that was a good race but im mad at my pit crew 6 sec pit stops why I want 3 secs next time lost positions due to that.

'storms off to yell at pit crew for not being quick enough'

At least the next race isn't too far away so I can get over my stupid driver going into T1 completely unchallenged and leaving it without a rear wing... :ouch:

1st Place - JohneyPixel (FIS/Honda)
PUAmvyK.jpg

Q: Before the race got going, did you think you had any chance to win?

JohneyPixel:
No, not really, i was hoping for a podium finish, but i did not expect the victory. However the setup worked good and I had a bit of luck as well, leading to the win.
I'm not complaining

Q:
Did you learn anything from the race about the pros and cons of either pit strategy?

JohneyPixel: Definitely.

Q:
How confident are you in the performance of the car heading to Brazil?

JohneyPixel: Interlagos is not easy for a setup ,it's one of my favourite tracks though, i'll try and do my best

Q:
Do you see yourself a serious title contender?

JohneyPixel: I think it's too early to say that.

2nd Place - aarror (FIS/Ferrari)
0Oa7ZDD.jpg

Q:
2nd place is a strong result for the first race of the year. Are you happy with the car's performance?

aarror: I am very happy with the car's performance. There is definite room for improvement, but the team has identified the areas that need work and we will be making changes ahead of round 2 in order to stay competitive.

Q: Why did you choose the 1 stop strategy?

aarror: Can't give everything away :p

Q:
Your car smashed into optiongamers around the time of pits for one stop cars. How disappointing is it to have both Ferrari front runners taken out like that?

aarror: Obviously that was a bit of a disaster. Lets just say relations with Maranello are a bit strained at the moment. However, to have 2 Ferrari cars on the podium after a tough preseason is very encouraging.

Q: You now lead the league with 4 straight podiums dating back to last season. How are you able to perform so consistently?

aarror: Last season we found a competitive setup straight away, using knowledge gained from making setups on iRacing. We have adapted that setup for use on this season's car, and it seems to have transferred well. There is a definite step up in competition this season, so it's going to be tough to keep the streak going. #drivefor5

3rd Place - optiongamers (FIS/Ferrari)
wC7QGZq.jpg

Q: Two races in a row at Albert Park you have the dominant car but fail to come away with the win. What is it going to take to bounce back the very next week like you did at China last season?

optiongamers: It was quite a lucky win in china by getting such a small margin of victory. If the team is going to try and repeat the results it had in Australia in Brazil then we have to keep the pace going and hope everything goes well.

Q: Are you surprised at the elite performance of your car?

optiongamers: Sort off I didn't really expect to be leading half the race and take pole. I was expecting some of the Honda drivers to be up at pole and dominate race compared to other drivers.

Q: This was your first podium in 6 races. Did you realize it had been that long?

optiongamers: I know it has been a long time since a podium but I did'nt exactly know it was 6 races.

Q: What is your team going to do differently this year to avoid a slump like last year after starting so hot?

optiongamers: I think the team will have to keep the pace it had in Australia and hope for the best.

I know it's a shorter track but it looks much closer here, seem to be losing a bit of time in the middle sector which my Bob can hopefully find.

Now that I'm going to be around all season, I can make specific setups for each track.

🤬 it, Might as well go ape with the setup. My driver is gonna finish poorly anyhow so I might as well make it entertaining.

wow i actually made a setup for once and now im going backwards why does this have to happen to me

The programs only work online. So you cant change the setup after qualifying.

Im not giving up looking for a way, though
Maybe you could get a grid editor, allow people to edit their setups between qualifying and race, and then edit the grid with the new setups.

@JohneyPixel
@Jahgee1124

I THINK we could be ready to go for custom grids which would allow drivers to change setups and pit strategy after qualifying if they wanted to.

All the grid editor programs and hotkeys only work online. And after spending lots of time on google searching for answers I found none, so I had to find a way myself.

This is how I did it: Started a race with only practice and race sessions available. No qualifying or warmup. Booted the 17 FBS AI drivers from the field. Then started adding them back by clicking on the add AI button. I wanted a grid that was in alphabetical order. So I kept adding and deleting AI until I found aarror. So I kept him and then started adding and deleting AI until I found AJHG1000 and so on. Because the sessions went straight from practice to the race, the game kept the order in which the AI were added as the grid order.

One bug though. Sometimes when advancing to the race the game would switch around the order of a few AI just to irritate me. I found a way around that by advancing to the race after adding each AI, and then backing up to practice. That seemed to stop the random reordering.

Again, this will not be available for the Brazil race which starts in about 7 hours. It MAY be available for the next round in Montreal once I playtest it some more and make sure works fine. But at the moment it looks good

I have finally caught up and watched the first race, very eventful! 5th is a very good result to take from a race disrupted by the loss of the rear wing. It is a long season, so we're happy with a decent points haul. Was off the pace on the one stop strategy up to that point, but gutting to have to pit 5 laps from the end! A lot learnt and hopefully more of the same for the next 9 races!

Sorry it is late, but a huge well done to @JohneyPixel on winning the first race!

Damn you aarror, like a moving roadblock with that Ferrari power, had a few near misses with a few cars but picked up some good points.

Another good points haul, but more questions asked than answers given. Laptimes seemed to suggest I should have been second, but my driver seems frightened of rear wings everytime he got close enough to apply some pressure...
Well done to @optiongamers though I think @Gerarghini deserved that one! Good call with the strategy @aarror as well, tyres didn't seem to degrade at all...
