Formula 2 Oscar GIF by Prema Team

Verstappen and Russell tied on time. Max set it first so he's 3rd on the grid.
Lewis ahead of Charles :)

Considering how close it's been in quali all year that is a chasm between Oscar and Lando.

With the drivers in the top 6, this could be an interesting race tomorrow. McLaren will be fighting for the win for sure cause their race pace looked better than everyone else. P3 looks like it will be a fight between Max, Lewis and Russell.

As long as they don't get mugged into turn 1 by the slipstreaming dive-bombers behind.

Could happen but with how the track is now, you can overtake and if their race pace is truly as good as it looks even if they lose 1 or 2 positions, I'm positive they can get it back. Either way, it should be an interesting start and hopefully a very interesting race.

Max looked not too pleased in that interview. I wonder if he made a mistake in his final run.

Sounds like qualifying was competitive outside the McLarens. Great qualifying result for Russell who i'll be supporting tomorrow from wherever i can find a spot to view from👍 .
The bank on the right into turn 3 had loads of space on Friday, but doubt that will be the same tomorrow plus its full on heat and sun all day there.

I did make my winner prediction yesterday and I feel like it was a good bet

Found a different motorsport today:

Monster lap by Piastri. Hope he and Norris can keep it tidy going into Turn 1 tomorrow.

That second row, though... Max and George are always a threat.
I found a spot yesterday behind the fence behind the fence as they go into turn 1. Viewing is restricted but it looks down the straight and might be good for the race start. If I can find it again
I feel like the race itself might be "over" by turn 2, especially if the McLaren's get a fast start.

I shall post here my location before the race start.

Getting excited again! :D

Alonso will be the lone Aston tomorrow however as neither Drugovich or Van Doorne (really?) have done any sessions this weekend. I do wonder, assuming logically that Stroll won't be ready for Canada in 2 weeks, would Mercedes be inclined to lend them Bottas as a known quantity over a rookie and a guy that hasn't driven an F1 car competitively since 2018?

Both of those guys are racing at Lemans ,SVD is a full time Peugeot driver and Drugo is a 3rd driver for AXR Cadillac. AXR could probably bring in IMSA Corvette driver Alexander Sims who has raced the Caddy at Lemans in '23 to replace Drugo since I would imagine his Aston Contract gives them priority.

I hope it’s Drugo. He’s been waiting patiently since his F2 win, been doing the work for the team rather than seeking any opportunity elsewhere. He knows the car more than Bottas (and I don’t think Aston are part of the sharing pool with Merc anyway), so give him a shot.

I guess Jak Crawford doesn’t qualify for a licence yet to be an option.

What a tragedy, who will ignore blue flags and impede the front markers now
Maybe just me being old and cynical but he still managed to impede the reserve driver. If Lance was in that much pain he already knew he wouldn't be racing but set a time in qualifying so he couldn't be replaced.

So nobody would be able to show they were much better in the seat.

Have a great day SirJim. We're not jealous at all 😉 don't forget your water. If your struggling to carry it all you've nearly got enough.

Anyone got any insight into Yuki's performance ? I'm guessing the latest TD on wing flex has made the car even more biased to the front and more unstable.

0 points for the time being due to bad luck, plus he is now getting quite old so there is that too,
Precisely, so the current consistent point scorer for Aston is sidelined and the old man with zero points and 'bad luck' is all that's left.

Alonso zero points, bad luck, Stroll zero points, bad driver.

Make it make sense.

Blame old man stroll for this.

Auto signing his son to the team and then complains how the team is always in the bottom of the WCC, similar to how the FIA just auto signs Monaco and then whines when its a boring race

Well the points scorer for Aston Martin is also the same bloke who tried driving back to the track over the gravel and beached himself.

And the same one that rear ended someone under a SC and then blamed that person.

But Alonso gets a pass for being naff because his dad doesn't own the team?

Either way, it amuses me.
