Actually...the American TV series sucks. But the original manga and unedited anime are great. Funimation just screws everything up. They actually add things to the plot that never happened!

So don't bash DB because of its crappy remake...go buy some of the manga...or get a DVD of the anime. Then you can enjoy it.

I have a few episodes of subbed DBZ on my pc, I also have 3 chineese bootleg copys of the movies. I kinda just grew out of dbz after a while.

DBZ isn't all that bad. It's obviously not the best anime in the world. Funimation messed the whole thing up in the US. Say what you want, but I'm still going to watch it.

I could say the same thing about Gundam Wing, GCstyle. Its slow and irrelevant plot. Its childish, physics defying, simplistic animation, over-political, pretty boy storyline is no where near the original Gundam series.

Well ive never seen it so I dont know, but according to the anime magazine I used to buy said it was the program that gave anime a bad name in the us and the uk with certain "scenes" that were cencored.

I liked Akira the film, but there used to be a long running anime magazine in the UK called Manga Mania (or manga max after they changed it) which had the Manga of akira on it (the akira section took up almost half the magazine sometimes and it lasted for about 3-4 years!! ) and it was much better than the film, oh and it went on for bloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooody ages. Dragonball and DBZ suck because all the characters look the same. There are about 3 guys in orang suits with spiky hair. One guy is the hero, one guy is the villian (his suit has like 1 blue sleeve or some other way to identify him if you really really really pay attention), and 1 guy is a duplicate copy of one of them who is actually being possesed/mind-controlled by another guy (one of those big brawny monster guys with the little antennae). Except you can't tell if it's the good monster guy or the bad monster guy, because they look exactly alike, except one is a little lighter shade of green than the other.

Add to that the fact that every ****ing episode takes place on a barren waste planet with a yellow sky, and involves all 5 characters spending 23 minutes hovering around gritting their teeth, sweating, and saying "aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh eeeeerrrrrrrrrrruuuhhhhhhhhhhhh YAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!".

I agree, it sucks. And I even like manga.
