Does anyone Know what the performance figures are for the 2005 Crown Victoria, like 0-60, 0-100, top speed, that sort of thing, as i can't find any on the net :grumpy: . Cheers.

Yes:

224hp (275lb-ft) 4.6L SOHC V-8:
- 0-60: 8.3 seconds
- 0-100: 23.3 seconds
- Top speed: 128mph

239hp (287lb-ft) 4.6L SOHC V-8:
- 0-60: 8.4 seconds
- 0-100: 22.5 seconds
- Top speed: 121mph

I wish CarSource was up. :(

(although, even if it was, I don't have Crown Vic data yet - though I do have Grand Marquis stuff - although it's for the previous generation. Hey, we're still growing!)

Wow the figures I pulled out my bum in a jokingly attempt to make the crown vic look bad is actually quite close to the real figures.

the figures you postes are actually above average!

Wow. I saw the thread title and I had to check it out. Do they even sell Crown Vics in England?

No it isn't sold here, we have pay high fuel prices over here because of our useless government (about 90p-£1 per litre) so it would'nt make sense to sell it here unless you've plenty of money or use it for weekend or something. Just out of curiosity, how Far would one of these go on a full tank on a Fictional 1000 mile straight.

I guess the gas pricing(and taxing) is pretty crazy in UK. 👎

According to Ford.com, Crown Vic should be able to cruise for about 475 miles at highway speed with a full tank of gas(19gallon tank, 25mpg).

Living in the U.S., that sounds so bizarre. If I win a lottery, it'd be a Lancer Evo, WRX STi, G35(Skyline), etc. for me. Highway speed is 55mph.

In US it depends, for us in Washington, highway speed ranges from 50-70 mph, depending on whether it's a state highway, interstate highway, and whether you are in a remote location or passing through a major city's downtown. For me, it's generally a good rule to take 60mph though since that seems to be the most prevalent on the interstate highways.

And my hwy speed would be 65mph - 90mph. :D I think Captain was asking about the highway speed in regard to the Crown Vic's fuel consumption. That's why I said 55mph(EPA testing speed tops out at 60mph). :)

Yeah he was, but our math teacher told us that the EPA tests the highway speed to be 45-50mph, and they don't test that over a long time, that's why the EPA gas mileage given to us by the manufacturers are high, and in real life, driving at 55-60 will not give you that amount.

How DO the EPA really tests the gas milage figures?

I'm not sure...... Actually, I thought EPA's city test speed were over 40 mph, but I could be wrong. I think most of us would agree that EPA testing of Miles Per Gallon is strictly just for reference.

Looks like acceleration, fuel consumption, and mechanical specs have already been taken care of, but one important thing to remember is that the Crown Vic is a big, heavy car that runs on an ancient ladder chassis. So it handles like a big, heavy, wet fish. :scared:

Even to us, in the U.S. I couldn't even imagine what it would be like to drive one of those on the smaller roads in the U.K. :D
