DRS no longer exists. It has been replaced by straight mode, which can be used in designated zones, regardless of distance to the car in front.
Think he means overtake mode.

That's not particularly visible, as it's just battery deployment. Straight mode is the wings opening, and looks like DRS.

That'll be a long stint for Antonelli if he goes for the 1 stop

That's twice Hamilton has been caught napping at T1 this weekend and this time it might be terminal for his chances of a win... that aside, even with these yo-yo regulations its still somewhat amusing to see that a dry Hungary race is still something of a procession when on the same strategy (albeit it took a lot more time to settle down)

Alonso is just casually taking his starting softs halfway through the race

Extremely impressive given that he ran as high as 10th but when he pits he'll be further down than the 16th place he was in. Makes me think either they're praying for a safety car, hoping a one-stop works or it's just a glorified but competitive testing session for the new components.

Gotta admit, its a little cathartic seeing Lando throwing a fit over not getting preferrential treatment after most of last season

Wow that was unnecessary

I was about to say Bearman was rather tardy in getting out of the way of Hadjar and Leclerc, then Sainz practically turns into Piastri... hearing that the automated blue flag/driver tracker has gone haywire.

Their mirrors still work and the blue light panels were very much working.

Echoes of Vettel shouting can be heard all the way around the world.

5 Second Penalty for Sainz, according to Brundle.

Edit: Still under investigation from the stewards, though?

Norris takes the lead from Kimi in lap 46!

Edit: I don't know, the FIA screen didn't pop-up during race.

True, but (as the F1TV feed just finished discussing) both the drivers and engineers may be so used to ignoring blue flags initially until notified that they've simply forgotten how to judge distances and get out of the way using the mk1 eyeball... which won't be helped by the aforementioned blue flags being deployed erratically or late if they're now manually operated.

Wow Norris is ultra impressive this race. Complete domination, hopefully no mechanical issues

I hope Norris go through without mechanical issue like Oscar and win the race. 🤞

Edit: 100 messages!

At least with Hulkenberg there's someone who respects the blue flags. Meanwhile he's well on track to get his first points of the season.
