I haven't watched the sprint yet but gauging by the reaction of everyone who watched it FP3 would have been more exciting and interesting

Seeing them do their qualy runs in fp3 would have been more interesting to me.
 
Plus, it would also make main quali a lot more exciting instead of going into a session where we pretty much know the quali pace of everyone.
 
If they insist on these events I would just run a reverse championship sprint on Friday instead of the sprint quali session, then Saturday and Sunday as normal.

The big teams could just cruise around at the back and protect the cars as they don’t care about these sprints anyway, and you’d have the weaker teams willing to fight up front for some rare glory.

Hopefully a bit more entertainment but minimal impact on the proper championship.
 
I'd like to see them try the F2 format and but make the sprint race a little longer, like 150 - 200 km instead of 100.

Sprints don't work because there isn't strategy at play. Without a pitstop or tyres wearing out, nothing really happens. The only time Sprints are ever interesting is if it rains (Austria 24, Miami 25) or when it's held at Interlagos. Other than that can anyone think of anything exciting that happened in a Sprint that wasn't just "well that would have been more fun if it was in the main Grand Prix".

The argument of "Sprints are more exciting than an FP session" don't really stand when it makes the main Grand Prix more predictable...
 
I definitely prefer the traditional format. The build up towards the race on Sunday feels more exciting.
 
I wonder if the race strategy is to start on the hard tires since it impossible to pass and then try the undercut the rest as soon as possible?
 
Verstappen has changed the rear wing for proper quali. More downforce with rain expected.
 
Antonelli out in Q1, along with the Astons, Colapinto and Bortoleto.

Kimi’s recent slump not great timing if Max does become available for Mercedes. He’s looking more like someone who could do with some seasoning away from the main team.

EDIT - Lewis has time deleted for track limits. Out in Q1!

Yuki within 3 tenths of Max. He’s almost got the same car as Max now and might be figuring it out.
 
VER on new tires for the last run, needs .4, Tire data updated with everyone except LEC and BOR on new tires.

And takes Pole. Piastri 2nd. Really consistent and good progress from yesterday.

P2 may the best place to be with the slipstream, even if the McLaren DRS isn’t as powerful as other teams, but if he doesn’t get a good run on Norris he’ll have Charles and Max right up his exhaust.

Leclerc great lap to grab 3rd ahead of Verstappen.

Looks like Russell has gambled on a dry race. He was fastest in sectors 1 and 3 but superslow in the middle of the lap.

Heavy rain in F3. Start behind the safety car.

There have already been incidents behind the safety car and without completing a lap, red flag.

Honestly, it's impossible to drive in those conditions.

Hopefully, the rain will be less by the time the F1 race comes around, because otherwise, we'll be in for a new 2021.

I think similarly.
Spa with its elevation changes makes it take a long time for the water to drain, plus there are areas that look like a river.

It's a magnificent circuit, but with dry asphalt.

GTs and WEC can race in the rain, but for current F1 cars it's impossible.

In F3 they started a second time behind the Safety Car but they finally showed the red flag.

It was raining less but the amount of water on the asphalt was insane.

F2 after two laps behind the SC are racing.

Hamilton, Antonelli and Alonso take new power units, over season allocation so start from the pitlane.

Sainz from the pitlane as well after a setup change.
 
Starting to rain now, and looks likely it will turn to torrential rain before the race start.

Might be a repeat of 2021
 
Track doesn’t look too bad at the moment, not huge amounts of spray, but more rain is rolling in. I think we’ll be delayed or behind the safety car.
 
Raining really hard now, but it's expected to dry up just after the planned start time. I wouldn't be surprised to see a delayed start, but we may have a race on a drying track after that.
 
Fernando on DAZN Spain said it's going to be a very long afternoon with delays at the start and a possible red flag.

Has told to fans that we should grab some drinks and food and get comfortable on the couch.:lol:

He also said he hopes 2021 doesn't happen again.
 
Looks like someone came across the YouTube video that already mixed the movie’s theme with the normal intro weeks ago.

Love Hans Zimmer and the song, but it fits the movie’s tone, not the real intro.
