Is the title battle about to change again? McLaren romped home to the Constructors Title in Singapore with their drivers comfortably in the top 2 in the Drivers standings too, but any early season advantage seems to have evaporated away, leaving a Max Verstappen sized gap at the front for the Dutchman to romp away at the front. The high-altitude nature of this next circuit has often made the race a bit stale due to less available downforce spreading the field out and critical cooling forcing them to not sit in the slipstream for too long. Low drag means record-breaking top speeds however, so let's see who is fastest at the MEXICO CITY GRAND PRIX!

Important weekend for Yuki, hopefully Red Bull give him more updated parts (Any leftovers from Max), might be enough for him to start beating Oscar regularly.

Hopefully Lewis can finally nail setup and qualifying, very important on this circuit to qualify well especially in a LiCo car and maybe can get his best result this season.

Lando always seems to find himself on the backfoot this season so would be good if he puts it all together as I think he needs to step it up a notch if Max is getting even more spicy equipment soon. Good opportunity to take WDC lead.

Also always very interesting to see how Lindblad is doing. Right now my money is on Tsunoda being out, Isaak moving "up" and Lindblad teaming up with Liam.

I'm reading rumors that Verstappen and Tsunoda are staying for 26 and Lindbald is replacing Lawson :nervous:

I do think the "best" case scenario would be Hadjar with Verstappen and Lindbald with Lawson.

EDIT: And unless Honda is still backing up Tsunoda (which I've read is no longer the case after they paid $10-20 million to put him in the 2nd RB seat after Liam "fumbled" two races. Plus the whole RBR-Ford thing for 26 and beyond), I can't imagine he sticks around in F1 if he does get sacked for Hadjar.

Rumour has it Piastri will be sitting out FP1 in Abu Dhabi. Absolutely crazy decision from McLaren if the title comes down to the final race.

They don't have much choice though, with the schedule and the FP rookie rules. Brazil & Qatar are sprints, so it's Vegas or the finale and it seems all the drivers want full practice sessions in Vegas.

Alex Dunne drove Lando's car in Austria and Oscar's in Italy. Pato is driving session 3 in Lando's car, not sure who's doing session 4. Should've done it earlier in the season but they were probably hoping the WDC was locked up by the finale.

Good news, Yuki should have latest specification front wing as Max has now plenty of spares. Team have a maximum of three tenth expectation. Apparently, his spec he was running was three generations old.

All that rule is not crashing into your teammate which all teams likely have that rule. It just sounds silly due to the name. Other teams probably have even harsher way of dealing with clashes. Only probably Max Verstappen can be above team orders without much of a consequence as he delivers too much on track for them. McLaren probably can't afford to be too harsh as they could give the title away to Max if they do, easy for teams further back to bench a driver.

The Race have an article on why there's so many FP1 rookies this weekend; basically the first free practice sessions in Mexico and Abu Dhabi aren't that useful as they're not representative of the rest of the weekend because the track is so dusty in Mexico and FP1 is run in the daytime when it's really hot in Abu Dhabi, so it's not much, if any, of a penalty to sit it out.

Obviously that's not how it'll be reported in the wider UK or Australian media, but Max will have won the title by Abu Dhabi so it's a moot point.

Liam has really improved a lot over the last couple of weeks. I think he deserves another season.

Not that I've seen or heard, his best lap today was quicker than his best yesterday but you'd expect that with track evolution. Plus it's only a tenth, Oscar and Lando have both found a second today.
 
Is the Ferrari pace real or did they have their engine turned up? Mercedes seems to be right in the mix as well. This qualy could be really tight.

Ferrari always seem to be ok in practice and then just disappear.

So far so good for them but in qualifying they usually don't perform as well as they do in the practice sessions.

Maybe a little issue, but mainly looks like a lack of confidence with the car.
