Wow I came here to say how much I enjoyed the last race (and Dario's hilarious commentary, e.g. main guy: "he seems to have a braking issue", Dario: "it looks like he didn't press it"). Instead I augmented my ignore list first.

Just strikes me as amazing how beautiful the cars are and how fun it is to watch them race. Nice circuit as well. And great noises, again with a good mix so the cars were loud but we could hear the commentators if we listen for that.

My only complaint is I wanted to see more onboard - they seemed to switch away from it after a few seconds every time. Also, if they have a camera facing backward at nearly street level, it would be nice to see one in the nose that low too. So as we see the following car trying to get closer, we can switch back and forth to show the leading car trying to get away...
While I'm a bit skeptical of the actual pollution savings of electric cars its interesting to see how much power they could get, I think their limited to around 160 hp or something? Does anybody know if their total power is more or less than the MGU-K, MGU-H ERS in F1 without the combustion engine?

Qualifying spec is 270bhp, race slec is 200, ERS is 160.

I see throughout this thread that people are bashing the series for little reason. If you are a Motorsport fan, which I assume considering you're here, then you would surely watch this for the good racing. I watch Indycar, WTCC, BTCC, GP2 and GP3 for exactly the same reason.

Well the battery tech will certainly improve over time and let's hope that will tip the pollution savings more in favor of electric ... but it's important to remember that gasoline also requires a hell of a lot of energy to produce, transport, etc so has caused a lot of pollution before you even put it in your tank. Anyway, I think having a racing series is a good way to help push the innovation along too... so maybe Formula E will eventually be able to run flat out on one battery with 300-400hp for a full race distance.

I hope electric cars will become more prevalent simply because instant torque at zero RPM and basically no maintenance costs (apart from tires which I go through every 2 years or so thanks to some spirited driving) sounds pretty awesome.

Plus, I want the dinosaur juice preserved for racing, instead of blowing millions of gallons a day out everyone's tailpipes while they are parked in traffic. Some part of the car guy / racing snob in me dreams of a day when cars that still use gasoline come with a manual transmission only, while automatics all become electric.

In all the various series I've seen Legge race in, she's been rather unimpressive.

Nice to see JEV get a ride with a good team. Hopefully he can make an impact that can get him somewhere next season. Then again, racing for Andretti could at least open a door to Indycar.

I think Legge was only ever "impressive" in the Deltawing, however that car has yet to win a race

I'm still behind and missed the Putrajaya race. Now, we got the Formula E race in Punta del Este, Uruguay. I've got to catch up. Now for those who dislike Formula E, you may ask me something like, "why do you care so much about THIS series?" I just want to keep tabs with the series and see the races as they happen.

Good luck to all drivers and teams this weekend.

Basically a massive "Screw you" to Red Bull. He's only driven that car for a few minutes and he sticks it on pole. Talent or what?
lets see their current pre-schoolers do that!
