Honestly I wouldn't be so sure about getting that brand in Gt simply because Turn 10 managed to get it.

The main point is the difference of mentality between the two producers. In fact what I like about Forza is the car list, much closer to european and maybe perhaps american standards.

If guys at Poliphony were interested in adding some Porsche's content they could have at least remodeled Ruf's cars into premium vehicles, if not adding the latest Ruf's, just like Turn did.

This particular subject have already being discussed in past week in few topics.

Notice it is not that simple, because it was nowhere confirmed how Porsche deal with EA have been ceased, all we "know" is how original license deal was expired on 31st Dec 2011 but we have no info has it been prolonged are what is the current state of affairs.

Also notice how Microsoft and EA have special relation regarding "sharing" their licenses, it has been going like that for more than a decade now (from the very start of Project Gotham series) and how both companies are than deciding about usability of those licenses in their products.

Only way to see Porsche in GT series would be that Sony and EA negotiate sub-licensing terms (and that Porsche agree of course) and that Microsoft can't do anything about it. Other way would be that Porsche quit their "exclusive licensing" policy and move towards ordinary licensing, as Ferrari for example did few years ago.

Both with another term of course: actual *cost* of such licensing.

If any of above happens, than we will get Porsche in GT series. If not, than not.

@XPLOSV: You are so right. And I don't think that it be get that much better (for GT 5 or 6) in near future. Forza has got so many great cars and they release DLCs with now up to 30 (!!!) new cars. Thats really hard to beat...

I dont know forza has the cars but I jump from one to the other.

One thing I will say is, Forza beats the hell out of GT5 as far as car lists go. They have a VERY impressive list!

Indeed.

Why another Thread? Anyway :D

EA has the Porsche license and this license will not Run Out soon.
Turn10 has some Friends @ Porsche and Turn10, Porsche talked with EA about a license.
Turn10 are only allowed to use Porsche in this Expension Pack.

Yes it is possible that PD Get a sub-license, but i dont think it will happen.

EA and Porsche signed a new exklusiv Deal.

I will agree, I think GT5 has a good one, but they went for quantity over quality.. In FM4 there is honestly not that many cars I wouldn't get, And I'm guaranteeing you won't find 40 Of the same car.:dunce:

Sony has to put some other valuables to the table to get Porsches from EA. Of course they just won't give them for free. Of course Porsche might realise someday what they are missing with advertisement opportunity from Gran Truismo series. (PD show them the numbers :) )

Assuming the XBox 720 and the PS4 are very, very similar, I will most likely be purchasing the XBox and Forza 5 instead of the PS4 and GT6.

Going to wait and see what PD does with GT6 but have a feeling if i get a new system it might be the xbox.

I assume you put know in quotes because it's not solid information. Unless I've missed it nobody has publicly said when the contract expired.

I dont think PD is gonna worry about it till GT6, and i doubt we'll get it then. Autoblog said it took Turn 10 awhile to justify brand value, so I assume they paid a large chunk of change for it.

Not having it isn't a deal breaker for me. I'll still buy 6.

Dang... Closer and closer to getting a box and F4 the more I hear about their car selections and DLC. Only wall I keep getting stuck behind is the lack of support for logitech wheels on the xbox.

What I love about Forza is the car list. Even with half of what GT offers, the list feels twice as large.

But Gran Turismo has had a great car list before. GT2 was by far the best car list in the GT series and I hope a list like that one makes it to GT6 where all manufacturers are given a fair amount of models.

Although I love Porsche, I would settle for an updated Ruf car list. Ruf has the same historic value than Porsche, with a more "specialized" feel to them. There arent too many Ruf variants so I don't see the problem on adding at least 10 Rufs. They've done it before again, in GT2.

As will I, despite Porsche being one of my favourite brands... I mean come on, who wouldn't want to blast around the Ring in a GT3 RS? Or around Le Mans in a 917? Let's be honest, the chances of Porsche appearing in GT5 are very very slim(I'd love to be wrong). In GT6 however, i'd say unlikely, but much more possible than GT5.

What ? I'm confused. Most people you will tell about RUF they wont know what it is, if it's a car, a vacum cleaner or a Razor, however if you say Porsche to anyone they'll all know what you're talking about. Also RUF has not even a tenth of Porsche victory in racing.

All that to say that RUF will never ever get near Porsche historical value.

You might want to do some research before attempting to sound clever. Following the bandwagon is not always the best choice :sly:

Talk to most people about Porsche, and they'd probably think the Cayenne is the most Sporty Porsche yet.

So much for historical glory right?

^ Exactly! The number of people who know about Porsche's true historic cars and overal racing records are probably fewer than people who know about Ruf.

At least in my country, if you mention Porsche, people will always mention that VW SUV with Porsche badges. Not that the car is bad, but that's definitely not a true Porsche. Also, the only Porsches you'll see on the streets of my country are Cayennes. So sad considering they can buy a Cayman S or a basic 911 with what they spend on that Cayenne Turbo.

RUF has some nice cars, but I'm pretty sure the 917 and other classic Porsche race cars didn't carry the RUF nameplate.

I'm not following anything. RUF is a tuner as far as I know, if you know more and can point me out to anything I'm glad to learn. They made some car like the CTR etc.. but most car are just porsche tuned. A bit like Amuse.

RUf made a gay SUV also btw did you know that ? And no in my country most people drive 911 actually, most women I know that talks about Porsche wants a 911 and not a gay Cayenne or Panamera.

Can you point me out what historical fact RUF made ? Except breaking the speed record. I'm really curious.

Ruf does tune Porsche models, but they are also a recognised manufacture of cars, if that was not the case then we would not be seeing them in GT5 (or FM4 for that matter).

As such they are not like Amuse at all.

Unless you can 100% prove that an SUV wishes to indulge in sexual relationships with another car of the same gender you can have a 'gay' car.

You that term as a pejorative again and it will be the last thing you do here as a member (just to be 100% clear - you will be banned - we have no place for homophobia).

The Yellowbird alone is more than enough, but they have always been at the cutting edge of production car development in this regard.

However the one point I would agree with you on is that anyone claiming that Ruf is more recognisable as a sporting brand that Porsche is not being realistic. The 911 bodyshape is one of the most iconic shapes in motoring and very, very widely recognised. Also Porsche hammer Ruf in terms of motorsport pedigree simply but the fact that the latter, as a manufacturer, has none. Porsche however have one of the longest running and successful mototsport pedigrees of almost any non Italian manufacturer.

wait till VW beats some sense into Porsche. Can't help but feel Bugatti was always followed by the totally irrelevant Golfs and Sciroccos in recent console games.

VW will put it right once, just wait and see.

I don't know why people continue to think parent companies have complete total control over their subsidiaries....
