Following GT6, will GT7 be an automatic purchase?

I guess another important question relating to this would be 'Is GT7 going to be a totally new game or a PS4 version of GT6?' Kaz was talking about GT7 being released within a year, if that happens I can't believe it will be anything more than an updated GT6.
He did say GT6 could evolve into GT7 if they bring it to PS4. Well, that's the opposite of my post earlier then lol

GT7 is a complete new design @Johnnypenso, and yes it does have its faults, as would any type of code that has been rushed due to crying fan boys or company backing, either or its does have its faults so deal with. In all it’s nothing like GT5 and never will be, though it’s hard for so some of you to believe. I agree that some core areas need attending to and as for the areas that stayed the same, you can grip with the WHOLE GT community or the people whom asked for those areas to stay intact for reasoning unknown. As for the tuning, it can be improved greatly, fixing the flat camber and toe center rotation of the cars. The on-line will improve a great deal because the options are yet to be complete as we all know.

Knowing it’s a whole new platform and nothing like any of the predecessors along with jumping the gun knowing the sim isn’t complete along with judging and comparing it the GT5, knowing the history that brought on so many changes. I forgot the KEY areas to but there no need to explain those, no need to go Einstein again and confuse everyone even more.

If it evolves into GT7 within the next year then to me thats more reason to expect more of the same with possibly the only real improvement coming in how the smooth the game runs, If it comes out within a year then you have ask will there be the same amount of tracks, More tracks or less tracks? If there is at least the same amount then surely that would mean they have imported tracks from GT6/5 that were importoted from the PS2, Would GT buyers PS4 buyers still accept this lack of quality control on the PS4 too?

God i hope it wouldnt evolve into GT7, such a waste potential given the hardware is more powerful than PS3. They should build it from ground up.

You can keep saying it all you want and you and others believe it or so it appears, but in most key areas outside of physics, the game is identical, near identical, or worse. New cars and tracks yes but that's a given with every game and nothing to rave about. Continuing to say it's completely new and full of changes and a new platform doesn't make it so, at least for many disappointed GT fans.

I'm a knuclkehead that did preorder the anniversary editon of GT6 and I even still like the game despite every fault people have pointed out. So yeah, I'll end up probably buying GT7 if it has enough new cars and tracks that I like.

If people keep asking for the same crap @Johnnypenso what do you aspect? Come on man COMMON!!

I hope they don't rush it. PS4 games are not as spectacular as system specs compare to PS3. It will take about year before we really get "next gen" games. So far even 60fps gameplay is not standard on PS4 let alone super HD graphics. Example comparison on graphics:
Now picture that video with PS2 vs PS3 :D

But that was a game made for both consoles. The gap will be bigger when you start looking at games made only for the PS4 (ie FM5 vs. FM4) Only bigger because the PS4 has more POWAH than the Xbox One.

I am done with the GT series. PD has had plenty of years to develop a fantastic game and they have failed.
My reason for buying a PS4 is the release of Project Cars. Seems that one game developer reads the GTplanet forum, because if you read the feature list for the upcoming Project Cars, the game have all the things that GT6 is missing and all the things that GT fans wants in a racing game.

I will most definitely buy GT7 at launch. I've been playing Gran Turismo since I was 12, I'm 27 now. I've grown up with this series, it's practically a part of my life. However that being said, I am definitely getting a little discouraged with the way the series is going, or not going. GT6 really does seem like a step sideways, not forward as the OP said. I really do like the new physics. But the AI on the other hand is the worst AI i've experienced in any GT. Add to that the missing features and super short career mode and I can't help thinking this release of Gran Turismo really hasn't moved the series forward at all. Perhaps some major updates will change this perception, but I'm doubtful.

If my DFGT doesn't work and the sounds and AI are terrible, I will most likely give it a miss.
Also, if I hear the "it will come on a patch" line from anyone at PD, I will definitely not buy it. I hate any company who releases a half-finished game.

Project Cars sounds completely insane! Someone send this to Kaz & his team at PD. You guys may have some work to do.

+1

Project Cars is going to be what I want GT to be.

GT7+ is an automatic purchase for me. Flaws, disappointments and all I still love the series. Each version has been at least a little better than the last and while I want them to add/fix a lot of things and certainly have a list of grievances a mile long the core experience is still very enjoyable. Doesn't mean I will be passing on any other game. Project C.A.R.S. is my current hopeful for a series that truly competes with the GT series. Maybe give PD a nudge and push the GT series to be more current.

I'm still undecided on which platform I want next. I was happy to see that GT6 was on the PS3 so I wouldn't be forced to decide. Depending on how much better GT6 get throughout its lifetime will be a big factor if I go with XBone/Forza or PS4/GT.

Project CARS sounds like Shift. ;) Or at least what Shift wanted to be.

It could surprise me, along with Assetto Corsa and rFactor 2. But it depends. PC sims really don't have much soul to them. These guys could have a life of their own if the gaming experience is as fun as it is technical. And that's my knock on sims, that they're pretty much soulless platforms designed for online racing and leagues where skillful players can compare the size of their trophies. It does seem that these new games take into account this massive gamer base that focuses its time on offline racing, so it could be awesome sauce.

But who knows. Gran Turismo has spoiled me, giving me more than a thousand cars with a sense of ownership with every one of them. I know a certain number here are completely underwhelmed with a laundry list of fail for GT6, or Gran Turismo in general. But several million people don't seem to have the same reaction you do, and keep coming back for more every game. GT5 sold more than a million copies last year, about as many total as GT4 did, and it was supposedly the worst game in the series. So, yeah.

I don't expect GT7 for another year or so, unless sales of GT6 utterly tank, which I can't see. There are too many goodies coming for it, and disagree all you like, but the basic game is pretty solid. The physics and car kinetics really take it over the top, so I'm thinking GT7 will be a teaser trailer at E3 this year, with the game possibly showing up in 2015. I could be wrong, but I'm almost certain that GT6 has at least a year's legs on the market.

This sounds very interesting! I hadn't given much thought to PCars but it does sound like it could be everything I want GT to be. Will definitely have to keep an eye on this one! Perhaps I will get a PS4 afterall...
