So far they don't have the batteries to sustain a full race in race pace so they use separate cars. Formula E could have done battery swapping but they want car companies to find direct fixes to the battery issue instead of just fast charging.Are the electric engines unable to sustain race pace? Never read about this part before so this is new to me.
