So pocket change as far as they are concerned.
Good point from Zak. If your going to try this it should have a substantial penalty, if all your doing is throwing the brown stuff in the hope that some of it sticks.

What was Red Bull's penalty for the extremely dangerous pit lane incident (which also cost another driver 40 seconds) in the Sprint race again? Verstappen got ten seconds and it wasn't even his fault and he mitigated the danger...

Also, FACC standings for people who have passing interest in it:

1 - McLaren - 143pt
2 - Mercedes - 107pt
3 - Ferrari - 78pt
4 - Haas - 51pt
5 - Red Bull - 47pt
6 - Williams - 46pt
7 - Racing Bulls - 28pt
8 - Aston Martin - 19pt
9 - Alpine - 16pt
10 - Sauber - 14pt

Haas in fourth blows my mind, but until Miami it was one of only three teams to bring home both cars for a classified finish in every race...

Well darn, race was actually decent. Guess the extention is somewhat warranted for now.

Still think aesthetically its the most garbage out of it and Las Vegas. Again, Vegas has:

  • The Strip
  • The Casinos
  • The Name

its as close to a Monaco wannabe as the US will get while only needing to lean into its identity it already has.

Other then F1 themselves backing it, what does Miami have?
Much nicer lighting in Miami at daytime, much better temperatures, palms, beach, yachts, pools, party trackside and the name is as valueable as Vegas. Setting the race downtown near the waterfront would be better than the stadium but what they made of it is impressive.

Vegas must move to a warmer timeslot and going into the darkness (like Abu Dhabi) to be able to see the buildings, fountains and people instead of beeing in the middle of the night in November seeming to run in a empty city.

I'm warming up to all those tracks I used to hate simply because they make for better racing now that F1 cars are the size of cruise ships and barely fit on classic (European) race tracks.

I'd take any of those modern F1 tracks over the last 3 tracks we got in GT7.

My takes from the race:

1; Phenomenal pace from McLaren, never looked at any real threat, Piastri once again showing an super cool head to get the job done.

2; Further to that, it doesn't surprise me that McLaren were coaching Norris on how Piastri passed Max. 2 different approaches and it showed, Piastri knew what Max was going to do, broke harder, let him go wide and made the move, Norris is obsessed with trying to go toe to toe with Max, and even said himself after the race, you know what you're getting with Max, yet doesn't nothing to offer an alternative racing route.

3; Will commentators and pundits stop assuming that Norris is the world champion elect for 2025 and acknowledge that Piastri is the favourite?

4; I didn't understand the hate for Miami beforehand and I understand it even less now. It produces entertaining races with the opportunity for good wheel to wheel battles. I love the classic tracks as much as the next guy, but this was a better race than Suzuka.

5; Why did Tsunoda only get 5 seconds for speeding in the pit lane when he had absolutely no hope of getting down to the limit in time, none at all. Yet Max gets 10 seconds for a pit infringement that he wasn't in control of?

6; George Russel is just always there, no matter what happens in front behind or around him, just keeps racking up solid finishes.

7; Antonelli has started showing his true pace, I'm excited to see what he does when we get to the circuits he actually knows well.

The only person who seems to not be excited by that is Oscar himself 😂
Amusing post I caught on Reddit.

"I want to see Oscar win just so his championship interview might go, 'Feels really cool. Great job by the team. See you next season', and walk off."

The Lego race from Lewis' perspective, lol. More of this, please.
