Hoping for a good result for Kobayashi. It might just get him the publicity he deserves. To those wanting the race to resume, maybe 20 seconds before the red flag, I thought "the rain is far too heavy".

I want to see a race too. But I don't want to wait for a big crash taking out half the field.

I would love to see him win. By way of banzai move on Vettel, not Vettel crashing out. :D

They are the best drivers in the world, but they have to be bubble wrapped with health and safety when it rains a little bit.

If its to dangerous because its wet, then pirelli have failed at wet tyres.
 
They better be careful eitherwise the fans will leave in droves and you'll have an Indy all over again!

All this just is rediculous, we didn't even get a proper start! agree, the FIA and also the drivers need to grow some balls, if its wet RACE SLOWER!
 
I cannot believe that some of you guys cannot see why the red flag is being sported. I mean, look at the track! There's a heavy shower expected to last for another 20 minutes. Every little inch of the track will be completely soaked. Do you want to drive 250+ kmph in that sort of rain? Even the wildest of rain tyres and setup will not help any driver - regardless of skill - in these conditions.
It may be boring and sad that the race seems to be over, but come on - if a driver was seriously wounded or, god forbid, killed during these conditions - how would that be?

Clearly, red flagging the race was the only solution.
 
Kobayashi can get new tires now, no need to pit. Possible podium? I would be amazed 4th last race now this? Shouldn't get too excited though

Wouldn't help. The bottom of an F1 car aquaplanes, not just the tyres, and the driver would just be a passenger.

It was the right decision to stop it as it just becomes a lottery.

Bridgestone tires wouldn't be able to displace this amount of water either. It's raining hard.
 
why is it everyone loves kobayashi so much? Don't get me wrong I'm not saying I don't like him but I only recently got back into F1 so I know literally nothing about him.

I remember when races took place in conditions like/worse than this. The nannying now-a-days is kinda annoying. It's like a spot of rain means that it's un-raceable. It's ridiculous that they started under safety car & it's daft that they got a safety car just for a bit of rain.
In one reason I would be annoyed if they red flagged it like Korea but on the other side of things koba being second I wouldnt mind a red

This isn't exactly a spot of rain, there's masses of standing water. Cars aquaplaning is absolutely a reason for a red flag/safety car.

Stop being selfish and think of the guys having to actually drive the things and putting their lives on the line.

I'd be surprised if they get going within half an hour. It's really wet out there.

If they race at the moment it is just russian roulette... this seems not to be comparable to indy at all, weather is not in your hand.
 
I think they should be made to continue the race on foot until the rain stops!

Arms out streched, pretending to drive and making car noises!

I just can't believe how amateurish Ferrari are. They are f-ing up things that even the HRT guys manage to get right. And it's not like it's the first time. What is their budget? About the same as everyone else's combined and still no one within the team is able to read a weather radar.

i too just started following f1 a few years back so i dont know what all the hype is... but i do find him to be entertaining to watch time to time as he pushes hard and crashes lots :lol: ..

When I started writing that it wasnt really that bad. Now I completely agree with the red flag now.

They can't.

F1 cars do not take kindly to being driven slowly. Ignoring the fact that the wings need speed to work so that the cars can actually corner, they need a crapload of energy (in the form of accelerations) in the brakes and tyres just to function. If they lose temperature, the brakes literally stop working and the tyres lose pressure which reduces the ride height - which brings a big, flat plank of wood on the bottom of the car into contact with the road which, in wet conditions, leads to aquaplaning.

Going slower means cars which cannot stop or turn riding on a planar sheet of water to a very inevitable crash.


Also, and you are by no means alone, it's "ridiculous". No "e"s.
