You're right. That IS a weird idea. Barrel, bottom and scrape are three words that immediately spring to mind! 'A' for creative thinking though, John!

While we're on the subject, you could do 'Musical Statues' or 'Musical Braking Times'. The last person to stop moving completely from 100km/h when the music stops is out and the last one left is the winner. Hooray! :odd:

that would take hours and in that time you'd need to take a p*ss so how you gonna go to the toilet ? lol

Welcome to GT Planet and the concept of sarcasm

I would like to see a RUF Supercup series, with race modded RUF's only. with a hp limit of 500.

Jay

Some RUF's have more than 500Bhp as standard, theres a new RUF supercar due out next year, mid engined 600 and odd Bhp killer, it's not based on a Porsche it's 100% RUF's work.

DOH! should have known that, OK then how about 700hp? The more I look at that new RUF the more I like it.

Jay

How about this for a endurace race:
-Challenge Micheal Schumacher (Cote D' Azur 80laps one-on-one)
=Challenge Schumy with the same car that you have.

-Challenge Tommi Makinen (any 'looped' rally stage 50 laps one-on-one)
=beat him with the same car that you have.

I think a lenthy court case would happen if PD put thoes into GT4, nice idea but edurance 1 on 1's would be boring imo.

It would be interesting. But if GT4 has such a deal, it would mean more of a cool endurance if you take F1 racers out of their element and challenge them in a sportscar race. For example, imagine a race where you faced:

Michael Scumacher
Juan Pablo Montoya (one of my favorite racers)
Kimi Raikkonen
Ralf Schumacher
Takuma Sato (I wanted to include a Japanese racer to represent Japan)

It probably won't happen, but it would be interesting if they can cut a deal with the FIA (which would mean a longer delay before the game officially ships).

Another interesting idea would be:

Japan vs. Europe Sportscar Challenge
- Japan's GT and Sportscar stars face off against Europe's finest Sportscars. If a GT car is entered, GT racers will be one championship. If a sportscar/prototype is entered, the other rivals will be sportscars/prototypes. All in fairness.

Sport Compact World GP
- The best of sport compact cars from America, Asia, and Europe face off in a worldwide grand prix to show which car is the best commercially available sport compact.

American Cars 1960s vs. American Cars Present
- No matter which side you take, America wins. However, it's yesterday's ground-pounders versus the hotrods of today.

How about a staggered race you pick your car the computer uses a matching level f1 car and they start four laps after you and try to run you down on a fifteen lap race

:) its my first post weeeeeeeeeeeeeee:D

Welcom to GTP, that could be interesting, have you seen the mismatch video in GT3?

It would be interesting to see a GTA/GT crossover (sorry I don't predict this this should be somewhere else probably)
For example a GT game where you can walk around your city and into car showrooms and buy them.
Or a GTA game that concentrates on racing the cars more.

I have no idea what I'm talking about do I?

No, but it's entertaining:lol: .

I think I see what you mean though, have a 3d city you can move around in, go to and from the dealers and tune shops ect, and walk around inside them.

Someone that has been trained to interpret fluent idiocy! :D 👍

Thank you for converting that into english for me.

That a good idea or bad idea? It would probably take up too much space though.

It's a good idea, but I doubt it could work on PS2 due to memory and space ect.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. :(

However when the HDD comes out.....?

How about these:
1) Tag Team style races. Like in the fast and the furious. You have to go down the back straigh of the Test Course and around the third and fourth corner, then runi nto your partner car to 'tag'. Then, he has to go all the way around the track to the end of the back straight, then spin around a cone WITHOUT HITTING IT and come back and tag you. Imagine the fun with four players???

2) a Suzuki Alto Works championship. 10 racess at these locations: Leguna Seca, Seattle Circuit, SSR5, SSR11, Leguna backwards, Grand Valley, SSR5 backwards, SSR11 backwards, Test Course, Test Course backwards.

3) a USA race across America event. You can only use these cars: Dodge Viper Team Oreca, Dodge Viper GTR, Cevy Vette, Vette Grand Sport, or Mustang GT.You race on every teack that is in the usa in that game, gonig from the west coast all the way across to the East coast, then a massive endurance at the end, where you have a track that has long straights (usually brought up by quick double hair-pin turns) and pit roads along a stretch that goes from Sacramento California all the way to Tallahasee Florida.

4) a strickly stock series.

5) a Zonda Championship.

6) BEAT THE ESCUDO!

7) bring back the Suzuki Cultus and you have to beat both the Cultus and the Escudo back to back on every rally car using a car of your choise (except the Escudo or Cultus)

8) under 13,000 pound championship. As the name says.

9) a Complex string 100 lap enduro using nothing but these three cars: Suzuki Escudo, Suzuki Cultus, and Suzuki Alto Works. The AI is even in this race.

10) a regular complex string 100 lap enduro.

11) triple threat: Vipe vs. Vette vs. Mustang. only one of each, counting you. 3 cars, three tracks, TWO losers.(the vette and the 'stang ;) ;))

12) a wet Complex String Rally using nothing but Suzuki Cultus Pikes Peak Rally cars.

13) Pikes Peak Hillclimb/down-hill.

14) a 'beginer' liscence series, unlocking the beginer and sunday driver cups. This is a very easy liscence test, very east to get platinum rank.

15) Platinum rank on liscence tests.

16) a ricer championship. Nothing but supras and celicas that are decked out designer wiser but power wise are still stock.

17) under 50,000 credits spent championship. Use a cheap car and still win, heh?

18) a handicap race. you have to beat a BMW in a one lap race on complex string. you can use any car that isn't completly moded, ie no 181 esucods. Just get the stage three mod instead of 4. Easy. Oh, but the bmx does like a 10'00'xxx time, and you take off on 7"00'o99. beat him, and you get 1,000,000 credits. Lose, and you..well..i won't say.  :D :D

And..i'll have more later.

The list is quite impressive, got to hand it to you man!

Dang! My brain is blank. :)

-'True' rallies. Not a closed course, but point A to Point B.

-'Cannonball Run' I'm sure that many here know what this is.

-Isle of Man TT - for cars, not bikes.

-Sprint races One or 2 laps.

-Mass races - LOTS O CARS

-The 'virtual city' idea - very good. You have to drive to dealerships, garage, carwash, tune shop, etc. One race center, though.

-A straight road that goes straight for a looooooong way for testing top speed.

-Dealership challenges (see GT2).

-Trans Am ish championship

- Drift competitions(network or online)

-Burnout or brakestand competitions (network or online)

Oh, and although this isn't exactly a race thing, I hope you will be able to set your own price for cars when doing a trade from memory card A to memory card B.

i also think it would be hella cool if u could drag race for pink slips and stuff and i like those other ideas a lot

how abot a lap knockout, 6 laps 6 cars and and a 6 race championship and whoever is in last place at each lap gets eliminated? and ya i got this idea from need for speed underground lol

This is not related to the topic I brought up, but how about selling cars for 1/4 of its value WHEN TUNED?

I mean, why the... well, I won't curse. But why the heck would you sell a car at $30,000, with a sale price of $7,500, and even when tuned, be able to sell it for the same $7,500? I know Gran Turismo's "currency" is Credits, but I chose dollars since many others like using it. I mean, if a tuned car has 175,000 Cr in tuned parts, why sell it for the same crappy amount? I remember in Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero (my 19th brithday present) that if I raced a car for more miles, it sells for higher. PD needs to work on this in case we have to sell our cars for better ones. Sometimes I won races, and then sold my car to get the 3000GT (like in Gran Turismo 1).

Here is another weird idea I had for a racing series:

- Decathlon Racing 1
I don't know decathlon too well, but as I hear, you run one way, then the other. Well in this series, imagine racing Grand Valley in normal trim. Then after that lap was completed, you quickly handbrake your car and go in the other direction, being careful that no slow cars are there to turn a road race into a demolition derby.

For a weird variation, try this:

-Decathlon Racing 2
The difference between the two is that in this mode, it's basically suicide. You race in one direction, and while you are racing in that direction, you make sure that no one is coming like a bat out of Hell at 150-200 mph (or 200-250 kph, although I suck at conversion factors). Then after you are completed racing one way, you must turn the other way and race in the other direction, and the rival cars will do the same in their respective directions.

Now how is this for a weird take? So how do you win such a race? You may be "graded" based on your survival techniques, and by avoiding danger. Or if this doesn't make sense, you CAN'T win this race. It is an exhibition, so bad results will not reflect. It's like trying to beat the final boss in the original Ninja Gaiden (I know because I CANNOT BEAT THE GAME!). Anyhow, carry on with replies, and uh...

"Happy motoring!" -Dennis Gage, of "My Classic Car"

(^_^)

I think a MR2 cup, with MR2 AW11(80's), SW20(90's), and Spyder(current) would be cool. I also think the idea in the above post would be awesome.;) ;) ;)

Now, my last two ideas would be killer. To make a new example, in the first Decathlon-style race, all cars (including yours) go in one direction on one lap. Then after crossing, you and your rivals must handbrake and complete the course in the other direction.

In the other variant of the race, only you go in one direction, and the other 5 will go the opposite route. You will start first so you don't hit anyone at the start. But later as the cars zoom in your face, you have to dodge them. When the rivals complete their lap, they must handbrake and turn the other way, same for you when your lap is complete. Then you must dodge them in the other direction.

I think the second idea would be more of a "Cheat Mode" or an arcade-only race. If GT4 is two CDs, why not put on crazy races for arcade? Come on now, Polyphony Digital (PD)!

Something i hate in GT3 is this: if you play a single race in Arcade mode with a car from your garage with tuning parts in it you will play with race cars or generaly fast cars!!!!
I DON'T WANT IT IN GT4
Its better to choose your AI opponent.
