The final run-in to the Championship has begun, as we have 3 Sprints and 6 Races to determine the winner of the Driver's Championship, after McLaren secured their second consecutive Constructor's Championship in Singapore. Austin hosts the fourth Sprint race of the season and it promises to have just as much excitement and worth as every other sprint race ever. A circuit that allows for some exciting battles and racing, COTA has proven to be one of the better Tilke-designed race tracks, and an excellent addition to the F1 calendar. Will McLaren still try to enforce Papaya rules, or will they see sense and let their drivers fight for the title? We will only find out at the UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX!

The commentators during Singapore noted the McLarens should be able to get back on form here (& the next couple rounds) as the track suits their strengths. Will be interesting if that rings true given both drivers are now facing the pressure of each other & other teams have caught up since Stella shared the team stopped developing the car a while ago.

Of course they will. The more interesting question is whether the drivers wil continue to obey the rules, and whether Verstappen can take advantage and show how dumb the whole thing is. We can only hope.

Is there an unwritten rule this year that the USGP needs to be special liveries only?


Half the field have now shown special liveries for this weekend. Williams, Haas, RB, McLaren and Aston Martin so far.

Williams is sick though.

Not the first time at COTA. Red Bull chickened out using this last year after revealing it first.

Maybe they'll tell him he has to tow Oscar in Q3, even though Oscar will already be fast enough for pole.

That VCARB just reeks of a recent arrival to Austin. All it needs now are chunky tyres, 24" rims, a pristine truck bed and matte black paint instead of white.

He can’t. There would be “repercussions”.

The two McLarens will now have to avoid each other at all costs, and may well hand the title to Max whilst they’re more concerned with keeping it all fair & harmonious.

He’s still bang on the pace after the first run of SQ1. Hope remains - for now.

Can't say I like McLaren's livery. 😑

Hulk getting in to SQ3 and grabbing P4 for the Sprint makes me happy.

Max doing Max things. He'll likely win the race tomorrow.

The VCARB looks even worse in the cold hard light of day. It's like an old Italian grandmother's "going out on the town" outfit. Hideous.
