Following GT6, will GT7 be an automatic purchase?

Hell no, GT6 was way too short.. and they removed a ton of features that were in GT5. This time I will wait until I know what the game is like, and how short it is. I won't be buying a PS4 until after GT7 is out, and only buy one if GT7 is very, very good with an extensive career mode.

I bought GT1,2,3,4,5 & 6 without thinking twice. With all the drama surrounding GT6, I have to say I'll be waiting when 7 is released before I spend my money. When comparing GT5 & GT6, instead of a step forward I think they stepped sideways!
No, I still have not purchased GT6. Still disappointed about GT5. I bought 1,2 ,3,4,and 5 without hesitation. 5 was just not impressive I expected a bigger leap forward.

I forgot.. Also if PS4 / GT7 doesn't work with my Fanatec wheel and pedals (even if I buy a new wheel).. then I won't buy a PS4 at all..

Same reason I'll never buy an XBone.

They broke backwards compatibility with wheels people spent a lot of money on.. and then expect you to go buy another one. Not cool, and it won't be cool if Sony does that either.

Unfortunately, as GT has no direct competitor, GT7 will be an automatic purchase. Consoles definitely need more sim racers, we've only got one! Can't even play the main rival Forza without buying another console 👎

Luckily, I'm not getting a PS4 until they release a 'slim' version so by that time GT7 should be at least a year old and I'll miss the stupid beta test period we're currently in with GT6.

You're forgetting about Project: Cars

given the PS4 is a huge leap from PS3, logic tells me that GT7 should be a lot better and will be a huge leap from GT6, that is if PD manage to fix the sound, AI and bring a lot of events. But really, i expect them to polish all that given the PS4 is basically more powerfull than PS3.

It seems PD's vision has been let down by the old hardware of the PS3, so I can't wait for GT7 then we will finally be able to know what PD can do without the 'console limitation' excuse.

What Project CARS does offer is an alternative and a damn fine one if lives up to the hype.

GT5 was not an automatic purchase for me. I'm glad it wasn't, because although I wanted a PS3 just to play it for a long time, when I borrowed a friend's copy I was sorely disappointed with it. GT6 WAS an automatic preorder for whatever reason (the 15th anniversary thing was part of it)...I had faith that PD would turn it around. I did not like GT5 at all but I am enjoying GT6 a lot. It will be a while before I can afford a PS4, but if I end up getting one before GT7 comes out I'm not sure if GT7 will be an automatic purchase or not, just like the hugely anticipated GT5 wasn't for me.

Not an instant purchase because I don't have a PS4, and don't plan on moving to PS4 in the near future.

However, if I did have a PS4, then I would pre order GT7, warts and all.

So my question now becomes; Would I buy a PS4 for a single game - GT7 ? (given my PS3 Favourites are not playable at present)

My answer is no.

Admittedly, I did buy the PS3 for one of the launch titles, but I also wanted a bluray player, and I didn't have a PS2 or PSone.

Absolutely, I never had the original GT but have bought 2,3,4,5 & now 6 and have enjoyed every single one of them. GT6 is pushing the PS3 to the limits so hopefully GT7 will push the PS4 to its limits also, if it does then it will be a fantastic experience.

Yes I did, thanks for reminding! Totally forgot that it was getting a console release, I remember a few years ago when Simbin were supposedly making GTR3 there were rumours of a console release, but we just ended up with RRE, which sucks imo.

Same here, I bought a ps2 and ps3 purely to play the GT games, I won't make that mistake again with gt7 unless it's ridiculously good from the onset. I mean I can overlook the bugs/issues because I like cars and racing in general but so disappointed by the initial content and lack of the track creator they advertised like it was a day 1 thing. I should've waited a few months b4 I bought it but didn't want to start getting engulfed in a game with summer coming on.

I'll get GT7 on release day just as I've done since GT3. Do I have issues with some things in the series? Of course I do. The good folks at PD are never going to produce a product that is everything to everyone. No one can. Am I disappointed in GT6? Not really. GT5 isn't the same program that I booted up when it was released and as time goes on I expect that GT6 will be improved as well. It's far from perfect, but I didn't expect it to be. Personally, I'm having a great time with it and I'm looking forward to the coming updates. I've managed to have a lot of good times with every edition
so far and I have no reason to believe that the
next one will be any different.

Just my two cents.

A bit off topic but that's quite the interesting avatar you got there. Might need to find my old night light tonight.:scared:

I won't get GT7 until GTAV and GT6 is totally done, I'm getting my money's worth from my PS3. :P

Same, i got 1 - 6 on release day and whilst i have been disappointed by 5 and even more 6 i know that if 7 came out tomorrow i would buy it.
I already have a PS4 but with a severe lack of games i hardly touch it.
