The winter footage on that leaked gameplay looked incredible.

I remember being quite astounded by how well Drive Club looked a while back, but I think FH4 will have passed it to become possibly the best looking racing game around.

That's what I'm taking away from it as well. Like when playing FH2 and seeing how well the rain and clouds made it seem like a dreary summer's rain, FH4 is doing a good job in making it look like a grey winter's day with all that snow.

I also like how the backroads are covered in snow, yet the motorways are nicely plowed.

Good point about the winter roads. I was worried that during the winter weeks, it was be a week of off roading only, but the leaked footage shows that some of the roads are actually quite clean and normal thankfully.

From the wikipedia article:
Engine: DKW 49 cc, 4.2 hp, fan-cooled
The P50 used a 49 cc (3.0 cu in) DKW engine, which gave it a top speed of approximately 37 mph (60 km/h), and was equipped with a three-speed manual transmission that had no reverse gear. Consequently, turning in a confined area could be achieved only by pushing, or lifting the car using the handle on the rear and physically pulling it round. The makers and users claim fuel consumption of 100 mpg‑imp (2.8 L/100 km; 83 mpg‑US)

Nice to see Keira returning from Horizon 3! Is that the first time a Horizon manager returns in a later game?

I can't confirm it, but I swear the guy that "fixed up" your cars in the original Horizon was the Timeless DJ in FH3.

The old man? I never really paid attention since I haven't used the radio stations in game.

Warren (Daniel Lapaine) was the mechanic in Forza Horizon 3.
Dan Thompson was the radio host for Timeless FM in Forza Horizon 3 and returns in Forza Horizon 4 along with Timeless FM.

Fun fact: Daniel Lapaine also voiced the engineer in DiRT 3.

As for Dak, the original Horizon mechanic, I can’t seem to find who provides the voice...

Thanks, but I was referring to Dak, the original Horizon mechanic and the voiceover actor who portrayed both him and (possibly) Dan Thompson.

Guy Paul probably voiced Dak in Forza Horizon 1.
Richard Grieve probably voiced Dan Thompson in Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Horizon 4, as he did act in the Australian TV series "Home and Away".

Money has been tight as hell for the last few months. I'm just hoping I've got the $100 extra on this next check to pre-order this game.

Cheers Max for doing this, always interesting seeing this data in a nicely presented format.

I’m not really surprised. HE’s are basically just preset tuned cars with special bonuses. None of the HE’s in FH3 actually had anything unique about them aside from a special paint colour and gameplay bonuses (although I believe a few had unique engine swaps).

Yes, I'm sure. The gold on black license plate is unique to any HE car.

Thanks!

Havent played FH3 so didn’t know about the license plate.

Was hoping for a more FM styled HE cars

I'm in a similar situation. My other half has broken two fingers about two weeks ago and how much work shes going to have to miss is unknown at this point. Knowing that disability might take a while leaves us in a tricky spot, but this should be doable, and I get paid the day of release.

That's a hell of an undertaking @ManteoMax!

I read the reasoning on the original post, but I'm confused by something like the Hellcat/Redeye and Demon being separate, but the various Jag XE or F-Types being bundled, or the De Tomasos, or even the old Vantage. The SV Project 8, for example, is far removed from S, certainly more so than a Redeye to a Demon.

What's interesting to me is the bulk of the list is simply different trims to cars already in the game/series. Performante, 675LT, Pista — people want the latest thing, and to their credit, I'd say Turn 10/PG largely deliver. I just always hope that means the older models remain. The new M2 Competition is a great example: sure, it'll be more powerful, but it's also significantly fatter, so I'd love to try both back-to-back to compare (though admittedly, that's more of an interest in the Motorsport titles than Horizon).
