To clarify, Shelby Super Snakes were a very limited production run of the Cobra, not the Mustangs.
 
GT500 had a Cobra Super Snake model as well. 1968 for GT350 and GT500.

I believe that was a one-off in '67.
 
Yes but in '68 the Mustang name was dropped and they were just called Cobra GT350's and Cobra GT500's.

I hate them damn Contours. I worked on a '99 once and that thing was HELL. Ended up getting scrapped.
 
Pfft. A Contour just isn't a Mondeo. It just isn't.

Ford suck at getting their European cars to work in the States and vice versa. The Merkur didn't fare very well either, I don't think.

Then again, I can't recall a Ford USA car that was even sold in the UK, let alone one that sold well. I may have seen the odd Mk III Taurus, but perhaps only once or twice.

...It's pretty much the same thing...
 
To me, it just isn't. I know that they are essentially the same car, but especially with the Mk I, they used slightly different body panels in places. The Mk I Contour actually had better enginges on offer too, in comparison to the Mondeo.

Was the Contour a big seller or a flop like the Merkur?
 
The Contour was the alternative to the Focus and the Taurus here in the US. It sold pretty well back then but has since died out from problems and you don't see them much on the road anymore, if at all.

I'll have to get a video of my exhaust note although it won't be as exciting as Motorcity's or that 1500hp GT. :drool:

Here's mine, not as impressive as the Super Snake but I like it :D

Only has a Hushpower axle-back but I'm planning on installing the Boss side exhaust to bring the noise level up another notch. I need to take better pictures of this care, this is literally the only picture I have of it.

First car I bought in 1980 was a '71 Mach 1 .It wasn't exactly show quality , but it ran ! In 1995 I bought a '95 Mustang GTS that went through 3 engines before ending up with a shop-built forged 5.0 topped with a Procharger.In '02 I bought my favorite Ford so far...a Sonic Blue SVT Focus.
It's now 10 years old and I still really enjoy driving it. It's been my race car (Autocross and track time) , camper,moving vehicle and daily driver (great in the snow with Blizzaks) Three months ago the Focus got a big brother : '11 F-150 Supercrew FX4 5.0 .Sadly the Focus is up for sale.We have nowhere to park it,and my wife won't let me keep it as a track car :nervous: .
