What happened to the hobby forum, and why was the computer/photography forum integrated into the off-topic section?

Regarding the Hobbies forum, it was merged into the Rumble Strip, but lives on via thread prefixes.

Oh nice sub headings now, it is heaps easier to get to forums like GTA IV now. I think it should be renamed to just GTA though because it isnt all about IV.

It unfortunately looks a little bit messier like this BUT it is way more convenient. Thanks for the continuous improvement to GTP Jordan . I also see it is Grand Theft Auto now, no IV, double thanks.

Wow, everything is being shuffled every time I come back, the whole gaming section is everywhere.

Personally I think it is a bit of a mess Jordan. I think the order should be:

• Playstation 3
• Playstation Portable
• Xbox 360
• Nintendo Systems
• PC Gaming
• Then stuff like shift and forza
• Gaming in General
• other games
• Cockpits

That seems more appropriate to me.

EDIT: Also the Gran Turismo section seems a bit odd. While I know GT PSP and GT5 are the newest it doesnt look right, it should be GT5, then GT5P, then GT4, THEN GT PSP. Just suggestions but I think it would be a little neater.

Ok, that looks heaps better but I have another suggestion . I suggest that you change the other games heading to 'Games' and put all the consoles under a new section called 'Consoles'. What do you think?

Yes, I'm considering that, though I'm hesitant because of low interest for the Xbox 360 and Wii forums (which would, logically, have to be included immediately below that category).

It's much nicer to have all the hobby threads in one easy to find spot, rather then having to scroll through the multiple threads in the Rumble Strip.

Like this? Just click on a thread prefix to be taken to that page. I'll eventually be linking to all thread prefixes near the top of a forum page as well, so you can quickly choose them just as you would a subforum. Take another look at my explanation of thread prefixes for a more in-depth discussion.

Jordan...loving the update BIG TIME. I love how GT5, GT5p and FM3 (my favorite 3 sections) are prominent on the main page with the easy access.

One has to wonder though...less clicks to sub forums, will that give you less ad hits for your funding? Granted, people "could" just bookmark their section, but I tend to be too lazy to do that since I visit 3 sections and I don't want 3 bookmarks just for GTP.

Yes, it will probably result in a few less page views at first, but if it encourages people to participate in a wider range of topics on the site, it will be worth it in the long run.

I'm liking this shuffle around alot. Having spent nearly a whole year on the last configuration (I only joined about 1 year ago) this is taking some getting used to but I love all the new smaller links you've put in place. Definately moving this forum in the right direction and bringing it more inline with features avalible to you.

I would just like to take the time out, to say that I like the new layout and structure of forums on the main page, the gran tursimo forum is particularly well laid out.
