Forza Horizon 5 Car List "Predictions"

Good day fellow Forza fans,

As we get closer to launch and as Playground Games reveals more of the cars in the game, I wanted to create a thread that "predicts" what cars we will see as well as certain aspects about the car list. Think of it as a wishlist thread, but with a twist. I want to spark discussion based around what you will think the car list will be like.

You can really put any format to this you want, but I'm basically asking these questions: What cars do you think we will see? What cars from previous titles do you think will be missing from Horizon 5? How many cars do you think there will be? Anything that predicts anything about the car list is fair game here. I don't 100% expect these things to happen, but I think these would be fun predictions to discuss while we wait for more information.

Here are my predictions:

1. Several cars from the leaked FH4 list that weren't in FH4 will be in FH5. Several of the cars from this list have made it into the game now, and a few more have already been seen in footage for Horizon 5. I think we will see several cars from this list in Horizon 5; this is a pretty safe bet based on what we've seen.

2. Pickup trucks will have more of a presence. I believe that we will see more pickup trucks in this game as well, based on the Mexico location as well as the more and more frequent requests I've seen for them. Models like the Ram SRT-10, C1500 454 SS, Toyota Tundra/Tacoma TRD Pro, Toyota Tacoma XRunner, and Mazda REPU are just a few of the many examples Horizon is lacking that would be perfect for the series.

3. Toyota and Lexus will return in full force. We all are obviously aware of Toyota's return, but seeing the rest of Toyota's catalogue from previous Forza games return to Forza Horizon 5 would keep the manufacturer's list up to date. I think we will eventually see returning cars such as the FJ40, FJ Cruiser, and Celica Supra in this installment. I also think new additions such as the A90 Supra, GR Yaris, Sera, and even Mega Cruiser would be perfect fits for the series. Several of Toyota's cars are quite iconic, so I'm sure we will see several more Toyotas in this game, as well as Lexus.

4. Some of the British cars added in FH4 will be cut, at least at launch. I expect to see a few remain like the Rover SD1, Triumph TR6, and Austin-Healey 3000, but I'm not so sure some of the others will make it into the game at launch (similar to several of the Australian cars from FH3 to FH4).

5. The Hot Wheels and Barrett-Jackson models will be removed (at launch). I don't expect these cars to make it in at launch. I think the Monaco King Cobra as well as maybe a stock Hemi Cuda Convertible are possible, but other cars like the Atomic Punk Bubble Top I don't see being added in at launch.

6. The James Bond Pack cars will return in stock form, as well as the Hoonigan cars. Pretty self-explanatory here. I don't see Hoonigan going anywhere any time soon, and the James Bond Pack had such good cars that it would be a shame to see them be excluded.

7. Some of the oddly-excluded cars from previous games will return. There were several cars that were in FM7 in particular that seemed to be odd exclusions from FH4. New cars like the Nissan Safari, Subaru 360, Honda Odyssey, Lincoln Continental Black Label, and Volvo XC90 seemed like odd exclusions considering they arguably make more sense in an open world environment. There are also several cars that have been Motorsport exclusives or otherwise that were missing from H4 that I'd like to see return like the AMC Pacer, Alpine GTA LeMans, Plymouth Prowler, Chevy Vega GT, Dodge Dart GT, '86 Civic Si, Hyundai Genesis, half of Volvo's lineup, '02 Camaro, Mercedes ML 63 AMG, Pontiac Aztek, Caparo T1, Infiniti IPL G, etc.

8. Speaking of which, car manufacturers that desperately need to be updated in Forza will eventually be updated. As has been pointed out, several of the manufacturers included in Forza are lacking several cars that I (and many others) feel they should have, and I believe they will eventually have some updates. Some of H4's manufacturers got this treatment in H4 such as Renault, Mercedes (to an extent), Mini, and Aston Martin, but others still desperately need it. Examples of these include Audi, Volvo, Mercedes, Mazda, Toyota, Lotus, and Honda. You could argue that just about any car manufacturer is missing some key cars, but some definitely get more love than others.

9. The game will begin to include more electric cars. Another safe bet here I think. In terms of what cars, I think we will see some more electric supercars (like the NIO EP9, Lotus Evija, and already-confirmed Porsche Taycan), more electric SUVs (like the Mercedes-Benz EQC 400), and even electric offroaders like the Extreme E Offroad Odyssey.

10. A couple manufacturers will still be excluded due to licensing issues. Just like Toyota and Mitsubishi at the beginning of FH4's life, and Rolls-Royce and Tesla still missing, I expect PG will run into some issues still with a couple of manufacturers. I hope, however, that they are able to gather as many cars as possible for this game's launch.

Enjoy!

I hope to see the Aston Martin Valkyrie and Suzuki Jimny at launch. Oh, and more Baja, rally raid, rallycross, Group B and historic WRC cars.

My worry is, we will see less of the quirky cars a UK based game could offer, in favour of more supercars and off-road nonsense, which all drive about the same and make the same sort of noises.

I hope I'm wrong.

My prediction.

  1. In the FH5 launch car list, most of the new cars added to the game will be American cars. The map of FH5 is Mexico. However, there are few car manufacturers in Mexico, and virtually the only brand that can join the game is Vuhl. Therefore, they will add many American cars that are popular in Mexico. What kind of cars those are I do not know, but ...
  2. Many pickups, even pre-2010 models, will be added. One of the things that made FH4's car list different from previous Forza games was that it listened to the community's requests more than ever before. The only thing that has been neglected is the players' demand for the old pickup trucks. They kept appealing for the addition of these tracks on the official forums, discord, reddit, and many other places. If there was ever an opportunity to reflect their opinions in the game, it is now.
  3. Hoonigan's car list will be greatly reduced. Ken Block and Hoonigan have ended their partnership with Ford. And this will affect the FH5 car list as well. Probably all Ford models will be removed from Hoonigan's car list. Its missing a lot but we might get some crazy WRX instead.
  4. Many of the British cars added in FH4 will be removed. This is not surprising. Perhaps some of the models will return in Festival Playlist.
  5. Hot Wheels, Barrett-Jackson, and Lego models will be removed. Same as above. However, some models of HW and Barrett-Jackson may be added later.
  6. Quadra V-Tech and Regalia will not be there at launch. These are not surprising either. And we all know that "these cars will be added to the game later anyway".
  7. More convertible hypercar variants will be added. These cars were controversial in FH4. However, they will be added more aggressively in FH5. It's a great way to show off the new feature of opening and closing convertibles, and to divert data from existing hypercars.
  8. Several new Toyotas and Lexus, including the A90 Supra, will appear in the game from launch. FH5 will be the first Forza to be released after (probably) resolving Toyota's "strange" licensing issues. So we may get some new Toyotas and Lexus to show off our restored relationship with them. Street Hunter, an aftermarket brand, testifies that they have already been asked to provide data for a widebody kit for the A90 Supra. As such, the A90 Supra will certainly be added to the game. My guess is that other Toyota/Lexus models will be added, such as the JZX100 Chaser, which the community has been asking for for years.
  9. Many Racing Buggies related to off-road racing, such as the Baja 1000, will be added. The Baja 1000 is probably what most people think of when they think of Mexican motorsports. And I am guessing that probably many racing buggies related to this race will be added to the game.
  10. Front engine Porsches (924, 928, 944, 968) are not all available at launch. The space for them is used for the 991 and later 911s. As a front engine Porsche enthusiast, this is a very hard and annoying guess. But I'm sure it will happen. I've already given up. 😭

My predictions will be:

  1. At launch, the game could feature up to more than 700 cars. A sizeable increase from Horizon 4's "over 450 cars" at launch, and also supported by the fact that Horizon 4 has around that many cars. I hope this figure does not include the Forza edition cars, Welcome Pack cars and so on.
  2. Turn Ten and Playground could add some of the most-requested cars from the start, but not all at once, as more will be added later on. Cars like the Bugatti Centodieci, Lamborghini Aventador LP 770-4 SVJ, Lamborghini Sian FKP 37, Ferrari SF90 Stradale, Hennessey Venom F5, Aston Martin DBX, Aston Martin Valkyrie, Suzuki Jimny, Mastretta MXT, Nissan Sentra SE-R (B13) (please, oh, please don't call it a Nissan Tsuru, for crying out loud), Toyota GR Supra, Toyota GR Yaris and Honda Beat are among some of the most-requested cars in the community, and I'll be surprised if Turn Ten and Playground add them at launch. There will be hundreds of other highly-requested cars that could come via DLC or Festival Playlist.
  3. There will be a much larger amount of rally cars and other such off-road racing machines. Given the Mexican setting, and the popularity of the Baja 1000 and other such offroad and rally events, more trophy trucks, buggies, rally raid/Dakar vehicles, as well as rallycross, Group B, 1970s WRC and more are expected, and will surely put the diverse landscapes to good use with these off-road machines.
  4. There will be more LEGO Speed Champions cars. Cars like the Ford Bronco R, Ford GT, Koenigsegg Jesko, McLaren Elva and Toyota GR Supra have LEGO Speed Champions counterparts. It's unlikely to be there at launch but still possible eventually in the game's lifespan. FH5 currently has the Ford Bronco R, Ford GT, Koenigsegg Jesko and Toyota GR Supra, but sadly, not the McLaren Elva just yet.
  5. Toyota and Lexus will definitely have more cars available, a mix of new and returning models. Considering both the A80 and the GR Supra are already going to be there at launch, this would definitely make a lot of sense.
  6. All Hot Wheels custom and concept cars will be included right at the start. A lot of the one-off custom creations (HW Legends) and original concept cars from Hot Wheels have become a mainstay of the Forza series since Motorsport 6, so I believe they should make them available at launch. Having them later on is already becoming confusing.
  7. The Rimac Concept_Two will be replaced with the much newer Rimac Nevera. Both the Concept_Two and Nevera are essentially the same car, except the Nevera is the finalized production variant.
  8. Barrett-Jackson Edition cars will feature at a later time in the game's lifespan. Preferrably through Festival Playlists, hopefully.
  9. There will be a larger amount of spiders, roadsters and convertibles. Surprising considering players can now raise or lower the roofs.
  10. More electric vehicles will be featured. The Porsche Taycan Turbo S is confirmed, and we have a decent amount of EV's in Horizon 4 such as the Rimac, RAESR Tachyon Speed, Jaguar I-PACE, and more. EV's that the community wants include the Pininfarina Battista, almost any Tesla in general, Aspark Owl and NIO EP9.
  11. Porsche and RUF will feature together in the series once again for the first time since Forza Horizon 2. The RUF CTR2 is in the leaked car list originally for Forza Horizon 4. Considering the sheer amount of Porsches we already have, it would make sense for the two brands to feature together once again and can make for some great Porsche vs. RUF battles (considering they add back all the other RUFs and add new ones). Whether it will be at launch or later on in the game's lifespan, I would assume the latter.
  12. As for promotional cars, the Warthog and the Final Fantasy cars will be there at launch, but others such as the Quadra Turbo R V-Tech and potentially future fictional cars from other games won't be there until later on. Not surprising given the Warthog and Regalia models have since become so synonymous with Horizon. I expect the Quadra to return via Festival Playlists.
  13. They will hold back on some of the British cars from Horizon 4 and add them later on through Festival Playlists. Horizon 4 essentially did this, especially with some Holden HSV's. I believe they are going to do the same with some of the British staple cars from Horizon 4.
  14. All cars from the James Bond Car Pack from Horizon 4 will return in regular versions. Cars like the 1974 AMC Hornet X Hatchback, 1969 Aston Martin DBS, 1987 Aston Martin V8 Volante, 2015 Aston Martin DB10, 1981 Citroen 2CV6, 2010 Jaguar C-X75 (inline-4 twincharged hybrid) and 1977 Lotus Esprit S1 will all be regular cars without the fancy James Bond modifications. This also includes the 2008 Aston Martin DBS and BMW Z8.
  15. Models that were originally held back for the game will feature later in Festival Playlists. Cars like the Mercedes-AMG GT S, Mercedes Benz 300 SLR, 280 SL, SL 65 AMG Black Series, Ford Lotus Cortina, GT40 Mark II Le Mans, XB Falcon GT, Mustang Mach 1, Super Deluxe Station Wagon, Escort RS1800 Mk. II Rally Car and any others from Horizon 4 that didn't make the jump to Horizon 5 can have a possibility of showing up as Festival Playlist rewards. After all, nobody wants to pay for them again.

1. Good selection of Mexican cars. File this one under "No duh," but it bears repeating. And I'm not just talking about the obvious ones like the Vuhl, the VAM Lerma and third-gen Dodge Ramcharger (Fingers crossed for a lifted, 4WD- and Hellcat-swapped Forza Edition of the last one.), but more obscure ones like the Rural Ramirez and Solana Deportivo.
2. Wide selection of Carrera Panamericana cars. An open world, open road game set in Mexico you say? OF COURSE there will be cars from the (in)famous road race of the early 1950s. In addition to cars already in the Forza vehicle library that competed in the race (or at least could have) like the Hudson Hornet and 550 Spyder, we'll see new additions that found success and/or notoriety like the Ferrari 340 Mexico (duh), the Lancia D24, the 1952 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL prototype, the 1950 Oldsmobile 88 and 1953 Lincoln Capri.
3. Expanded Japanese vehicle roster. In an attempt to placate the mental-age-of-eight, "MEXIC0 SUX FH5 SHUD BE IN JAPAN REEEEEEEEE" crowd, there will be a broad selection of Japanese vehicles, perhaps the broadest ever in any Forza title. Lots of returning names, plus new ones like the latest Suzuki Jimny, a '90s Toyota X-chassis sedan (Mark II, Chaser, etc.), Isuzu VehiCROSS, Mitsubishi Delica 4WD, and at least one Nissan Pike Factory model.
4. Group S rally cars. There's a fantastic selection of rally cars and roadgoing rally homologation models already in the Forza universe, but for a glaring omission of one era: Group S. Granted, these cars never actually competed as the FIA preemptively banned them along with Group B, but many of the prototypes that were to contest the category still exist: Toyota 222D, Audi Sport Quattro RS 002, Lancia ECV, Peugeot 405 T16, and Opel Kadett/Vauxhall Astra 4x4. (And because the latter three are now all property of Stellantis, licensing that trio at least shouldn't be terribly difficult.)
5. Golden age of Trans Am race cars. FH3 introduced race cars to Horizon with GTs and V8 supercars, while FH4 concentrated on pre-war grand prix cars and '60s and early '70s sports prototypes. I say FH5 will add a totally new genre of competition car to the Forza universe in the form of classic Trans Am cars, particularly from 1970, the peak year of factory involvement. Fully race-prepped renditions of the Mustang Boss 302, Camaro Z/28, Challenger T/A, AAR 'Cuda and Javelin wearing their authentic (or as authentic as licensing and the E rating will allow) liveries would be an awesome addition not just to FH5, but to FM(8) when it arrives.
6. Returning vehicle ranks will be thinned and/or replaced with newer models. Cars with multiple variants of the same generation (e.g. C7 Corvette, sixth-gen Camaro, Nissan R35, Jeep WK2, Bentley Continental, etc.) will see the older and less potent variants cut, at least at launch. Ditto models that have newer and more potent versions available, like the Jaguar F-Pace, Porsche Cayenne, McLaren 570, BMW M2, and ND Miata.
7. Aussie and British vehicle ranks will also be thinned. Fewer Aussie muscle cars (particularly the HSVs) and British non-supercars and SUVs will be in the game at launch. Unfortunate, but to be expected with new, more-relevant-to-FH5 content coming.

Here's my take on predicting upcoming vehicles in FH5 as a shared spreadsheet, so you can bookmark it in your browser.

The list posted below is a work-in-progress, so expect it to grow bigger with the passing days.

An entry coloured in green means it's ingame inclusion is already confirmed.

Have fun!

With regards to racing cars, it would technically be possible for us to see some IMSA-GT/Trans-Am/Group 5 Gen 3 & 4 cars to appear in Horizon 5 (other than Rally), supporting L8 Apex's post, where he found that Horizon 3 had the Motorsport All-Stars Pack, with GTE, GT3 and V8 Supercars, while Horizon 4 had a large roster of Group 5 Gen 2 (60s-70s LM) and Historic GP (20s-50s GP/open-wheelers). There are also some race cars in the Horizon 4 leak, specifically those from the vintage Indianapolis 500 era (50s-60s), and some IMSA GTO cars.
  • 1954 Kurtis-Kraft KK500C
  • 1966 Lola T90 (Possibly the 1966 Indianapolis 500 winner, the #15 American Red Ball T90 driven by Graham Hill)
  • 1998 #14 Roush Performance Ford Mustang SCCA
And don't forget the 3rd Forza Let's Go episode, where they discussed how they recorded car sounds. There are unique additions that were being recorded, meaning that these cars can come to Horizon 5:
  • 1998 Chevrolet C/K 2500 4X4 [GMT400]
  • Reid TruckSport Iveco Stralis XP Racing Truck (Sound for the Mercedes Actros Racing Truck?)
  • Darkside Developments BMW 320D

On the other side, there have been several posts by various dealerships/garages/tuners that could surface as FH5 nears release. Here is one possibly confirmed car coming to Horizon 5/Motorsport:

(8/31 Update: Apparently, there have been news of the 2020 Nissan GT-R Nismo being scanned (https://i.redd.it/mlbl4rf5njk71.jpg). I haven't found the actual post yet on the poster's IG (nexusautobrokers) )

Time to resurrect this thread.

With PG revealing the launch list's for Ford and Mercedes (and some notable cuts happening), I thought I'd try my hand at actually trying to predict the launch car list.

We don't know a number to work towards other than "the largest number of cars Horizon has ever had at launch"

FH4 launched with 460. So we must have more than that number at the very least.

Some have suggested 500+, some have suggested 550+. Maybe 600+ is a possibility. Those numbers seem reasonable, maybe 600+ being a bit of a stretch.

The issue is though that if you take FH4's list of 752, remove all of the game promo, FE's, Welcome Pack, Pre-Order, James Bond, Hot Wheels, Barrett Jackson cars. You still have 663 cars. Then adding in the already confirmed 14 New-To-Forza cars, that leaves you with 677 cars.

So cutting to 500+ (probably like 510-520ish range, they usually get a bit over the advertised number) is a very tough job without completely axing a manufacturer entirely. Similar for 550+.

So I tried to make a list that hit the 600+ mark.

It accounts for some returning vehicles from past Forzas which I speculated at (only 5 of them which I think is a big underestimate IMO)

It accounts for another 15 New-To-Forza cars (which I picked, again just speculation. Could be completely wrong on these. I just used mostly leaked list vehicles). This could be just about right or I could be way under. Who knows.

From the stuff I tried to cut, I tried to keep it to these patterns/rules
  • Quirky British stuff mostly gone (some kept like the Aussie stuff we've kept from FH3) but most likely coming back in themed Playlist updates
  • 1 Off DLC cars from FH4 mostly gone
  • Duplicate cars with similar models or higher trim models mostly axed
  • The few concepts they added in FH4; gone
  • I tried to keep cars they added body kits to in FH4. So Macan Turbo, 09 Mini JCW, 15 Cayman GTS. These would make sense to cut unless PG hadn't gone back to these models and added kits. So I think more than likely they stay
  • I cut quite a bit of stuff added through the Playlist in FH4. Probably will get re-added. Much like the 914/6 in FH3 and FH4.
  • It also doesn't axe any big manufacturer. Until we know it to be confirmed, I kept all of the big ones in there.

So here it is:

So after doing this I've come to a few conclusions

  • You could get to a list of 560-570 (which would fall under the hypothetical 550+ advertised number) but you'd have to be making big cuts to manufacturers that we wouldn't normally see. BMW, Nissan, Ferrari, Porsche, Chevrolet etc. Also whilst cutting a few 1 Make Manufacturers like Italdesign, ATS, Exocet, Hudson, Donkervoort etc.
  • You'd probably also cut the rest of the FD vehicles (I kept those 3 because I thought since they were added post FH4's launch, they were licensed for longer) and more of the Hoonigan cars. I just kept those ones since I'm unsure what licensing complications come in with the older FH3 vehicles.
  • Getting to 510-520 is very hard to get to without completely axing a big manufacturer or a couple of medium sized brands. Of the big ones not yet confirmed to be in FH5 (Audi, Nissan, Renault, Lotus, Aston Martin, Alfa Romeo), the one that makes the most sense is Audi. We've seen barely anything new from them in Forza period (sans FM7 and they were race vehicles added, not production models) and perhaps there is a licensing issue with Audi. Even after cutting Audi, you'd still need to be cutting all of the aforementioned cars from the 1-Make brands and staple cars most likely from the big and medium sized brands. There would be a lot of losses. Losses I don't want to really predict :nervous:
  • With PG being so secretive about the final advertising number of cars, this has me worried. Forza has never done this. They always boast how many cars they cram into their games. Usually announced when the game is revealed. Only other time they were iffy on numbers was FM5, and we all know why that was. So my feeling is the list is going to be disappointing and will be in the 510-520 range. Which means I feel like we'll be losing another brand (despite this being the first time we could have every single major brand in a Horizon at launch) and we will be having significant cuts.
  • The only ray of hope is in Ford/Mercedes lists. If we look at them and say 510-520 is the launch number, I would've expected way more cuts to Ford (another 5-7 vehicles at least) and we would've lost another Merc at least.
  • I really hope I'm wrong with these predictions
  • I hope we get lots of cars coming back for Free in the Festival Playlist, in addition to the 1 Car per week from the Car Pass.

Time to resurrect this thread...
To be very honest with you, as much as I hope we have more than this at launch, I think this is a safe bet for the most part. I do think they may add a couple back from FM7 that were missing from Horizon 4, but I'm not getting my hopes up all that much. The two lists we've seen for both Ford and Merc are pretty rough with the cuts, and I really hope things aren't going to be too bad as we go along here. I'm sure we all are pretty afraid of some of our favorites getting cut. But, at least we know they will be supporting the game through DLC and Festival Playlist.

I wanted to do some math here to try to predict the car count at launch to some degree. Take this with as much salt as you wish obviously since this may mean absolutely nothing:

Equation is as follows: [(# of cars returning from Manufacturer in H5) / (All cars from Manufacturer in H4)] * (752 total in H4) = (Predicted Car Count)

For Ford: (50/64)(752) = ~588 cars...For Ford WITH new cars: (54/64)(752) = ~635 cars

For Mercedes-Benz: (16/21)(752) = ~573 cars...For M-B WITH new cars: (16/21)(752) = ~573 cars

For Mercedes-AMG: (4/6)(752) = ~501 cars...For M-AMG WITH new cars: (5/6)(752) = ~627 cars

For both M-B and M-AMG: (20/27)(752) = ~557 cars...For both WITH new cars: (21/27)(752) = ~584 cars

Average of all 3 without new cars = ~578 cars...Avg with new cars = ~620 cars.

This includes PO cars and FE cars, which are counted as their own model in FH4.

So if we go by this, I'd imagine somewhere around the upper 500s and lower 600s is very feasible for this game.

Very interesting. I definitely agree with you R:E FM7 returning cars. I just found it tough to include many when so much was already being cut.

I think with your ratios, definitely the Merc ones I think point to a likely outcome. 573, 584 sound like reasonable numbers and if I go back and do some more cutting, that can be definitely be achieved whilst keeping all big brands in tact.

To be honest, I'd be fine with the 570-580 number knowing;

FH4 launched with 460 and ended up with 663 cars + Hot Wheels, James Bond, Barrett Jackson cars.

So if we say start with 573 in FH5, we could end up with 780ish at the end of it's life + DLC packs etc. That's assuming FH5 get's the same amount of support as FH4, which I think it's more likely it receives greater support. We could end up with 850+ vehicles (including FE/Welcome Pack dupes) which is awesome. Ok not every single vehicle from FM7, FH4 and FH3 will make it over but hopefully by the end of it's life cycle, the vast majority do + we'll have a lot of New-To-Forza cars from the car pass. (And 360 era ports most likely as well)

  • Getting to 510-520 is very hard to get to without completely axing a big manufacturer as a couple of medium sized brands.
Actually, the 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR was already spotted in Forza Horizon 5.

Remember the Leaked List back from Horizon 4 (as well as the leaks from Horizon 3 and Motorsport 7)? We've still got remaining cars that will most likely end up in Horizon 5 (vehicles in bold would make more sense to be added in Horizon 5, as they are mostly sold or based in America/Mexico):
  • 2009 Alfa Romeo Brera
  • 2003 Aston Martin DB7 Zagato
  • 2001 Aston Martin V12 Vanquish
  • 2012 Aston Martin Virage

The Forza 7 Leak (https://www.gtplanet.net/new-forza-7-leak-shows-host-potential-new-vehicles/) also has unreleased Forza Edition cars that could come as either an Autoshow car, or part of the VIP Pack (I'll also include some unmentioned Forza Edition cars from an early leak of Horizon 4's car list (Source).

  • Reid TruckSport Iveco Stralis XP Racing Truck
  • Darkside Developments BMW 320D
Rolls-Royce won't be coming to Forza Horizon 5, that's for sure.

My guess is that many of the brands that are not currently on the car list are likely to be brands that will be adding some kind of new car.

So I have made a prediction of the cars that will be added to the brands that are not currently on the list.
What cars do you think will be added?

  • Alfa Romeo: 2021 Giulia GTA
  • Bentley: 2020 Continantal GTC
  • BMW: 2021 2 Series Coupe, 2021 M4
  • Bugatti: 1938 57SC Atlantic
  • Kia: 2020 K5 GT
  • Mazda: 1992 323 GTR
Citroen, Chrysler, and Austin may be brands that don't exist at launch and don't have new cars, and existing cars will be added later in the playlist.

Chrysler may most likely come, with the usual 2012 300 SRT-8, and maybe the 2006 300C.

I bet that they'd be originally citing technically every returning car from FH4, until all the manufacturers are complete, then, they'll begin to primarily mention returning cars (from FM7 and below; often 360-era cars) and new-to-Forza cars via Twitter. I knew that they had something bigger after posting the manufacturers' cars on Twitter (917 LH wasn't mentioned in Twitter, but was revealed in the most recent Let's Go stream).

I'll also speculate some more "New to Forza" cars that could be added to the launch list or as DLC/Hard-to-find cars :

Aston Martin

  • 2022 Aston Martin V12 Speedster
  • Aston Martin Victor
  • 2020 Aston Martin Valkyrie
  • 2020 Aston Martin DBX

Alfa Romeo
- 2022 Alfa Romeo Tonale

Bentley
- 2021 Bentley Mulliner Bacalar

BMW

  • 2022 BMW iX3
  • 2022 BMW i4
  • 2022 BMW M5 CS

Bugatti
  • 2024 Bugatti Bolide
  • 2019 Bugatti Centodieci
  • 2019 Bugatti La Voiture Noire

KIA
- 2022 KIA Telluride

Noble
- 2020 Noble M500

Volvo & Polestar
- 2019 Polestar 1

An update on my predictions (changed to reflect the latest car list reveal):

1. At launch, the game will feature up to more than 650 to 700 cars, not including any Forza editions. The recent car list reveal showed 431 unique vehicles, and that there are still many more, especially from manufacturers not on the list to come all the way until launch. Despite the huge number of cars shown, this is quite a tease, just before the main event.

On the most recent LET'S GO!!! stream, when the folks took a photo of the Ford Bronco R in action, Mike Brown encouraged people not to believe the number of "543 cars" on the stream as it was a developers' build, suggesting the actual number of cars on the finalized car list could be potentially larger than that.

2. Some of the most-requested cars could make it at launch. The Toyota GR Supra is one of those cars that are coming on day one. Some other cars will have to wait, such as in the Car Pass or Festival Playlists. But I would still count on some highly-requested cars making it at launch, like the Bugatti Centodieci, 1991 Nissan Sentra SE-R, 2017 Nissan GT-R NISMO, BMW M8 Competition, among others. Cars like the Lamborghini Sian FKP 37, Ferrari SF90 Stradale, 2022 Nissan Z, Toyota GR Yaris, Suzuki Jimny and others are more likely to be DLC. This also includes a large number of cars that were part of the leaked list originally for Horizon 4.

3. Most Hot Wheels custom and concept cars will return at launch. The Bone Shaker and the Twin Mill were announced at the partial car list reveal, alongside a brand-new monster truck variant of the Bone Shaker. We're yet to see the rest of the concepts like the Rip Rod and all the HW Legends custom cars, although there is a good chance.

4. LEGO Speed Champions cars will not feature at launch. With no LEGO environment to drive them, it would be strange to feature them in the first place, although the most recent LEGO Speed Champions vehicles such as the Koenigsegg Jesko, Ford Bronco R, Ford GT and Toyota GR Supra all feature in FH5.

5. Fictional vehicles, such as the Quartz Regalia models, and the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech, will be left out. I'm thinking this is more of an exclusivity thing, given they are fictional vehicles, but the Warthog is returning nonetheless.

6. Rolls-Royce and Tesla might not make it to the game at launch, or worse, not at all. Strangely, both brands' last-known appearances in a Horizon title was in Horizon 3. Rolls-Royce is even lucky enough to be in Motorsport 7, while for Tesla, they didn't make it to another Forza game since then. This may suggest that both brands don't like their cars depicted in an arcade-like or unrealistic fashion, perhaps?

Horizon is known to lean more towards the arcade part when it comes to "sim-cade" style driving, as it does have some hints of realism borrowed from Motorsport (after all, the latest LET'S GO!!! stream confirmed an overhaul to the physics, in which from the looks of things, they really try to make the cars behave more realistically). This type of licensing issue might have been the reason why Toyota might have pulled out of many other racing games, due to the more arcade-style games almost being associated with street racing (Honda in the mid-2000's also did something similar to this, if I remember closely).

7. Cars that were left out, especially older and/or lower-trim models of certain cars, could return via Festival Playlists or other such rewards. It's already becoming confusing and somewhat erratic how Turn Ten/Playground would choose to leave out these older and/or lower-trim models of certain cars throughout not only the Horizon titles, but that of Forza as a whole (even in Motorsport).

Just because they're lower-tiered than the latest outgoing model of a specific generation of car or model family doesn't mean it's obsolete or redundant. I mean, sure, they can be upgraded in an attempt to match their newer, superior versions, but they're by no means useless. A great example I keep hearing would be that longtime Forza fans would badly want the original 2005 Lamborghini Murcielago (a popular example of a lower-trim model, especially from the Xbox 360 era), to return to accompany the SV.

Motorsport 5 received backlash for re-introducing older cars from the Xbox 360 era as paid DLC, a move that Turn Ten has since learned from, but on the Horizon side of things, it tells another story - some cars previously in the Xbox 360 era ended up in the Car Pass, while a sizeable chunk end up as rewards such as the Festival Playlists, Forzathon, or other such rewards. Those cars left out need to find a way to return, with no additional charge, of course. However, they'll certainly be labeled as "hard-to-find" cars for sure. Other such cars that could end up as "hard-to-find" cars would be the Barrett-Jackson cars, HW Legends custom cars and a few others.

8. There will be a larger focus on adding off-road and rally vehicles. Not surprising, given we have the "Brocky" Bronco, its "R" variant, the Sierra RX3, an unbranded Ford Escort Mk1 rally car, and most recently, the 2004 Nissan Pickup #23 Rally Raid, and potentially a monster truck version of the Hot Wheels Bone Shaker, which would easily be the first monster truck in the Forza franchise.

I'm predicting not only a larger number of rally raid vehicles, Baja/trophy trucks, historic rally cars and buggies, but also potentially Group A rally, Group B rally cars, modern WRC (2000's-present) and even rallycross, to name a few (wouldn't count on Monster Jam featuring in Forza, at least not just yet, if we're getting monster trucks), given Mexico's landscape (and the Baja well known for off-road racing). Maybe this is also a potential teaser to Forza Motorsport (reboot) having rally racing included?

9. There will be a noteable increase in electric vehicles. The Porsche Taycan Turbo S is just the beginning, as with the Rimac Nevera, among others (it's still called either C_Two or Concept_Two in-game and in the car list, but I like the Nevera name better, it sounds better, and is what the actual production car is called). Maybe more like some Audi e-tron models could make it to the game at launch. I sure hope the Audi AI:RACE and AI:TRAIL make it too, alongside the NIO EP9 (it would be a crime not to include the NIO EP9).

Following the gradual reveal of the car list (after Sept. 7), will they not only reveal more small manufacturers returning from FH4/FM7, but will we get more returning cars from FH3 and below (e.g. 1988 VW Scirocco R, 2000 Honda Prelude Type SH, etc.)?
