We say goodbye to Zandvoort this season with a Sprint weekend as the Summer Break comes to a close. Silly Season has been on hold for a while as everyone is basically waiting to hear where max Verstappen is going. he has now stuck at Red Bull until 2030, so all the rest of the grid can begin to stick or twist. Talking of Red Bull, a wrist injury for Isack Hadjar means he will miss this race at least, so Liam Lawson gets a seat swap into the second Red Bull, while Yuki Tsunoda takes Lawson's seat at Racing Bulls. A big opportunity for both, how will it go around the sweeping turns, dusty exit kerbs and close walls of the dune venue? We will only find out at the final (for now) DUTCH GRAND PRIX!

I had to watch replay of Sprint Qualifying, because I was busy watching Premier League. Anyway, George Russell took the Pole Position for the Sprint Race tomorrow.
 
Charles and Ollie the only two starting on Softs. I forget... is Zandvoort rough on tires?
 
Gusty winds, dusty track. Might cause some incidents.

Edit: Hulkenberg must have an issue, he's plummeting backwards, losing seconds per sector.

Congrats to George, Charles, and Lando on their Sprint podiums.

I had hoped the McLaren had more pace. I'll just have to wait and see if they have more in Qualifying and tomorrow's race.

Thank god this is the last f1 race. Never should have gone there in the first place. Totally unsuitable for F1 cars, no flow and no overtaking (1 in the sprint).

2023 and 2025 were genuinely brilliant races around this layout with proper overtaking and racing though.

On a track with basically no overtaking opportunities that would require a major strategy difference, or something like a well timed SC. I highly doubt it'll be possible.

In terms of weather, there's a few small drops falling now, but nothing that should affect the start. There's a small chance for a tiny bit of rain near the end of the race, but again not enough to really affect anything.

Lewis is first of the runners with a new set of soft tyres. I would prefer he uses it for last stint than trying to gain positions at start as then he can pounce and be in a position of strength when it matters. He seems to have fixed his setup so if he can be strong like Charles was, on a long race, it could come to him especially if the others battle hard in front of him. Only issue he has had is front locking though so if he is careful with that, could be a promising result.

Edit: Looks like they may start on inters given the current condition so will be good to switch to softs as soon as it is dry enough for confidence in them conditions to make the difference.

I'm betting it'll be like Montreal. Anyone not starting on slicks will ruin their race.

Wind will probably be a bigger factor, it's very gusty

Going to spice up start, could easily make or break your race depending on timing and decisions. Lewis was struggling to get temperature in his tyres for qualifying so wonder how he will do in the first few laps.

They just kept open the possibility to check the track, but it pulled away. Regular standing start.
