Piastri (P8) to Sainz (P12) is just 0.021
Hadjar (P7) to Stroll (P15) is just 0.100

George thinking Max is up for some cooperation to screw Lando and Oscar

Max needs no tow but the McLarens will be happy enough.

Oscar on rear gunner duty tomorrow if he doesn’t jump Lando on lap 1.

Massive lap from Max. Geez. 😤

Hope the McLarens get off the line clean tomorrow. 😑

Hairy final corner for George. Wow. 😮

I think the team order chat will be happening tonight. Lando to follow Max, Oscar to back up George & Charles to create a safety buffer.

Oscar needed pole if he wanted to stay in the title fight.

And Oscar will just say no. It's still possible for him. Everything can still happen tomorrow.

Not sure that will happen
If Oscar eventually gets P2 or P1, things change
McLaren have a lot to do today

Oscar needs to beat Max and have Lando finish 6th or lower.
I admire his enthusiasm, but he’s not really in this fight anymore. He needs 2 very unlikely things to happen and I just don’t see it.
Lando can just sit in 3rd.
I do see a scenario though where Lando‘s nerves come into play and George snatches P3 from him.
George helping Max win the WDC would be hilarious.

Or Mclaren finish and one or both get disqualified for plank wear.

It's really straight forward, Oscar just doesn't have a chance at the title. Max is in a class of his own on this track.
All Mclaren have to do is get clean off the line, and have Oscar defend P3.
I assume Oscar smart enough to execute these orders. Mclaren cannot bet on two horses now, they'll mess it up. They have done so already too many times this season.

I think if McLaren ask anything from Osacr they will do so on the very last lap.
As long as he still has a theoretical chance they will let him race. At least I hope that’s what they do.

As long as Max is in front, there's nothing Oscar should do that could jeopardize Lando's race result.
The only way I can see Oscar finishing ahead of Lando is if Mclaren are in the race comfortable ahead of MErcedes and Ferrari, and there's no risk of losing P3. In all other cases Oscar needs to defend Lando's P2 against Russell.

This. Whilst he is the long shot, he is still in it, and will be until it is 100% clear he can't get it.

Then and only then will McLaren use orders. However, I don't think it'll be necessary, I think barring a dramatic start (which can happen, see last year), it is Norris' to lose.

Jumping on a thread I read from time to time.

If Max stays ahead at the start, my bet is that he will try to slow the Mc Laren into the rest of the field before the first pit stop. I hope Piastri will not take the bate of trying to overtake Lando. Or, the Mc Laren could come out in traffic of the hard starter.

Also RedBull will put a lot of focus on Tsunoda starting on hard and try to put him just in front of the Mc Laren after their first pit stop on medium.

Yeh, Imagine Piastri leading Max and George snatching 3rd, Oscar then lets Max through for the title LOL. I don't think so tho. I reckon Piastri should just try to win this race and not worry about the others.

My only worry is that something happens that feels dirty.
I hope RB don’t play dirty games with their 3 other drivers and I hope Max can keep it clean.

I may have made a big boo-boo. Gave notice to end my Sky F1 sub a few weeks ago and they tell me it’s due to end on the 7th. On Sunday. Those gits are sure to switch it off around 12:59pm GMT.
Make that 10:59am. Sods.

Luckily there are still some free-to-air broadcasters around the world. I’m Austrian for the day like the legendary Niki.

I'm off to a mates house to watch a title decider live for the first time since 2016. Hope Lando gets it won, Oscar next year, then hopefully Max in '27 driving a Newey Aston.

I usually follow races here but I'll pop back later with what I thought of it.

I'm going to my Dad's today to watch the race live with him and my sister.

I'm hoping that Max will just clear off into the distance and leave McLaren to a relatively straightforward race - Russell is the big worry for me, but McLaren will have to be very clear with Piastri about what his role is - it would be ideal for the race to stay in Quali order to McLaren, and that McLaren should swap Piastri back behind Norris if he gets past early; having Piastri to influence the order could be crucial for Norris today, and I think it would bode very well for him next season if/when the favour needed to be returned.

I just hope all 3 title contenders have a clean and good race, and it has been a great year for the sport - having three title contenders in the final race is a real treat.

Oscar looks quite chilled and happy. No real pressure on him.
