Only one more driver to fill at Andretti Formula E who will partner Franck Montagny. I am thinking a young English talent like Jack Hawksworth or Jordan King. I would like to see young British talent represented. Too many more established top name drivers like Nicolas Prost, Nelson Piquet, Bruno Senna and Lucas di Grassi.

Charles Pic was driving the car in a few of the practices so my bet goes with him but I was hoping to get an American driver on the grid.
 
I nearly forgot the season starts this month. My hopes and my interests are still high for this championship even with many naysayers and doubters. There isn't going to be anything epic of mind-blowing about Formula E. However, I do think this will be a possible leap forward in the evolution of motorsport and perhaps even an evolution in racing design and such. I would love to see these cars driven in anger and how the races go.
 
I'm just happy Fox Sports 1 is showing it live, I was worried they would stick it on FS2 with a delay.

I'm also not getting my hopes up for the series, but I might as well give it a shot.
 
I'm attempting to go to the Long Beach race, The race is free but everything else is very expensive, Too bad I'm not old enough to go alone yet (2 months short :ouch:)
 
Almost done making a iCal calendar file for Outlook for all of the races thus far.
 
Any news on the battery cooling? Was speaking with one of the guys last weekend and his answer was "errrrr..... dry ice". The cars go into a limbo mode to save the battery at 40°C, but the ambient temperature of some of the countries they're racing in is 35°C.....
 
Formula E starts this week in China, have the spotters guide! :p

i have big expectations from this series, worth watching only for the drivers imho.
The only thing that bothers me is fanboost.

Saturday morning not Sunday and I just read on the BBC that practice, quali and race all happen one after another if it hasn't already been brought up.

Well they are kind of closing down capital cities ;)

And there's no support races, they could do with a G-Wiz Cup :p
 
I am going to highly interested to see how this new series plays out. My vision is that the teams will probably try not to push the cars too hard early on. Or WILL the teams really push these cars? I know when I keep seeing Le Mans, the key is to push those cars as hard as you can as you have a very long distance to cover. We only know so much about these Formula E cars and how far they can be pushed. This weekend's race will give us at least some idea of how this series will play itself out.
 
Kinda interested in seeing how this goes. Too bad we in the US will have to find an alternative method to see it.

Justin said it earlier on this page and I checked my guide and it starts at 3:30 AM (EST).

I haven't really been following Formula E closely, but I will check out the first race. Except I may or may not be able to watch it live, because it starts at 12:30 am in my time zone. Though I may be able to catch it, cause I'm usually up that late on weekends. Good thing I can record it. Apparently the Speed channel still exists in Canada.
