Neither could amar212. But he also feels this same feeling.
That's fine and dandy, but really, it goes back to how using "special feeling" as a reason for why GT5 is good is not a good reason.

Always amusing when people can't come up with actual reasons for GT5 being better so they talk about a "special feeling" and other such meaningless statements.

I knew it. Gran Turismo is a religion.

I'm not saying it's good. I'm simply saying that personally, it's a quality that GT games used to have for me. This has nothing to do with how GT5 is good. Because honestly it's far from it, the more you look at it. I have not once claimed that this makes the game better, or even good. I'm simply stating that I personally have found this a quality of previous GT games.

Exactly. It's just frustrating to try and have a conversation with someone about anything and when you ask them why something is better they say "It just is" or "It has that special something" and then can't say what. It's not just GT/Forza, anything. "So why is the iPhone better?" "Well, it just has that special something that the Samsung doesn't. I can't say what it is though".

Like I say, frustrating.

I agree, if I were you then I'd want to just blow me up for this, and I apologize. I realize this must be annoying. But if I had to put it in words, it's as if each series has a certain personality. And until GT5, I've always liked that personality that GT games have had. I'm sorry, but that's the most literal way I think I can put it.

You mean you didn't know that??? Blasphemy!

Just like Jeremy Clarkson. Don't know why but he came to mind. (PS: Don't hate, I'm a fan of him and Top Gear.)

Again, that's fine and dandy, but you can't use this to try and "justify" GT5's downsides.

I'm not justifying anything, I'm simply saying that this is something of the game. It doesn't justify the downsides of the game or make the game any better.

I know what you mean about Clarkson, I enjoy him as a TV personality but he's not someone to take seriously on car reviews. I mean there isn't anything wrong with thinking something has a special something that you can't explain but it's not something you should be using in a debate/discussion about why something is better than something else. Stick to facts and opinions that you can actually back up for that.

Unless they tweak the physics for the better, no.

Did you enjoy GT's various physics updates and differences between offline and on.
Which tweak was the best?

Forza hasn't got the luxury of being able to tweak the physics every month or so.
They stuck there colours to the mast and kept their Pirelli tyre model in from day one. I call that confidence in their choices.

I honestly couldn't pinpoint the update number, I've lost count.

Forza has just never appealed to me physics wise. Just my opinion, I don't care what anyone else thinks really. My brother and I share the same opinion, he's not quite as quick as me but he's close. He sold his copy of GT5 and his PS3, bought a 360 and FM4 and not 2 weeks later switched back to GT. His reason: didn't like the physics.

Don't get me wrong, GT isn't the mother of all console racing games, it has physics issues too. In particular with race cars as they offer too much grip even with Racing tires. The physics in GT are good for people that are new to console sims, but for an all out simulation it's still not great. That's why I rarely compete in online leagues that use the Super GT cars, or any other race car for that matter. They just don't feel "right" to me.

Fun is to be had with a mildly tuned street car on sport hard tires though. 👍

Fair enough Turb's. As long as you enjoy yourself.
