I personally don't like the W1 styling. It just feels too generic, especially the boring LED lights... The McLaren swish is completely gone and they also aren't using the 720/750S headlight design. It just looks dull.

Here are some non-camo photos:

The rear wing extending behind the car also feels more like a gimmick than a real requirement...

I'd assume the other car in that case would be a rally car, since Japan has rally heritage in its blood. But where would you get something like that? The only WRC car from Japan that's actually active in either Rally1 or Rally2 is the GR Yaris that we already have.

Wouldn't necessarily have to be a WRC car...

Okay, had to see if anyone pieced the covers together as a theme.

Sine a McLaren was already on one of the FH covers, probably could remove that brand from possibilities.

Considering we had back to back Lambos as cover cars for FH2 and FH3, I doubt that having the Senna for FH4 diminishes the chances of the W1 for FH6.

I still feel they will go with a Japanese car, as so far all locations with big manufacturers had a car representing one of them, so the LFR makes perfect sense.

Not disagreeing with you. I’m removing the probability.
Did you have to post all those FM covers and remind me that the franchise is dead :(
Don’t tell me Forza has its doom posters as well. :sly:

I've also been imagining the Toyota GT Concept... or Lexus LFR... or whatever it may actually be called as the potential cover car of FH6, should it be set in Japan.

Currently it's only been in camouflage, and the recent trend of cover cars in Forza (starting with Motorsport 5) are either cars yet to be revealed to the public or are revealed already and in pre-production.

Another candidate would be the Bugatti Tourbillon.

they wouldn't use tourbillon as csr2 has it. since we know forza will use pre-production cars as cover cars

They need something which attracts car enthusiasts, so stuff like off road racers or normal trucks won't work. Supercars or hypercars remain by far the most likely.

Are we sure previous cover cars were "first time used in a racing game" when they made the cover, or was CSR still first (for example with the Senna or the AMG One)?

Pretty sure that Forza always had exclusive cover cars. afaik centenario, ford gt, gt2rs, E-Ray, Senna, AMG One were all exclusive to forza for atleast a year

I still retain it'll likely be the W1 because of their long-standing partnership with McLaren (deliveries start early next year; I assume FH6 will ship early next year as well if we're getting reveal this year), but generally, the brand has been good about securing up-coming supercars. Ford GT & the GT2 RS made their debuts alongside the games. McLaren chose to make the Senna's North American debut at E3 alongside Horizon 4. The AMG-One's production did come a few months after Horizon 5, but Mercedes attributed their partnership with Microsoft as to why it debuted in the game first.

If you look at the list of cars recently added to CSR2, so many of the potential FH6 cover cars are there. Even the Bugatti Tourbillion, which is otherwise just about perfect in terms of release timeframe. I'd also love to see them pick the amazing Pagani Utopia, but that's also not an option. In fact, the total CSR2 car list is immensely complete when it comes to the sorts of cars suitable as cover car, just about any supercar or hypercar you could think of is there.

This CSR2 list seems to be pretty complete:

If we really get Japan, then the Aspark Owl would be a great choice: 2000hp Japanese EV monster, not quite released yet but due soon. Yet it's already in CSR2. What a shame...

As for viable options...

The McLaren W1 is indeed notable for its absence in CSR2. I think you guys are right that they might be holding out for FH6.

However, Lambo is another with many ties to Forza cover cars. I noticed that while CSR2 has the Revuelto and Temerario, the Lamborghini Fenomeno isn't in game yet. We already had the similar special edition Centenarino as a cover car, so maybe that's a chance?

I still think the Nevera R would be viable, and it's not yet in CSR2, but you guys don't think so.

I wouldn't benchmark anything against CSR2, personally. It's a mobile game, so licensing is either questionable, or extremely easy because the game mechanics is just a super simplistic drag racer with a button press, & no one flies out to model the real car so it's just paying a licensing fee for the car's image basically. And the licensing fees are likely affordable b/c it's the usual mobile game formula. It's free-to-play with time locked features or you pay real world money to bypass and acquire things easier.

The Owl has also been available for a couple years, just to note, but I don't think it really represents Japan at its best. Aspark's an old engineering firm from Japan, but the Owl's built in the same Turin factory we got the Emozione & the Stratos. It's not a super recognizable car, either & it looks destined to be something like Cizeta or Vector where it generates some hype as a radical design, but it becomes another forgotten marque b/c it's far too expensive and the sales aren't there (2 examples were both listed at $3.5 million in Monaco, one of which was later auction at $1.8m where it still failed to sell & now resides back with M.A.T. waiting to be sold).

My assumption is they'll just do something similar to Horizon 1 & use a Japanese car that's been around for a couple years (like the Supra or even the out-going GT-R since it's iconic now) as a background vehicle.

Well I just finished making a big NO no.

I just found out the Aston martin Valkyrie is in the game so I looked it up and it sells for 1.8m to 2m credits.

I only have 800K so out of desperation I auction off my F1 for the max that I can sell a car for 1.8M it sold in less then 15 minutes.

Only for me to find out that to get my F1 back I'm gonna have to buy it for 20M. :(

To end I bet the player that bought it from me is having a big O laugh about it.

I think the F1 can be earned through wheelspins.

I can't imagine a situation in FH5 where you'd be short of credits for anything, ever. Even the silly 300SLR price.

I'd only ever auction off duplicates, and even then it's hardly necessary and you can just Gift them.

I'm just doing Races that pay out around 25K other then that I really don't have many cars to auction no one is gonna buy a 25K viper.

Other then that I haven't really looked into how to get credits at a higher rate.

Wheelspins. They throw credits at you constantly.

So its the ultimate luck vs the next 10 years grinding 20M.
In Forza Horizon grind is not based strictly on payout from racing, but rather doing this childish 'skill-point' thing. It gives you wheelspins, which translate to credits. You will earn much more in 30min of ADHD stuff like jumping, offroad, destroying environment with your 10mm-ground-clearance Lambo than winning a 30min race. The best way is to combine both (look at the popularity of those AFK races at eventlab).

I'm nostalgic for those bygone days when money used to be a problem for me in FH5. It was so far back I can barely remember it.

Funny, I thought all that stuff was the reason people play this game.
Probably, most of them, yes. Despite what it might seem so, I'm not criticizing Horizon for what it became (Fortnite Cars if you ask me) but rather trying to judge it from my personal mid-30s boomer POV. It is obviously targeted to younger audience expecting instant gratification and need for 'always something new and exciting/crazy to do' - if I was responsible for that game design, I would do the same to sell well and make money.

My first game from the series was FH3 (and it is my favorite to this day) and with each iteration I'm noticing the constant evolution from 'not so much serious but still somehow serious' to 'woooo let's put a funny hat on that NPC and make him do 500m jump from top of the volcano followed by double somersault in this race-track machine '. It evolved the same way Top Gear did. Still, each iteration sells better than previous one, so it works. And even a boomer like me can have fun in this game cruising around the map (but with ADHD-points meter and a few other options turned off).

Mid-40s "boomer" here. I guess I'm just young at heart (or childish) because I really like the instant gratification and craziness.
Not a Fortnite fan though - there are limits.

You really don’t need to do silly stuff to gain skill points. Simply racing cleanly and overtaking AI cars without hitting them, following them closely, earns very large skill point combos each race.

Just try it: set the AI to be comfortable without effortless overtaking then drive carefully and don’t hit other cars or the barriers. You earn loads of skill points like this with no need to do anything childish.
