After a small break, Formula 1 heads across the Atlantic for the second time this year. Montreal is often one of the best attended and most colourful races on the calendar, at a historic circuit which Formula 1 can still have great races at. Iconic corners and every version of a chicane you can think of, this track is hard on the brakes, perhaps playing into the hands of Aston Martin? The Wall of Champions has not claimed a World Champion victim since 2011, will Hamilton, Verstappen, Alonso or De Vries become the next to bury their car in it? We will only find out at the CANADIAN GRAND PRIX!

Going into this weekend, hopefully Lewis signs a long enough contract to potentially get up to 10 WDCs.
I just hope Aston's early season pace wasn't a false dawn after a crap Spanish race.
They are meant to have a sizeable upgrade for this race, let's see if they can really take on the Red Bulls although this was not a track they were super strong at last year so going to be difficult especially with the straights. It would be great if the home driver can win. Aston Martin did a great job last year with upgrades and over the winter too. Silverstone couple races afterwards looks particularly interesting as might show a new pecking order as a lot of teams are bringing upgrades for then.

Red Bull are meant to be bringing a new big floor upgrade soon so hopefully it is not too big a step and is catchable for the rest so the season ends with more of a chance for proper fight for victories as Red Bull are too fast on straights at the moment given their downforce level to be able to contend with them. There is no guarantee all teams will nail upgrades and setups so makes this season interesting to watch. Given how close the teams are and how sensitive the cars are, a small thing could be worth quite a few places. All it takes is both Red Bull drivers to mess up their setup going into qualifying and it could be an interesting race for victory.

Forecast currently suggests random showers all weekend, maybe something interesting is bound to happen?

Alpine off to a poor start. Gasly with a driveshaft issue and car is stuck on track. Didn't even record a lap.

These conditions would be brilliant if we can have them for qualy and the race as well.

Soaking wet in places, a lot drier in others, but not quite bad enough anywhere for a red flag.

They didnt fix that stupid road block at turn 1. Cars either have to cross the grass and drive over a curb at a 90 to the track or turn around and drive against the flow of traffic.

Sainz got reported twice during FP3 and now he's gone and done it again! That's going to be slam dunk penalty even though he had no where to go in this instance.
