I just finished it in the ugliest way possible. I used my 917/20 with an S2/990 tune by Don Joewon Song. He usually tunes for grip and that’s what I like. Not this one. I honestly think he tuned it for drag racing. Ferocious acceleration but zero grip. First race our entire team got skunked 2450-0. Second race two guys dropped out but we managed to win it something like 1100-650. Third race everyone else dropped out leaving me. I finished third. I still won the round 400-250 and the championship 2-1. So I got the Langheck but it’s not going to be commemorated as one of my finer moments.

I got lucky and ended up with 4 guys that knew what they were doing, and we blitzed all 3 races with all of us finishing top 5 using 918s. Not a fun championship even if we won easily.

Major boo to the 6th guy on our team in a bone stock GT3RS that just pootled around in last place for the whole championship without even trying. He got 0 points on the board and will still get his 917... that's a bit unfair.

I can understand the annoyance, but it’s also possible it’s just some kid with low level skills. If I helped them get the cool new exclusive car, I’d be happy.

I finished almost by luck. I entered from the playlist so didn't know the requirements, which meant I entered in my highest-rated eligible car: a stock 918. Half my team was in 998 cars, so the AI was too, and yet I was finishing on the podium each race. They'd divebomb me in the corners, seemingly unaware that we're on the same team.

Luckily the 918 has great off-the-line pace, so I sort of did the same, just to the AI. Was able to win by a whole 50 points on the final race.

Having your own teammates try to take you out is one of the biggest annoyances in the trial races. Whenever it happens I usually hit them up with the "Nice driving" quick chat message, followed by the "Clap Clap" one.

Are you sure they even get the sarcasm? I prefer to press the “wololo” horn when team members drive like saboteurs. Not sure it gets the message across but at least it underpins the ridiculousness.

I like trials a lot. They're my favorite because you really need to work as a team. It's so different from Team Adventure. When you try to block the AI and you manage to let your teammates pass in front it gave you some sort of accomplishment you can't find in other races.
This time around is even better since I can use one of my favorite cars, the AWD GT3rs. Already had some very nice races so far.

Most likely they should understand, as that message is used almost every instance during conflict in online races. I also don't think anyone would use it to actually compliment someone's racing skills haha

I already won the glorious 917 LH, but only after my team completely butchered the first Trial. In there, we had some numskull in a 918 purposely ramming us, his own teammates. I would say that I carried the team, because I got first in every race except the first one where said 918 driver messed us all up at the beginning, but we lost anyway. What can I say, it's definitely earned the name "The Trial".

The "Nice driving" message has basically become a Forza meme at this point, due to people using it online sarcastically for bad drivers.

Unbelievable that I just got the '04 Civic from the Auction House and it's a Championship reward in the Spring...

2.6 mil for nothing...

And question: Can the LEGO Porsche be used in the Trial?

Ugh. I couldn't win the trial last night after 4 tries. I'll try again tonight, but I got stuck with horrendous teammates. I had one shunt me off before a checkpoint and in the one I actually had a chance at winning the 2nd and 3rd place drivers decided to start drifting and hitting walls....

It's hilarious how the 917LH is classified as common, not even rare or epic car. It sure deserve a legendary status.
Just like the Ferrari FXX.

On my first attempt I was ghost-rammed off of the road right before the first checkpoint in the first race... That attempt did not last very long.

Third time's the charm, got a good team and managed to win the 917. Now, I am not touching the Trials ever again...

Wish they’d do their research at PG, the 917LH is listed as a 4.9 litre but this very car finished 2nd at Le Mans because it had the more reliable 4.5 litre engine (as did the winning car). That and it sounds like a flat six from a GT3.

Fed up with lazy game design.

I hate to be "that guy" who asks how a game is after a long absence buuuttt... Some time ago around FH4's release I tried it and was left with a sour taste in my mouth, subsequently uninstalling the game. From what I remember, I felt frustrated with the car sounds and how "samey" the game felt compared to the previous entries. Now however, from what I can see, it seems the game has improved somewhat.

Can anyone tell me the major improvements (in your eyes) the game has received post-launch? Disk drive space is precious so I'd prefer to make an informed decision beforehand. :)

If it's for the FE Caterham, I already got one.
Maybe it's not worth it for the car itself but there’s a real challenge. For your skills and nerves. Just try a custom race on the Festival Circuit with Caterhams only and unbeatable driveatars.. enjoy.

Thanks for mentioning that, as I've bid on a couple 04 Civics but think the 2.5-3 mil price silly, even in game money. One I and another person were bidding back and forth on, at around 100K. In the last minute someone bought it out for over 2.5 million. I'm hoping the Prelude comes up at some point, too.

I haven't tried the Trial yet. I did the Modern Rally series, Noble hoops, and PR stunts, but that's it so far.

Can someone correct me if I'm wrong here? I could've sworn I saw an AI Buick GNX with Firestone branded tires, kinda like Nascar.
I'm sure everyone already has the car, but I don't see these specific tires as an upgrade or anywhere.

Is this some special AI car that cannot be obtained/unlocked?

It's the Monte Carlo SS you get from the LaRacer stories, the vintage tires are Goodyear NASCAR slicks.

Inevitable I suppose, the 917LH is on the Co-op race. After a few tried of that in past Seasons, it looks like I will have to wait for one!

Used the Infiniti Eau Rouge for the Super Saloon races successfully. Full downforce helped. Turns out the Stinger would have had better performance.

I attempted the trial last night and this morning. The first time was looking okay. Lost the first, won the second, and we were doing well in the third. Then someone decided it would be more fun to bash other players. I got knocked away from a checkpoint, and rather than risk causing the group to lose I quit the trial. This morning's attempt was just a bash-fest. If I try again it won't be until tonight, as I'm on-call for disaster response for the next several hours.

On the upside, a couple of the player-created tracks in the rally series are groovetastic.
