling along at the back.
 
May I ask what the position is? It doesn't make sense to me. At first I thought it could of been the grid position as I qualified 3rd, but looking at aderms and moiemans, they qualified 1-2.

I was all alone the whole race too. I think I followed you the whole 25 laps about 6 seconds back. Was like a good 25 lap practice run.

If you're talking about the points spreadsheet there's 3 divisions. Position 1-3 right now are the race winners from yesterday.

Ooo, I just realized my overall race distance pace was quickest :) 👍 and was surprised!

P1 Race Time for D2: Forcednduckshn 57:08.934

I figured out a few things by the end of the race and went a bit quicker and I think that helped, I still managed to do high 15's and 16's at the end of the race, and never made a mistake. Did Aderm have a moment on course? From his fast lap it seems he could have done a sub- 57 minute race, lol. I think D3 had a big battle out front too right? So I'm sure that impacted ultimate pace.

It's going to be an epic season. Like RT said, with the super fast guys in D2, the addition of brosif and egg is going to be nuts!
 
This was my first online race in a series like this. I had a rocky start, falling all the way to the bottom after getting tangled up with MuoNiuLa as he skipped all over the track. It was fun battling back to 9th, though I wish I could've held off Forced for another 20 seconds so I didn't have that "-1 Lap" in the results.

He had a mile lead and there was always a battle for 2nd behind him, so he may have been on cruise control for the second half of the race.
He also lost a few seconds coming out of the pits.

He definitely lost a chunk of time clearing dislocated blocks away from the chicane.

Yeah, there was me and Minion the whole race, and at some moments CSL joined as well. We kept overtaking and overtaking. :D It was great, little bumps, rough racing, but all CLEAN. Felt like BTCC racing. 👍 That's why the race time was the slowest.

Edit: Oh and sorry for the mistake on the D2 fastest lap. It was Ketiux not Forced who got the fastest lap like I had stated. Insane by just .008.

Pff, I dont know how many drivers had the lead in the race. I think some of them went to the pits late just to claim the lead. I know CSL, Minion and myself led, dont know about the others, sorry. As for most led, I think it was me, as Minion stayed behind me most of the time. I'll take a look at the replay, and I'll let you know. 👍

Edit: Just looked at the replay, and CSL led for a lap. Nobody else did. Just me, Minion and CSL.
