Another problem for many is the wheel animation stops very short while you're still turning and it looks bloody ridiculous.

That would bug me too !

I have an issue with 900 degree wheels you can buy.

A lot of performance cars dont have 900 degree steering, an example of that would be Honda Integra Type-R (96-00) or Civic Type-r (96-00) models both are equiped with a short ratio steering rack.

I'm sort of confused on the subject you are talking about. But your avatar catches me out every time lol

That's really interesting to hear. I wonder how much work Forza actually does then ;) At least GT seems to get most of there stuff from themselves.

Wow, that is so petty.

If it improves the game why does it matter?

Well cars with 900 degree steering requires 900 degrees of lock to go from complete left lock to complete right lock but there are cars which require less rotation DC2 ITR is around 720 degrees I believe, it provides a faster turn in with less input to the steering.

Then set your 900 degree wheel to 720?

Improves can be a very manipulative word. companies use improved or improves in advertisements when in reality it may not even make the product or in this case, game, any better. So how does this relate? Saying this makes me think that it may not actually make Forza better. And in fact, it doesn't as the topic that started it was about the Nordschleife. Which on Forza isn't up to par. So in my opinion? Does it make the game better? Well in my opinion, no.

I just didn't understand how you worded it the first time. I know how that works. Many race cars or high end sports cars use a different steering rack than a normal everyday commuter.

Yes, with fanatec you can set steering angle yourself. (it has multiple save slots for settings)

5 to be exact. Whenever I changed it on GT5 it messed with me though. I think it changes on game on it's own though. Not graphically but internally.

Having an extra real world track doesn't exactly make the game any worse though does it? And we all know what happens when tracks are cut from either series.

No matter how inaccurate the FM 'Ring' might be it's still a better game than an FM game without a 'Ring' no? To folks like me who have never been to the real track to compare, it still gives us the feeling of racing there. I play some rFactor ring mods, I have no real clue which of them is the most accurate, but my rF install is better for having them in the track list.

If you are referencing 'better' as in better than GT5 then disregard this post, because one accurate track does not equate to being the better game IMO, so it's pointless for me to get involved in that argument.

Lets stop and think about it - if Turn 10 felt like they could hire someone that could do a better job why would that not 'improve' the game? It comes part and parcel with game development - not everything is done in house when they know of someone who has proven to be phenominal in certain areas of development.

Improve is definately the correct word. Isn't it better to deliver the best product you can? The game was put together by Turn 10 it doesn't mean they created every aspect of it.

Thanks for the info on the 900 degree wheels guys ! I never knew you could do that !

advertising agencies outsources, movie studio outsources, animator outsources, it both save money and keep the team small for easy management, its just the more effcient way to do things. Even ferrari outsources their car design too, but they are responsible for the core of their product and its the same as turn 10.

They'res a whole slew of adjustments on the Fanatec wheels. If you know how to use them they're so useful.

I am really tempted to get one but I find their website confusing in regards to what I need to buy plus all this compatibility nonsense with the 360 !

That F10 video better be an AI. cause that driving was pretty poor.

I've never driven the Nordschleife in person. But the Forza model of it seems narrow enough. Just I feel like the radius of the corners is all off. Maybe that's just me, or maybe that's just the perspective I got.

That better be sarcasm .

It wasn't. Or was your post sarcasm?

For 360. You have to get either a GT2, CSR or CSRE. Then you have to buy pedals. Optional sequential/h pattern shifters, and paddle shifter extensions.

I'm talking more about the beginning. The night is impossible. But the beginning when it was still light out it was bad.

You were discounting the whole video because of the beginning, the fact that he was able to drive in the dark without running off makes it one of the most impressive GT5 video's.

Or maybe it was AI. And it's really not that difficult driving in the dark in GT5. You can see the white lines on the edge quite easily. I've done it in Karts and Nascar very very often.

Since some folks here are pretty in the know about where track designs come from....where did S2 get their track data? I know EA has some nice connections and deep pockets. Sorry if its comman knowledge but I am curious.

But since S2 isnt liked by many on this forum, and it never hit Forza or GT kind of following, how did they get so many pretty accurate, real world tracks, that have not been in any game on a console? And why the HELL hasnt FM or GT tried to get the same list?

I mean for me personally, if FM4 only had Shift2's tracks, I wouldnt complain at all.

I don't know for sure. But assume it's probably similar to the deal that EA has with Porsche. Could be wrong, but that's my educated guess.

I definitely see where your getting at though. I'd absolutely love to have Brno on GT5 or FM. It's been one of my favorite tracks since I first played it on ToCA 3.

Shift2's tracks are the best selection on console.
Race pro also has very good tracks.

Shift2's Nurburgring is more off than Forza's though IMHO.

Magnetic cars on Xbox is a real downer. Makes any form of contact dangerous.
Not a bad thing you might think but even just a rub can potentially ruin your race.

Your right aboout everything... and its a big shame that the best track selection ever to ship with a racing game is wasted in a game that is full of bugs and issues...

Fortunatly for PC users the comunity is working on unoficial patches to fix the physics/tunning bugs... they found several this past few months... and it kind of explains why the handling feels so off in the game with most cars...

that and th imput lag still very present on the PS3 ruinned what to me seemed like one of the most promising Racing games on console.
