Wow I never thought to count how many of each manufacturer we had and it's as even as it could be. 6 Hondas 6 Porsches and 5 Ferraris was that by some backroom dealing or shear luck?

hmmm, i gained 5 places but only went 0.02s faster, torn as in which setup to use

My fault for not posting this info with the Q Results. The original post has been updated but here it is again.

Earth can I use my first setup please

Im guessing you mean your Australia setup?

Thanks, very interesting, probably a bit lucky to take third.

WHY is this happening to me? every race i run great in practice but yet i run way slower in qualifying which i don't understand now. Felt like this was going to be a great season for me but not anymore.

6th, 3rd, and 3rd in pre-season testing

DNF (the only one) in my first race, 6th in the second (Qualifying in 3rd), now in the third race, with the people in the upper table is able to buy upgrades, I'm being left behind, now I changed decent setup for a really bad one

I can guarantee it's going to be a close race. Top 9 within a second (best lap) of each other.

Look what I found. Last season's starting line-up music (aka. badass) :p

Why don't you do the the starting line-up grid preview anymore @Earth? Too much work or just not important enough?

Hopefully I didn't find this out after everyone already did.

We've all dwelled on the qualifying result for a couple of days before the race, get straight to the racing!

Though there also used to be an intro!

Its a combination of both. I've taken on alot of extras this time around and I think its important to shed as much fat as possible so I dont get completely overwhelmed. As pezzarinho17 says its not quite important enough as the results are already known ahead of time now.

As for an intro video, I put together a few things but nothing I liked so we dont have one for now.

This Montreal race really crushed me.........My technique worked, the cars started on the grid in the order I wanted to, but for some reason they decided to drive erratically? If I didnt mess with the grid the cars would drive fine. But if I created a custom grid their driving line would be whacked, they would drive all in the grass etc.

Basically a nightmare.

So a solution! Started messing around in the season option instead of exhibition race weekend. What caught my eye is that the AI entered the season race in a certain order, and that order did not change as the sessions of the weekend progressed. Turns out in season mode the AI lineup on the grid according to their car number if you do not run qualifying. So I went to the .veh files and edited the car numbers so the grid would match the qualifying results. And it worked. Race videos are uploading now.

Hopefully i finished on podium or top 5 cause the porsches meed to get a win or a podium finish.

I wonder how it would have gone if I had 2 stopped, or if I had maintained my lead from the lights... A very good win for @optiongamers though, as said already - dominant!

We got our podium and now sit second place in the standings. Last season we came from further behind to win the ultimate prize and still hope to repeat that feat in season 2!

Lot's of DNF's :scared:

I really need to step it up in Monaco to get back to the upper part of the table like in pre-season :ouch:

:(, at least I can afford an upgrade, was 10K away last race

Ugh, podium streak comes to an end with a bang. Now I'm convinced Maldonado is driving my car.

Unlucky for @swiftsmith again, the carnage in the wall of champions was unreal. Although it was quite funny seeing the wheels randomly fly across the track after Gerarghini(?)'s wreck. A bit disappointed with the result, it looked like a podium till the AI moroned out. Could've been worse though,at least i didn't lose a wheel or anything.
At this DNF rate, Monaco's going to be interesting.

Nice one @optiongamers !

1st Place - optiongamers (FIS/Ferrari)
wC7QGZq.jpg

Q: You beat an entire army of 1 stop cars with the 2 stop strategy what does that say about your car?

optiongamers: The car was very well suited to the track with the Ferrari engines as it was expected.

Q: Your thoughts on Hockenheim 1998 being removed from the schedule as there were 'too many Ferrari tracks'?

optiongamers: I am dont mind the change.

Q: Are you concerned at all with the pace pezzarinho17 showed at Montreal?

optiongamers: No not at all.

Q: Hondas are expected to be strong at Monaco. Do you think you have any chance at all against them there?

optiongamers: I can agree that Hondas are expected to be strong at Monaco and there will be a lot of crashes as well so it is all down to luck if there is going to be a good result.

2nd Place - pezzarinho17 (FIS/Honda)

O2pcMFB.jpg

Q:
You were in really good shape until you lost nearly 10 seconds stuck behind RACECAR. How do you think this race would have ended had that not happened?

pezzarinho17: The result would have been the same, as Optiongamers lost time in traffic too. The little things added up for sure, but it was the decision to split the strategy that handed the pace advantage to Optiongamers and with it the win.

Q: Can you explain your somewhat slow start to the season?

pezzarinho17: Looking back to our fantastic first season, we are ahead of where we were then after 3 races. A lot has changed this year so there is a lot to learn and I feel we are on the right curve as the results are improving. Now we have 7 races to close the gap to first.

Q: Are you happy with the Balance of Performance between the 3 engines?

pezzarinho17: The engines are very different, but the power from the Ferrari is a good match for the lightweight Honda unit. The Porsche engine seems to be struggling at this stage as it doesn't have an area where it is strongest. We are wary of all teams though, regardless of engine choice.

Q: Your confidence level heading to Monaco?

pezzarinho17: Monaco was the breakthrough race for us in season 1 and I would like a repeat! The Honda engine will help I feel but we'll find out where we are in the practice session. Finishing the race is the real goal for everyone in Monaco I think!

3rd Place - Peasantslayer (FIS/Honda)

yZN3R6f.jpg

Q: What is it going to take for your car to take that next step and cross the line first?

Peasantslayer: The driveability is very poor relative to the other quick cars, the car turns in very sharply which is great but it suffers from understeer mid-corner and that big transition between oversteer and and understeer really seems to unsettle the car but more importantly hurt the tyres. If that can be fixed we should be able to push for more podiums and possibly wins.

Q: One could claim you were only the 3rd fastest Honda at Montreal, behind pezzarinho17 and JohneyPixel. Does that concern you?

Peasantslayer: Of course it's a concern after such promising start to the pre-season tests and the pole in Sau Paulo but Montreal was more about damage limitation for us and to take our first podium is great for the team, fans and sponsors.

Q: In your first FBS season are you satisfied with just bringing home a few good results or do you consider yourself a serious contender?

Peasantslayer: It's hard to consider yourself a serious contender when you see what @optiongamers is doing in the races and the advantage he has in the championship table, having said that the car is very fast and the attrition rate is high in the races so I wouldn't rule myself out just yet.

Q: Will your podium at Montreal transfer over to Monaco?

Peasantslayer: Early on in the season I'd say I was probably 2nd fastest in the slow corners to @pezzarinho17 which is what Monaco is all about, if the driveability is improved and we have a clean qualifying and race I'm confident that we can go for the win.

Randomized Interview (has not been interviewed before and did not DNF)

7th Place - AJHG1000 (FIS/Honda)
YvuFldN.jpg

Q: Your car appears to be decidedly mid-pack, whats changed between now and testing?

AJHG1000: First, I won't call it "mid-pack" but "Dark Horse" ;), Second, I think it is the difference in the number of chances of improvement we had in pre-season and the chances we have now at the season, but we're working on hitting the bullseye in our first try.

Q: Have you written off this season already after starting with a DNF in Australia or do you think you can still do alot of damage?

AJHG1000: Write it off? No, do some damage? We hope so, obviously, a DNF is never good when your main season objective is to finish at the upper part of the table at the end of it, a DNF keeps you away from valuable points and upgrades to make you keep up with the fastest guys, but this is not over until it's over, we are all going to fight for every point in our reach.

Q: Monaco is the closest track to Jerez we've gone to this season. Is this the race where you get back on schedule?

AJHG1000: Who knows, now we have the opportunity to get an upgrade, we should be in equal conditions with the fastest guys out there, as we were in pre-season, we are aiming really high on this race, and being optimistic, we can even expect a podium :), being realistic, a Top-5 is good enough for us :D

Q: What was your inspiration for painting your car? Its beautiful.

AJHG1000: Team Penske's 2011 and Force India's current liveries, at first I was planning to make a Team Penske look alike livery, but in the end I just took as an inspiration, then I was looking for sponsors and to make it look better with the colors of the logos, I got inspired by Force India's current livery, but instead of orange, I grabbed red and a orange-ish yellow.

Hopefully I can take pole with a couple of little tweaks but the difference between practice times suggests traffic could ruin some peoples qualifying.
