If you told me that Maldonado would win a GP before Hamilton at the beginning of this year, I would've laughed at you. But it's happened, really nice race and a really nice season.

This race being Williams' first victory in 8 years, and Maldonado's first victory, they sound awfully calm and quiet over it.

Yeah and when Red Bull win any race they act like they have won the championship. Really held back on the celebrations there Williams! :lol:
 
And after all this...he still stands in 9th in the championship.

Good to hear the british anthem on the podium aswell for Williams. Well done to Maldonaldo. One of the most thrilling starts the season ever, I don't have a clue who will win it.

It has to be Maldonaldo, winning his first race, and managing to hold off Alonso and not crack under the pressure.

Worst driver is surely Massa, again. Last finisher of the "established" teams.

Bit disappointing from Di Resta too.

Best drivers had to be Maldonado, Kobayashi and Kimi.

It's been too long since the last Williams win. Good win for Maldonaldo.

It's always good to see a new winner. That's five drivers and five cars in the first five races.

I'm Hoping Renault can make it six of each next time.
 
And Speed didn't show the playing of the anthems.

I guess it's due to them in a rush to get to airing the Chelsea v. Blackburn match coming up.
 
Pastor Maldonadooooo! Gooaaaal!

The results:

1st: Pastor Maldonado wins for Williams... its first since Juan Pablo Montoya, which was years before most of you were born. :dopey: Looked like he was in trouble when Alonso overtook him at the start, but he drove a cool-headed race throughout, controlled the pace of the race, and overtook Alonso in the pits. Afterwards, drove a masterful, tactical defense, egging Alonso into using up his tires in futile overtake attempts... then put the hammer back down to win it decisively.

2nd: Fernando Alonso: The man could drive a pig into the points. Given a decent car, he gets a commanding second place over teams that were much faster than Ferrari just three weeks ago...

3rd: Kimi Raikkonen: Maybe next time, Kimi. The Williams was in a class of its own today, but Lotus Renault are looking very strong for the season.

4th: Romain Grosjean: The best second driver on the grid today. Didn't quite have it that easy, but he got the points they needed.

5th: Kamikaze Kobayashi: Is that a Sauber or a cruise missile? Kamui does it in style, dicing with drivers up and down the order to finish a strong fifth...

6th: Sebastian Vettel: Finishes one place up from where he started... as good as you can expect after getting an unnecessary (slow down next time, eh Vettel?) drive-through... Despite the qualifying issues, that Red Bull looks very fast.

7th: Nico Rosberg: That Mercedes really sucks at saving tires. Nothing new. Rosberg drives all alone to seventh after losing places late in the race. Ross Brawn has a lot of work set out for him for the rest of the season...

8th: Lewis Hamilton: Drives a heroic race to eight to try and stay on Vettel's tail in the standings, after that unnecessary (put more gas next time, eh McLaren?) qualifying penalty. Two stopper on the worst race for tire wear anywhere. Absolutely fantastic.

9th: Jenson Button: Never has anyone had to work so hard just to stay in place. Once again, Button shows his vulnerability in a car that's not entirely to his liking, and that McLaren was just not to his liking.

No one else matters. Nico Hulkenberg was over a lap down. :lol:

Fantastic race in the midfield... battles everywhere. Carnage everywhere. Schumacher takes another guy out and calls him an idiot. Listen, Michael... the correct term is "Cucumber". Up front, it was a bit boring, but Maldonado, against expectations, made it look extremely easy. Even had time to play peekaboo with Alonso.

Now on Spanish mob hitlist: Charles Pic. Watch your back, bro.

This season will never, ever be forgotten in the history of F1.

The best Spanish GP ever probably? I have no idea what to say but Maldonado did a superior job, no driving mistake at all and he managed to keep under the pressure for probably the longest race ever he has experienced despite only having 24 starts to his career. Very well done to Williams for turning around their fortune and now they're a race winner after a loooooong time!

Great race by everyone. Don't understand the struggle faced by McLaren but the rest are racing like how they should be.

I'll take Senna-Schumacher 'buttkiss' as a racing incident because it looked like Schumacher was going for the inside, Senna misunderstood Schumacher and pull back to the outside, thus the shunt. Great race afterall! :cheers:
