Does anyone else feel like the physics were solid as hell until they jumped into this car?? IF you go around a corner at 60 (long corner on Fuji) and let off the gas at all your into a spin, heck even if u barely touch the gas you lose it!! WITH R3 TIRES!@#

Theres something defeintly wrong. If i drove this car in real life no way would it spin out doing 60 during a nice long bend. its ridiculous unstable.

(I dont use any Driving aids, Sim = pro) etc... I use a G25 and a racing chair (Clutch H-Shift)..

Another thing.. WHY hasnt anyone mentioned the G25 Wheel problem??? GT5p Does NOT support the CLUTCH!@#!@ WTF!# I pretend like it does so i dont get used to not using it, but WHAT GIVES!@# no one has mentioned this on various forums and reviews!@#

P.S.The G37 feels fantastic and all the other Front engine Rear Drive feel great.. But this is the first Mid/Rear i've tried and it feels very very awkward. Anyone else having this problem? Any other MR cars that have a very unstable feel?

The clutch for G25 is supported for cars which actually do have a clutch in real life (eg. Integra, NSX, Ford GT), you need to press triangle once at the start of each race to activate it.

I also find the GT a pain in the ass to drive, I personally never drive it, however other MR's such as F430 and Honda NSX feel great, even if it is a little tricky to pick up at first.

OH WOW! awesome man. i'll definetly try that. So whats up with the FordGT then?? why does it handle like a pig on roller skates?

i noticed that too. give it the smallest amount of gas in a turn, no matter what gear, and you're :scared:

Try spend some time tuning the suspension and you can eliminate most of the Lift Off Oversteer..
Ie Softer rear damper, stiffer front
Lower the rear ride height by 5 to 10 points
Try setting the rear Toe and Camber as well (not too agreesive on the rear camber or it will definately step out under brakes).

I have a setup that works for this car but would have to wait till i get home to post the settings.

Cheers.

never tried tuning it. Used it for the Class A races until i saved enough for the Corvette.

Well thanks, but i like to drive the cars just how they are by stock. In this case the car is really oddly tuned. Theres no way a normal car will Spin out if you Lift-Off at 40mph on a turn. NO WAY... its a race car!! lol a 1987 sentra wouldnt spin out!

The car is very unrealistic. Jeremy Clarkson didn't spin it on topgear and if it was this hard to drive, he would have.

well that makes it very very dissapointing.. I really wanted to feel the FORD GT for what it is :(

Looks like i'll have to Test it in real life.. :D

Also i noticed if u turn ASM on, it handles alittle more natural, but its still very off from where it should be overall.

Strange I absolutely love the handling of the Ford Gt! Now the Lotus Elise that's a car impossible to stop spinning!

Lift-off oversteer eh?

MR cars naturally turn more easily - the pivot point is the heaviest part of the car (engine/transmission). Problem is this means they naturally turn more easily even when you don't want them to.

Tell me about, totally undriveable POS. There`s no way in real life that car would handle like a dog on wet lino flooring like this thing does. :grumpy:
It does sound very evil and goes like its been kicked up the butt, any hnit of a corner at any speed at it instantly swaps ends. higly frustrationg for a car that cost`s $150,000 in the game. Money is hard to earn in GT5P! :ouch:

I have no idea what a Ford GT should feel like IRL..But this wouldn't be what I wanted for my money...

I never ever feels planted, does not provide any confidence in what the thing can or will do. You tip toe round 100R at Fuji and the back end still steps out, you feather the throttle and it goes to bits!! Try it on the so called pro physics and you'll see what I mean...

Some of this may just be down to the speed the car is traveling, trouble is it doesn't feel that much faster but you look at the clock and it is!

I guess I need to jump into the other heavy hitting MR cars for a decent comparison on the same track though

You would expect the handling of this car to be just about spot on though as the man himself owns two of the things right?

The only problem I have with the GT Tuned that it gets "loose" if you are behind another car/slipstreaming into the fast bends. Just be very gentle with the steering and correction of steering. This car needs to be driven very cleanly.

I think this has been said of other cars too. It's nice that the cars feel more lively to drive, but it seems they may have gone a little too far.

Just glad I haven't paid real €s for the cars, my insurance company wouldn't be too happy!

Ford GT has been my favourite since it first appeared in the series under it's GT40 incarnation (GT2/3?)

But it's not for the faint hearted and the standard settings are beyond comedy. Once you get it set up it's one of the best drives in the game as far as I'm concerned.

I think I must be the odd one out. After trying time and time again to get the elise reliable and fast I gave up and found the ford gt especially the tuned version an absolute dream to drive.

Sorry for the off topic comment but I would love to know how the top time was done with the elise at suzuka 700pp time trial.

I hear the Ford GT Le Mans version is is pretty good car though. Lkie graveltrap say`s it`s uncontrollable. I`m yet to spend some time to try and tune it.

Could not agree more about the GT. Love it on Daytona, but want to hurl the controller on anything else. Do people with a cockpit set up have any more success? I wondered if the ability to feather the accelerator with a DFPro might make a difference.

The Ford GT is the creator of Gran Turismo's favorite car of all time! I doubt he would make it handle worse than the real thing (he own 2 of them). Lift oversteer is the norm in MR cars, you have to learn to control it, or tune to try to get rid of it. Check out this notorious video of a dumbass in a much weaker, but still MR car discovering lift oversteer: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ThPCiCm36X4

I am also using the G25 with all aids off in professional mode. So far, I can't drive the stock Ford GT at all. The lift-off oversteer part isn't really the problem for me (as you can see from my new avatar I finally made, I'm used to the weight of a car hanging out there in the rear instead of being up front). The problem is that even the tiniest touch of the gas pedal gets you about 1/2 throttle, and the car immediately slips the rear out further, rather than tucking it back in as it should. The problem may simply be that our pedals are too sensitive, so we can't get smooth acceleration. Once you can tune a car, you can stagger the tires and that helps some.

This is a bit frustrating, as, after a LOT of practice I learned to drive the Ford GT very well in GT4. The handling of Ford GT in GT5P is so different that I'm not sure I'll ever get used to it.

I find The GT superb to drive, but at first it was a bit of a nightmare because it demands a totally different driving technique to FR cars. It's definitely worth the perseverance

I actually found that going back to the Amuse I missed the adjustability of the GT through the corners...
