I think he just went a bit too low, went on the slippery white line
 
Wow, so glad no-one hit Max on the exit of that corner - scary moment, but glad Max is OK
 
Looks like Max actually got away with at least 2 near misses before the crash.
 
Lisa Gabi does a 360 spin at the same time as Max's crashed.

Ouch, bad luck. Rear lost it away from the white line, and just too slick for Max to catch his counter-steer.

That’s a huge hit for Verstappen. It doesn’t get much worse than a massive snap of oversteer to send you head on into the wall.

When I saw Max in the wall my first thought was was Liam got too ambitious.

Thankfully Liam was not involved and Max seems fine.
 
I cant believe how long it took for the red flag to come out. Commentators saying ' this might a red flag'...really, ya think? Glad to hear Verstappen is ok.

All drivers were past the crash within seconds, so it didn't really matter that much, as long as it was out before the first cars reached the banking.
 
The DJ playing the Verstappen song right now is certainly a choice 😅

Yeah true, though in the last 5 years or so they've thrown the red out instantly for much lesser crashes. Also oh no Bearman out :(

Oof big one for Max there. One for the stat man I wonder. How many drivers have poor grand prix right after they've re-signed with their team?
