No you heard right, they switch cars.

Are the electric engines unable to sustain race pace? Never read about this part before so this is new to me.

Formula E's website is unavailable so no information from there.

One of the commentators mentioned when drivers go to the pits they jump out and into another car. Never heard of that before or did I misinterpret what he said?
The cars don't have enough battery life to last a full race distance, so the drivers swap chassis halfway through.

So far they don't have the batteries to sustain a full race in race pace so they use separate cars. Formula E could have done battery swapping but they want car companies to find direct fixes to the battery issue instead of just fast charging.

Out of curiosity, do you guys watching the ITV coverage have Dario Franchitti and the other commentators on your end as well?

Thanks guys. 👍 Rather interesting, thought they did have the battery life for it, but I'm not quite following this that closely to know.

They need to tell the drivers to go faster on the parade lap, it was too slow.

Nice start from Heidfeld on Chandhok. Lets see how the rest of the race goes.

Yeah, we do. Must be the commentators on the world feed.

We need slow-motion coverage of how close they get to that street sign and barrier on the final corner. Looks really tight in there. :scared:
