My tires are gone then makes fastest lap after fastest lap.

Max is now only 5 seconds behind Lewis - but Max now needs the rain to hold off otherwise he'll lose his strategic advantage if he has to pit for inters in the next few laps... Lewis will be hoping it does rain, but he may have to stop before it starts which would screw him over badly.

The rain is still very close to the circuit but holding off for now...

If Lewis pits and then it rains.
Max wins as he has to go from hard to inter/wet
Lewis will go from Medium to Hard to Inter/Wet

Not happy that it happened, but I'm glad that McLaren made that mistake with Dan instead of Lando, and will hopefully not make the same mistake again...

Max complaining that his hard tyres are dead, while Lewis is setting fastest laps on his mediums... doesn't sound great for RB strategy here.

Good point by the commentator (Karun?) that Max would have to do the 2nd stint on a softer tire. He seems to have really eaten up that hard tire passing every one, and the softer tire wouldn't be any friendlier doing it again.

Car is lighter at that point though, so tires do last longer.
I think it's more about finding a gap
 
Hamilton into the pits for hard tyres, and Verstappen comes in right behind for Mediums...

Looks like they're already hinting that Max is pushing on the meds, but may not be able to do that the remainder though he has another set ready.

Edit* Wrong tire, not currently on hards.
