Hi I'm a bit of a newbie with this game I'm after some sensible advice I'm currently racing with a hori apex wheel ( no force feedback) I've been advised to bin it and get a g29( force feedback by getting a g29 will this improve my laptimes and improve my driving skills or would I jus be wasting my time ..sensible comments please ..thanks in advance

Yeah a wheel without force feedback is a significant disadvantage and in my opinion probably more difficult than driving on a controller, as even that will have functionality built in to support you.

I reckon 97-98% of potential can be found on an entry level FFB wheel like the G29, with a Hori you really are fighting an uphill battle by driving something that doesn't communicate back to you, kind of like playing Mario Kart Wii with the Wii Wheel attachment.

I've got the G29. I absolutely love it and think the FF has only improved with the recent updates. Reading all the issues many of the other wheel rigs seem to have in the game I'm actually not even considering changing a thing anytime soon...

Perfect ....thankyou

And what is a sensible force feedback setting on grqn turismo 7 on g29 ...I did try a g29 on forza 5 horizon last year qnd hated it as it was like fighting a bear !!!.. any tips qnd settings will be gratefully appreciated..thanks

I run the torque setting at 5 and the sensitivity setting at 10. Seems to work just fine with everything and I never really feel the need to adjust at all from car to car. FF takes some getting used to for sure - it does initially feel quite strange but once used to it there's no going back afaic. I still use the controller from time to time but it definitely feels like there's lots missing when I do.

Help....can anyone tell me a good basic controller setting for a g29 new to this game and new to force feedback so any help woukd be gratefully appreciated

It's just that. With the Hori, which from a technical point of view is little more than a wheel shaped DualSense, you give pointers about where you want to go and the algorithms decide how much to turn the front wheels. Not unlike on a pad where you give it full movement and hope for the best, and correcting oversteer consists of flicking the stick to the opposite direction and the game calculates the amount of lock you need.

The thing is, with a G29 you control the wheels directly - the more you turn the more they turn, and if you get it wrong there wil be consequences. It's an entirely different experience and the only way you get to grips with it is practice. There's no shortcut.

if you get a g29, theyre amazing but also the only one ive ever owned. im sure theres better but this is a good start.

IF you can spend a little more try and get ffb pedals too. i hear theyre coming down.
