It's Monza so Ferrari's main rival had to be put as far back as they could get away with.

TFH

Something fishy is going on this weekend. Ferrari has silly speed out of nowhere and now with the start grid shenanigans.

Not to mention de Vries defeating the goat, Latifi!

Oh please, not more conspiracy theories

Oh no. We need more. Like, why is Lewis not performing? Has his racing soul been stolen by the Goatifi?

Spooky!

Edit.

I am currently enjoying 8 6 Extreme beer, this may or may not contribute to me enjoying silly times in this thread.

So which rules appear to be violated?

Sky did mention Verstappen being 7th, so there must be something to it. I didn't catch the reasoning.
Verstappen himself said he thought he would be 7th.

IIRC, penalties used to be applied in the order in which they were declared - as Verstappen was quite late in declaring the new ICE, other drivers would take their penalties before him, which is why his 5 place penalty is intact.

Those rules were changed a few years ago. Funnily enough the motivation behind the change was to make it simpler

You know it's confusing when even experts struggle to decipher it.
Baffling why F1 has decided they should leave Ferrari in charge of deciding who starts where.

This is supposedly how they did it. Basically what I did, but the difference is the grid closes up before the penalised cars are slotted in and two drivers can temporarily hold the same slot.

But we still don't know for certain that is what they did. They really should release their own graphic.

I think Scott Steiner is the one applying the penalties. Ferrari have a 141 and 2/3rds% chance of winning.

Even with Scott Steiner maths Ferrari still have a 3.33% chance of winning.

Anyway on another note, it really does seem that the football hooligan crowd is gradually flowing into F1 as it increases in popularity. There was all those reports from UK, Austria, the small subset of Max fans at many races being awful and now we have a subset of Italian fans singing offensive songs about Max's mother and generally being abusive towards Max fans. Several reports of them being forced to remove their hats or outright leave "Ferrari" stands that are no such thing.

Saw another video of a beer swilling idiot at 9am forcing a Max fan away.

I don't know how they'll do it, but F1 really needs to do something about this widely. Not just "we condemn this blah blah". It's getting more widespread.

Watching the intro, it said Alonso set "No Time" & in 6th?

The whole event seems like a disorganized **** show for fans.

He made it to Q3 and moved up due to penalties for others.

edit: My bad, the final session is called Q3. I think he bailed on his first run on used tires and I guess he didn't go for his last go or his time was deleted.

Max is an absolute freak lads

Magnussen is MORE than a little way behind Russell, Crofty...

Good first few laps for De Vries, kept it clean and tidy, didn't lose any places.

Maybe the Italian fans gave Verstappen some extra motivation.

Verstappen needs to turn the AI difficulty up...

Sainz is flying through the pack, Perez is climbing up and Hamilton is being awful

Perez front right brake is still on fire, half way around the lap...

Can't quite believe it's been 11 years since I was at Monza...

My spot for the race looks like it is no longer open to the public, but it was one hell of a vantage point (looking straight up at the Ascari chicane), and not for from the 'Ferraris Only' Car Park...

Two trains of cars while the top 3 drive away

Vettel go kaboom.

That was one super cheap pit stop for Leclerc. VSC ended just as he left the pits. Damn, game on.

Long way on those mediums though. Might be hoping for another VSC/SC later.

Now they’re forced on a 2 stop, I thought they would have went with hards.
